I can't run out of good things to say about Boulter…read more First off, If you're the type that gets religious about plywood, this is a top holy site. The selection & value can't be topped, especially if you need cuts made. It's a service that should not be overlooked. The folks in that cutting room are talented, and have gotten me out of a jamb or two. It's also my first stop for hard and soft wood, having purchased Ash, Sapele, and Maple for several projects over the years. I'm not a cabinet maker or a finish carpenter, nor do I pretend to be, but they'll treat you great, and give you advice just the same over there. You only need to visit once to understand that it's the people that work there that bring you back, not just the wood. And like the person who told me, I get a little smile across my face when I tell someone else about them for the first time.

I use mostly teak on my boat, but occasionally mahogany on it. If you go in knowing what you are doing, knowing what you want, knowing what your project is all about, these people are terrific. Their cutting service is perfect. Their delivery is pretty amazing. One day, I bought materials and left there around 10 am. The delivery was made almost before I made it home before noon to my house in Marshfield, They've got quality. They've got great product.

I called the store and they said it's "not a Lowe's delivery," it's a gig delivery, meaning that they put it out there and hope someone wants to pick it up and bring it to me. So, I paid $69 to...maybe get my delivery? And they can't tell me if or when that will happen. That is crappy customer service, and whether or not I get my order today, I will not be ordering from any Lowe's store again.

$5,100 Door Disaster - Lowe's & East Coast Millwork Should Be Ashamed…read more After six months of waiting, I finally received an exterior door I purchased through Lowe's -- and what arrived was unfinished, unpainted, and poorly installed by their subcontractor, East Coast Millwork. The door came from the vendor only primed, with raised, visible plugs all around the molding. It was installed anyway, and the workmanship was terrible: misaligned hardware, scuffed surfaces, sloppy caulking that fell out after one day of rain, and a screen door that doesn't close or seal properly. My home is now exposed to the weather heading into winter. To make matters worse, East Coast Millwork admitted before installation that the door was damaged, told me to inform Lowe's, and then lied afterward, denying it completely. Both companies have refused to take responsibility or provide a fix. I've spent $5,100 and six months waiting, and I'm left with an unfinished door that looks like a factory reject. The pictures speak for themselves -- customers deserve better than this.

I could order via their website but the fastest delivery to the store would take 14-16 days. My neighbor suggested Murray Supply Corporation in Medford. I called them late in the afternoon and I talked to Garry. Garry promised to get State Select Direct Vent Water Heater for 40 gallons in 24 hours in his store. Next morning he called me around 8:00 AM to let me know that the item arrived in his store. I was planning to pick it up but my car was in the shop. Garry offered next day delivery. Driver called me in the morning to let me know that he has left. He arrived in 30 minutes and helped d me to move the water heater. We installed the water heater with no problems and we had no issues. It is quite rare to receive such service nowadays. Chains do not care about your needs. They take their sweet time. I recommend Murray Supply to everybody!

The parts that connect the water gauge to my home's steam heat boiler was leaking water. Little…read moredid I know that Lowe's or Home Depot only sells the glass tube (which they don't cut). At least the Lowe's employee in Malden was friendly and suggested Murray's or JW plumbing nearby. Since JW was closer and appeared to be a larger chain, I naturally went there (I may review them later). First of all if you're a woman, I don't recommend going into JW like I did unless you're there for their show room or really know what you're doing. What I needed seemed simple on YouTube... A clerk at the front help desk did try his best to look in his computer inventory and shelves, but couldn't find the parts and told me to come back a week later. I went back, only to discover they they still didn't have the items. Knowing there was another location in Boston, I tried calling them in advance to ask for the parts. The man on the phone gave me a quote which totaled about $3 (for two brass bolts with the corresponding washers) and a name of a person at the counter who could help me, but when I got there Cisco wrote up a bill for $12. There's no price tags, I was tired from running around, so I didn't argue, but it felt dishonest. After my husband installed the items, we realized we needed the full gauge glass kit, because I found a leak with the valve and my newly purchased blue washers warped and broke the glass... why did I share this? Things happen when you DIY and Murray's was a breath of fresh air. It's smaller, so when you go inside you directly face a counter, with all the clerks standing behind it. I asked for the items, and they quickly found it for a reasonable if not better cost (compared to online). They offered to cut the glass for free, recognize you when you go back, are friendly, and even and threw in a couple of extra washers when I asked for backups. Go to Murray's first and it'll save you a lot of time!
