This company treats you like family.from my first conversation with mary at the office she was a pleasure. Meeting her and john at my apartment for the estimate of my move was easy going and I felt like I knew them already. John was going to be in charge of my move and wanted me to be assured that everything was going to be smooth sailing. I was very happy with the price they gave me for my move from a 22nd floor elevator move to a 14th floor elevator new building. They were very reasonable. John and mary came on moving day with three other movers and got to work quickly. They were all very professional and caring of certain items that meant the world to me. After the final box was delivered to my new place we all sat down and we felt like we made new friends. Booking with Reliable Movers was a breeze from start to finish. Having moved around several times,…read moreincluding a recent cross-country move, I've had plenty of adventures with movers and this was the exact opposite of an adventure. We were given a quote and details regarding minimum timeframes and prorated amounts, and were able to book a move with relatively short notice. They reached out to confirm as well the day before our move, and on moving day the friendliest crew ever showed up at my door. Angel, Eric, and Will were professional, polite, and funny as well. They made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and were able to handle some unwieldy furniture with ease. When processing the payment the day of the move, the owner let us know we'd come in under the initial quoted amount as well - a pleasant surprise! While I'm hoping not to move again for a long while, if I had to I'd book with Reliable Movers again in a heartbeat.

The night before the move the owner contacted us by phone stating they wouldn't be there until around noon due to a delay with a move that day. Given the recent snow storm we had, I could understand the delay. The owner assured me they would be done on time. When they arrived on the day of the move, the owner stated they couldn't do the move because our driveway was too steep. At no time did anyone from Reliable Movers ask about our driveway or access to our house. We were told this only hours before we had to be out of our house for closing. I was able to offer a solution and get them up our driveway. The team worked diligently to move our belongings quickly. However, upon unpacking the truck at our new house we discovered damage to several pieces of furniture and a new TV. The owner admitted he didn't bring enough moving blankets to adequately protect all items. Additionally their truck was not adequate to fit all of our belongings requiring us to quickly arrange for overnight storage. Overall it was a bad experience and I would not recommend this business.

You never know what you are going to get with a moving company and with the few moves I've done in the past 15 years I've been pretty lucky with decent service. I've used some local movers and some of the big names, and I have to say that these guys made this long distance move a great experience for us and I would highly recommend them. Andrew Wertz is the owner of the company. Apparently he purchased the company from someone else a while back and it was very obvious that he takes great pride in his work and holds his employees and contract hires to high standards. Everything was thoroughly explained and well coordinated for the move. The crew was very attentive to our requests and demonstrated the care of our belongings that you would expect for this price and level of service. While our stuff was in transit we received the appropriate updates as to the truck location and expected arrival time at destination. Packing and loading went very smooth and the only damaged item was a small MDF bookcase. Knowing that MDF furniture does not travel very well, I can't say I was displeased. That about summarizes it. Again if you are concerned about finding the right mover like we were, Andrew and his crews will handle it right. Great job.
