I had showed them all the pictures of my stuff that needs to be moved and I also told them the number of stair steps I have, everything was communicated to them clear and in details. They gave me a quote but the quote means nothing to them. In the end I had to pay for added time, added materials for wrapping and added fee for bulk item. The amount I need to pay is not even near the estimation, it is way way way more than the estimation. What's the point for estimation anyway. Just to lure the customer to their payment trap? I had to pay $5300 in the end, 65% more than the estimation. So if you are considering this mover, I warn you that you need to add 65% more on their estimation before signing the contract. Dan, Frank and Sam must have gone up and down the steps of my third floor walk-up about 100 times yesterday. They quickly and efficiently got all of my possessions out of my apartment and into my new house. They wrapped everything so nicely and were super friendly to work with. We did however go over the time I was originally scheduled for, and I was so nervous to hear the final price, and was braced for the worst, but it only went up about $70. I went in expecting a nightmarish move like our last experience (with another company), only to be surprised by how smoothly everything went in comparison to all our previous moves. Only a few minor things were damaged - nothing we can't live without or get replaced. The 3 man crew who completed our move were cordial, and were very careful and respectful of the furniture and properties. Their team leader was experienced and imparted some helpful advice on how to fix the legs of my old upright piano that had been damaged in a previous move. While this job certainly went overtime, the cost was reasonable for our shoestring budget. These young men worked hard, and my family and I really appreciate their efforts and due diligence. Battery died on his drill and didn't have a proper toolset. That part was a nightmare. I ended up having to reassemble my bed myself. They put the couch unwrapped in the truck next to my bike and it got chain oil all over the couch. They did hire a steam cleaner to come and clean my couch and got the stain out. Like I said they did get the job done, but I was not as happy with the service as I could have been considering the price was similar to others in the area. Hopefully this review will help them identify weaknesses and improve their service in the future. In general, I don't think I would let any mover disassemble and reassemble my furniture in the future. This is the second time I have used movers to do this and both times it was not done properly.
