The job that Luis and his team performed was poor. They were hired to pack and load my 1BR apartment into a standard sized U-Pack Cube for 4-5 hours and to provide materials. The team arrived promptly, was courteous and worked very quickly with the packing. I estimate they finished the packing in ~2 hours. We then waited for approximately 90 minutes for the U-Pack Cube to be dropped off. The team took "a break" as there was downtime and nothing to do. That is understandable. The problem was that the team did not do a sufficient job of loading the items into the cube -- and as it turns out -- did not do a sufficient job either of packing my items into boxes efficiently. The team left close to 10 items--some pieces of furniture and 1 box--and claimed they could not fit it in. I was shocked, as I had made a similar move with a similar amount of items from NYC to Oakland, using the same size cube. Luis seemed very eager to wrap up the job and move on. He did not express any interest in wanting to staying longer to remove items from the cube and do a proper packing job. When the time came to pay -- the payment app required me to leave gratuity. Not willing to leave all of these crucial items behind, I hired two Task Rabbit workers that very day. The 3 of us took a few hours to re-pack the cube, properly. We had to open up boxes that Luis and his team packed, only to discover that many of the boxes were less than full, thus taking up unnecessary space! We managed to pack a majority of the left behind furniture items (certainly the most important pieces) into the cube and all of the revised boxes. This was not what I expected from a professional moving service (and especially not at their price point). I had reached out to them for an explanation and partial refund but they gave no response. I will not be recommending this service to anyone in my community in The Bay Area. read more

I put in requests for quotes from several SF moving companies. Not only was Moving Forward's quote the lowest, they also responded the quickest! Within 5 minutes of my requesting a quote, I received a phone call from their office. They asked me what I needed moving, walked me through what they could provide, and let me reserve the cancellable moving reservation for only $1.00 on my credit card. I received emails confirming my reservation and quote and felt confident about my choice. Then comes move-in day. Moving Forward texts me the day before to confirm moving, and the movers show up promptly at 8 AM day-of. The movers wrapped all of our furniture, informed us of when things were already damaged so that everyone was on the same page, and disassembled/reassembled furniture day-of! They provided complimentary wardrobe boxes and even extra moving boxes. The movers also helped us move unwanted furniture into the garage (so we could dispose of later). Moving Forward was efficient, extremely careful, and incredibly kind. They obviously went the extra mile! We were done with our move within the quoted time frame and Moving Forward even gave us a 5% discount for paying in cash. We tipped 20% and the movers absolutely deserved it because they did an excellent job -- please remember to tip your movers! I recommend Moving Forward and will be using their services in the future. Thank you, Louis and team! read more

I had sold my condo so that my husband to be and I could buy a house. I made the not so wise decision to have another moving company move my furniture from the condo to a storage unit. They were lazy and completely unprofessional. When we got the house, I knew I needed to have another moving company help out. A friend recommend Luis from Moving Forward, and I am so happy that he did. Luis provided a reasonable quote and was very professional. When he showed up at the storage unit, he was surprised that none of the furniture was wrapped. He and his partner carefully wrapped the furniture before loading it in the truck. At the house, they equally carefully unloaded the truck and carried all the furniture into their respective rooms. I have an especially heavy dresser and Luis didn't think he could carry it up the stairs, so instead of potentially damaging the dresser by carrying it up without the right help, he went to get another guy. The dresser was moved without any problems. Luis was very professional throughout the entire move and I highly recommend him. read more

This moving company picked up the pieces of my moving nightmare after Starving Students cancelled on me 2 days before my move. SS didn't have the required Certificate of Insurance for my move (even though they confirmed they did at time of reservation). Moving Forward moving company was amazing! From Luis who reached back out to me via Yelp to Chynna who helped set up the reservation and sent me the COI to Luis and Francisco who were amazing movers. Luis and Francisco showed up 15 minutes BEFORE our reservation time (this never happens and the punctuality was extremely appreciated). They were also very customer service oriented, very polite, and worked well with the other parties moving in that same day. They had a can-do attitude and were absolutely professional in every way. It's so rare today to find people that come to work ready to work, and this made my move all the more easy and fun. I can say that I will only be using this moving company in the future. read more

Luis was / is fantastic!!! Reading all the other reviews helped and they are all spot on. The truck turned up right on time and everything was taken care off quickly, professionally and I didn't lift a finger. Everything was packed up with care and the same applied at the other end. I had to leave to head back to work, Luis was fine with that and everything that i had forgotten to pack up, he and his team sorted out for me. His competitive pricing is also a huge part of the 5 stars service, I spoke with a couple of other removal companies and Moving Forward was also the best price. Very pleased with everything, recommend these guys over all of their competitors and will only ever be using them in the future. Thank you Luis!! read more

What a fantastic moving company! Luis was professional and very responsive before and during the move. I was concerned whether they would be able to get some of the bigger furniture pieces up the stairs and into my condo. The guys took their time, measured twice, and were able to get everything into my place without damaging the furniture or anything on or outside my condo. I have normally had a bad opinion of movers due to my past experience, but these guys were very kind, fast, safe, and professional. I would not hesitate to use them in the past. I compared prices and while these guys weren't the cheapest out there, I think the quality of their work and the care they take makes the premium worth it! read more

A friend recommended Moving Forward to me. I had a somewhat complicated move from a two story loft in San Francisco to a floating home in Sausalito. Luis and his partner were super!! I was nervous about getting all my belongings into an unusual house on the water through a narrow door down a steep ramp not only were these guys extra cautious but very creative in maneuvering everything inside. The bed was too large for the narrow stairs and these guys didn't give up until they got it in from the deck on the second floor. They were punctual, professional, fairly priced, and considerate of my unusual circumstance. They totally made a stressful experience much easier for me!! I definitely recommend! read more

Luis and his crew made our move go as smoothly as moving can go. In fact, his company motto should be "smooth move". I was dreading our move. With our infant son, it was hard to find the time to pack. On top of that, our childcare had to cancel the day of the move. I didn't know how this would play out. I was hoping Luis would be late so I could have more time to pack.... They showed up on time, and took control. It wasn't long before all was well. Luis' crew worked hard, took good care of our stuff, and was very professional. They also were great with my son. I would use them again and recommend them to others! (I was not given any compensation for this posting.) read more

Wow, we are so happy with our move! Really, it couldn't have gone better. We decided to go with Moving Forward because we got a good feeling after meeting with Luis. A couple weeks before, they dropped off a bunch of reusable plastic bins for us to pack. We needed extra help because we had so much stuff crammed into our apartment, so we scheduled a two-day move. One day of packing and one day of moving. Francisco and his guys were great -- Fast, hard working and conscientious. They even helped us re-assemble some furniture at our new place. No drama, no surprises, no hidden charges. I would totally recommend this company, and plan to use them again! read more

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Never have I had such a pleasant experience with a moving company. Luis is really amazing. He and his crew showed up 15 minutes early, and just got the job done. We were done in 5 hours flat, moving our stuff from a 2br in Mountain View to Oakland. We ran Into a double booking issue with our new apt building, where they had someone scheduled to move in at 1pm and Luis made it work. Total job time 7:45 to 1pm, including The 45 minute trip from town to town. I wish Luis could run Several other businesses, so I could get the same level of service. If you are moving in the bay area you are crazy not to use them. read more

5 stars for moving forward! It was a 3 man team, Manuel, Lalo and Gera moving our 2 bedroom place, they were awesome. They texted confirmation of the move ahead of moving day, they arrived right on time (a few minutes early actually which was great) and moved everything really safely and efficiently. They wore masks during the move and packed everything in its own individual blanket and stretch wrap to keep it protected. The initial quote given was right in line with the total cost, no hidden charges or fees. These guys know how to get it done, would recommend and hire again if needed for a move. read more

Luis and Lee made my move easy. They showed up at the very beginning of my timeframe and wasted no time in getting started, taking extra precautions that my furniture was protected. They even made a quick stop at a hardware store to get screws to make my bed frame sturdier, and went above any beyond by dismantling and reassembling my bed. The most impressive feat was moving a heavy mattress up a spiral staircase like it was no big whoop. Moving Forward totally gets what's important to you as a customer and delivers. I'd use them again just for peace of mind. Nice dudes too! read more

From the moment I requested for a quote online (1 week prior to my move), to getting my appointment confirmed... until the second I signed my receipt once the job was completed... EVERYTHING went so smoothly and wonderful with this team! AMAZING JOB done by Francisco, Elias and Nemias! They came on time, didn't let any time wasted, and worked straight through the 4 hours non-stop. We may be moving again in a year... so for sure, I'll be contacting you again, if that does happen! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP, Moving Forward team!!! read more

Moving Forward isn't just for moving residencies. I hired them to move my business from one location in San Francisco to another. Owner Luis is very friendly and very hands on. I love how prepared he was for every odd kitchen item I needed packing. He was also surprisingly fast and while we met with the new tenets and our brokers he kept working and had the job done before we finished our meeting. And the best part aside from being prompt and efficient, he has a great sense of humor and had a smile on his face the whole time. read more

This is the second time we've used Moving Forward for our office move. They were referred to us and we have since referred them to others. Everything you could want in a moving company. Responsive, reliable, efficient, affordable. They also took a significant amount of old equipment to the dump for us at a much better price than other companies would have charged. Hopefully we won't have to move again, but if we do we'll hire Luis and his team again. And we'll certainly refer them to others. read more

Francisco, Elias, and Juan did an amazing job moving us to our new digs. They sorted our stuff into the two destinations were were separating into, loaded the truck well, and were careful with our possessions. They even built special box structures to protect a tall Buddha statue we had. I already recommended them to a friend, for whom they also did a great job. I will surely use this company again for my next move-- which I hope will be years away, lol. read more

Moving Forward was fantastic end to end. They helped me plan a last minute move from SJ to SF and they were able to pull it off flawlessly. They were open and honest about pricing (which is fair by the way!) and they did a rush order on a Certificate of Liability for me. The two guys who moved me, Luis and Carlos, were timely, efficient, friendly, and careful with my stuff. I'd highly recommend this moving service and will be using them again in the future. read more

Amikar, Elias, and Solomon were the move team that came out to help us with the move of our one bedroom apartment and they did an amazing job! We appreciate all their hard work and heavy lifting. We had many fragile things and a few bulky furniture items, they wrapped and protected it all! They got everything done in the four hour minimum window and we were so impressed with their efficiency. We'd highly recommend them to anyone needing help with a move. read more

Luis and Mario were amazing. I can't say enough great things about those guys. They were not messing around, they were so quick and literally made my move painless. I was short two boxes, no problem, they had me covered right away. My move was down one flight and up three - they were hustling the whole time and the work ethic is something to be admired. I will definitely use them again for my next move and recommend them to anyone I know. read more
