Having moved around several times, including a recent cross-country move, I've had plenty of adventures with movers and this was the exact opposite of an adventure. We were given a quote and details regarding minimum timeframes and prorated amounts, and were able to book a move with relatively short notice. They reached out to confirm as well the day before our move, and on moving day the friendliest crew ever showed up at my door. Angel, Eric, and Will were professional, polite, and funny as well. They made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and were able to handle some unwieldy furniture with ease. When processing the payment the day of the move, the owner let us know we'd come in under the initial quoted amount as well - a pleasant surprise! While I'm hoping not to move again for a long while, if I had to I'd book with Reliable Movers again in a heartbeat. read more

There were several issues with our move. First, they were supposed to arrive at 10am the day of our move as we needed to be out of our house by 3:30pm. The night before the move the owner contacted us by phone stating they wouldn't be there until around noon due to a delay with a move that day. Given the recent snow storm we had, I could understand the delay. The owner assured me they would be done on time. When they arrived on the day of the move, the owner stated they couldn't do the move because our driveway was too steep. At no time did anyone from Reliable Movers ask about our driveway or access to our house. We were told this only hours before we had to be out of our house for closing. I was able to offer a solution and get them up our driveway. The team worked diligently to move our belongings quickly. However, upon unpacking the truck at our new house we discovered damage to several pieces of furniture and a new TV. The owner admitted he didn't bring enough moving blankets to adequately protect all items. Additionally their truck was not adequate to fit all of our belongings requiring us to quickly arrange for overnight storage. Due to the fact that I am attempting to go after them for damage, I won't go into the details. All I can say is stay away from these 2. I just needed a sectional couch and chair taken to the dump. Owner comes by himself and hostile the minute he entered the house. Yanked the sofa through a 2 week only new Andersen slider and does 1600 worth of damage. Tries to tell me it's my son's fault. Tells me I was irresponsible b/c I wasn't there. (they were now suppose to come until I was home later in the day from work). And let me tell you the things I caught on my security camera of him yelling in the yard on the phone to his partner. It was more about my liberal views on display with my flags than it was moving my furniture. I have witnesses (painters) that were there that could not believe an owner of a company would act like that. They take no responsibility as you can see by other reviews here. Shady as all get out. I hired reliable movers to move my mother's things from one assisted living to another. The lead moving guy was rude and condescending. When I asked him about wrapping my grandmothers 100 years old, maple furniture we had refinished. He assured me he knew what he was doing. He pointed out some scuffs on the bedrails prior to moving. The dresser was in perfect condition. However; when it arrived it had a horrible scratch mark on the dresser. The driver refused to acknowledge the damage and Juanita has never responded to my emails or phone calls. They even charged me for the 30 minutes the driver spent in my mom's bathroom. I would not recommend this company, they did not pack a thing, that was done when they arrived. they failed to protect the furniture when I specifically requested special care be given to the bedroom set. They also have not demonstrated any integrity in addressing the damage they did to the dresser. they could easily turn this into their insurance they supposedly charged me for and get this fixed, which they have failed to do. read more

Buyer beware. I used them for a local move. Underwhelmed. Where the phone quote sounded reasonable, the actual final cost was DOUBLE. I was hopeful about the "no hidden costs" advert. They were prompt/nothing damaged/but promised NO HIDDEN costs. Started off 3 stars/hoping for 5 and an outstanding review here. However, I was charged drive time to and FROM the moving address (expected) + over exaggerated moving materials + over exaggerated "packing time" + the + .30 for lunch + "experienced mover was familiar with the property and its parking issues", despite the fact it took 45 minutes to decide where to unload. The following day a same sized truck pulled in and within 15 minutes of a few turning adjustments was parked exactly where my RELIABLE's truck parked (personally witnessed). I called to see if they would make any adjustments in my Invoice for the OVERT TIME hourly charges (did not pay cash!), Mover's word against mine. I received no adjustment. Levi and Jake came to move my piano and some patio furniture. They couldn't have been nicer. Very kind and were efficient and wasted no time. Raul the owner was very nice as well, glad to hear his employees are paid fairly. They work very hard. Next day called Raul again and had to have things moved to my house next door. Jake and Sean came this time. They worked non stop for 2 hours and moved very heavy desks etc. Raul, make sure all the guys have straps to move with, they really help alot! I'm sorry I work customer service for over 38 yrs and my bff used them.They weren't respectful enough to even tell her they would be running 2 hours late and said to her they aren't a charity case when she asked for a refund for being late. She said the movers were nice but when they spoke to supervisor the supervisor was not. The people very nice. Came the same day I called. They were quick and polite. After they left I began to unpack I discovered several pieces of furniture were scratched or marred. A tall bookcase had the center shelf torn off and it was laid back in place without a word. Leather love seats were bruised on the corners. Long curtain rod bent no longer usable. Sofa table chipped. I had never used a moving company, this was my first time and the experience was a horrible one. They called me to tell me that they had finished with the earlier job and that they could do my moving at 12:45, the weather was very bad, o had to ask to leave early from work, waited for over an hour, they promised 4 guys only 3 showed, they broke boxes (blame it on their where not packed properly) but those boxes where move previously with no problem. They Broke my entrance door grill, Buffet & hutch worth over &1,700.00 don't know what else haven't open any boxes, left the last pickup in the garage and charge my credit card without settling the items that they broke..... he called his assistant we while we were talking and she said that my card was in the system! (I guess he waited while she charged my card and left) The owner which was one of the movers said "that he was a 5 star company and he didn't give a shit" and left his employees and truck behind. My Daughter hired this company to move her from Fleetwood Pa to Northampton PA, paid them 4600.00 cash. The movers not only damaged items but also broke the front door to the home they moved the items to. When she called to address this with the owner, he told her she was just trying to get money back and the she was a half breed from Fleetwood, sooooo unprofessional! I guess 8 days is 3 weeks. Paula called it 2 weeks. Funny how if you ask about, complain, they argue with you and make no effort to make things right like a supposed great customer service person does. The water was cleaned off by my husband. My husband got the truck that was stuck in the mud out of it. Your helper looked right at me as he held up the two broken pieces of the saucer. I sat and thought about everything and wanted to see how you would respond. I needed to calm down. I did not want to contact these guys right away. 8 days is not 2 or 3 weeks, it is a week. Not to mention, again, how do I know what any policy is when I have no contract? read more

This was for a move a few months ago, so perhaps things have changed, but our move did not go well. Though a full inventory of items was provided in advance, they were not properly staffed for the move and it took much longer than planned. Also, much of our furniture had some damage. Most issues were minor - some grease stains or chips - that could be easily repaired by us. But several items were damaged more severely. They did provide compensation, but not enough to cover all repair costs (and ultimately, even if they did cover all costs, we would have still preferred things just go more smoothly). We've done many moves and know it's hard to avoid some issues, but the experience with Reliable was worse than others. As their other reviews are good, we may have been an exception to the rule. For those worried about COVID, they did not wear masks. read more

It's a 'mixed bag' (one way or other) with Reliable Movers. Priced about average and available for you when the "big boy moving firms" are booked solid. Reliable Movers specializes in moving bulk, pre-boxed, pre-packed items short distances. Road / truck crew is handy and very agile with load/unload, destinations, and the logistics. However the office staff could do a better job communicating with one another (and also with their customers after a deposit is taken). Office would be better off quoting using 4 hr. time window formats similar to what utility and appliance repair companies. For example instead of saying we'll come at/after 10am, say 8-12pm. That adds more wiggle room for everyone and results in less PO'd customers (and less surprises). read more

I work as a Program Manager and one of my clients needed help moving all of her personal belongings from a nursing rehabilitation center in Allentown to her new apartment in East Stroudsburg. We originally hired a different mover called Zippy Shell, and they never showed up. No call, no cancellation, they simply just never came. Luckily I found Reliable Movers and they took the job with literally less than four hours notice! I just had Reliable Movers move me. I have moved approximately 25 times in my 73 years. Many times I(we) moved ourselves, but I have also used hired movers a lot and age is creeping up on me and I needed help for this one. The two movers came a little late, but I have never seen anyone hustle like these two guys. They were kind and considerate of me and my belongings. Everything breakable was wrapped in bubble wrap and all was handled with care. Great company! I was moving local so I was worried about the expense of hiring ppl todo the job! I got a quote they told me it would be anywhere from 4 to 5 hours to do my move . They had it done in 3 hours they came on time and got to work wrapped and moved basically my whole house. Moved it all over to my new house in the rooms unharmed! We called for a quote from reliable movers and, because of a glitch, the phone line wouldn't allow us to leave a message. That being said, within the hour a received a phone call from them asking if I needed help in any way. I explained our moving situation, that we had rented a truck to drive to TN but needed help in moving the furniture out and loading the truck from an apartment in downtown Allentown, PA. They quoted me a price and we set a time. They told us that they would bring shrink wrap and bubble wrap to help protect the furniture as well. Rahul and Daniel arrived before our start time and had the truck loaded in 1 hr and 40 minutes! They were very careful with the furniture and boxes and as we have unloaded the truck, it arrived just as they had packed it in - nothing damaged or shifted during the drive down.
