Great experience from start to finish. They took the time to make sure they had an accurate quote - this is important as I had poor experience in years past where a quote was substantially lower than the final bill. Here they asked a lot of questions to make sure they fully understood what was needed and priced accordingly. All of the people were professional and pleasant from the initital contact through the packing and moving team. Everything made it from PA to MA safe and sound so no complaints! Service was bad. Some of the worker was very rude. He was not feeling to help or compromise anything at all!

They arrived right on time - that was a great initial impression for me. 3 workers were all professional, experienced and polite! They took great care of our belongings, making sure everything was properly padded, everything was taken apart and put back together without a hitch. I wasn't moving it was a tenant on my property. Their truck hit some electrical wires and tore the electric meters right off the house. All the driver said was "watch out, the wires are hot" then he just drove off. He didn't say he was sorry, the office people didn't either, they just hung up. In a phone call all they would say is "your wires were too low" then they hang up. Funny thing was I was considering them for a business move, not now. Stay away from them! There are plenty of GOOD movers out there, you don't need Moodys. read more

We didn't like the quoting/estimating process because they nickel and dime you for every little thing. But, we put up with it because they had the best price for our normal 4-BR home. They were on time and the guys who did the heavy lifting on a really hot humid day were very fast and efficient. They worked hard and took really good care of the furniture and everything they moved. What bothered us a little was the continued nickel and diming. As soon as the supervisor arrived, we started hearing about all the things they don't do. They don't take lamps. It's a home! We have lamps! They brought bid boxes for "flatscreens and art". They did a nice job with the TV's, but left all our framed photos and paintings just leaning against the wall. We don't have a lot, just about probably 12-15 framed things in the whole house. On their way out, I asked if they were taking the framed photos. How many? About a dozen. Well, we'll take some, but probably can't take a dozen. Just annoying. We would let them quote us again, and we'd recommend you to check them out. The bottom line is they moved our stuff quickly, without any damage or problems and the guys worked hard. Just be prepared for itemizing every single thing. read more

Our recent move went so smoothly, thanks to the help of Moody Movers. We were having a difficult time getting other movers to come to our previous home for an estimate. They wanted us to fill in an online survey or simply give them a list of our possessions over the phone. We felt these methods could easily lead to higher actual charges on moving day. Bryan was more than willing to come out, take a good look at our things, & give us an estimate that we felt we could trust. On moving day we had a team of 5 great guys: Blake, Jon, Junior, Nick, & Geremy. All were very friendly, polite, & super hard-working. As we had moved a lot of the small things ourselves, they were left with all the heavy items, including a 500 lb. table saw & other woodworking equipment. Everything came through on the other end unscathed. The guys finished ahead of schedule and actually saved us around $400 off the estimate. Had Moody move me 5 years ago and had a great experience. Called them again when we moved a few weeks ago and had the WORST experience. There was no preview of the content of my home, which made me nervous since I wasn't sure it would fit in the truck. Despite sharing my concerns up front, I was assured it would be fine. We needed to be out if our home by 11. They showed up at 8:30 with only two guys, I had asked for 3. The third guy finally showed up around 10. Needless to say we weren't out by 11. The truck was too small and they had to go back and get the other stuff. They didn't have us moved in until about 6 PM. It was extraordinarily stressful. Thankfully everything worked out. I reached out to the owner to talk about what happened and he never got back to me. Very disappointed and unfortunately would not recommend. The movers themselves worked so hard and did everything they could. Thankfully the buyers of our home were not moving it that day, but had they, we would have been up a creek. read more

Not a good experience. They took forever to call me back for a quote. Even though they had a complete inventory of my stuff and knew the situation at both places, the bill was still 50% higher than the estimate. Plus, the movers broke two of my dressers and didn't tell me. I discovered the damage after they left the broken parts on top of each piece. I followed up with the owner on the bill and damages but the only reply I received was that he cashed the check. Move on to another company. read more

I am not surprised to read these bad reviews of Moody Movers. Eight years ago they moved my mother, who was then in her 70's. They did a terrible job, did not put things where they were supposed to go, broke furniture, and "lost" a number of items that have never been found. My mother held back payment until someone would come and rectify the situation. One night the owner turned up at her door: he appeared to have been drinking. He was menacing to my mother; I actually thought he was going to assault her. I had to tell him not to threaten an elderly woman, to get out or I would call the police. Horrible, horrible experience. My mother tried to have Moody Movers do a consultation on moving her furniture. The first time they showed up on the wrong day, and the second time they were and hour and 15 minutes late! When he showed up he was rude to me (I am an adult helping her pack up for the move) cut me off, damanded that I call her, and huffed and puffed and sighed rolled his eyes at me, and wouldnt look at me half the time he was talking to me and was walking away while talking. After she, my mother, had waited an hour for Brian to come, and called him twice and left a message to see what was happening without a return call, she left. He refused to wait the ten minutes it would take her to come back home and told me "doesn't she realize ITS A FRIDAY NIGHT! HAVE HER CALL ME TOMORROW!" he shouted as he walked away and drove off. I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone they are rude, unorganized, and unprofessional. Wish you the best in finding someone else to help you move. read more

Gave me a quote via email without seeing the furniture- I sent them a list- it was $1000 less than others and left me feeling a bit nervous but I figured hey, can't increase the cost by $1000, so should be good. PLUS! they loaded and unloaded our 3800SF in 1 day Vs. the other quotes who had load on day 1 and unload on day 2. I had the wonderful experience of meeting Junior and Rich today. They handled our move this Saturday morning. I was absolutely impressed by their service, attention to detail and their pace. Initially, there was a question about moving two large pieces of furniture into the finished basement however, they quickly and successfully resolved the problem. Their attention to detail was evident in their wrapping of a large leather chair to avoid scrapes during the move and placing a cherry buffet table without a nick or ding on our hardwood floor. I recently used Moody's for a local move for a heavy appliance. They were very prompt, called to confirm and they worked efficiently. The three guys they sent were very polite and detail oriented, and didn't complain at all when it became clear that I measured my doorway incorrectly! I paid them hunderds of dollars to move a bedroom chest three weeks ago. They left the piece with all drawers in tact & the feet on it, refusing to remove them & declared it unable to get up my stairwell. They nicked the molding in my stairwell & the dresser in the process. They charged an additional $400 for their time. Next the office refused to send someone back declaring it impossible to get it up my stairs even with removing the parts. This morning a mover took the feet off & carried it up the stairs just as Moody tried. I have now paid more than the piece was worth. Never again. read more

Worst moving company that I have ever encountered. I had arranged to have a 3 man crew come this morning to move a large screen TV to the basement prior to a new Plasma TV being delivered at 9am. When no one had showed up by 8:15, I began calling the company. All calls went to voice mail, and after a while the voice mail box was filled. After hiring someone else to make the move, I finally was able to reach the owner, who started to tell me all of the company's troubles this summer. He claimed that there was no record of my appointment and that the rep who had made the appointment last week was no longer employed. Incredibly unprofessional company. I'd hate to think what would have happened if this was a whole house move. read more

The two gentlemen who did my move from Doylestown to Center City, Philadelphia, were incredible. They were on time, professional, courteous, very flexible and accommodating, extremely careful with my stuff and super efficient. We got done faster than I had thought and it ended up costing less than what I was expecting, based on the initial quote. And that was including their help in setting up some of my furniture after they brought everything in. In my previous moves, the movers would just put things down and leave. These guys offered to help without my asking. The office staff were also very friendly and professional and timely in returning phone calls or responding to emails before the move. I can't imagine a better moving experience. I highly recommend this company. It's unfair that the one-star reviews from 4 or 5 years ago would give people the wrong impression and could stop them from seeing the more recent customer experiences.
