U-Pack is a god option to use when moving if you want someone else to drive your household goods…read moreand furniture to your new house. Granted, you have to load the trailer but they will give you several days and you aren't paying daily rental fees unlike U-haul. I think we had four days to load the trailer. With that being said, it's a little more difficult to load these trailers because the deck height is about four feet. They do provide a ramp but it is quite heavy and it takes two people to put it up and store it. Keep in mind that this is actually an ABF freight trailer and if you don't take up the entire trailer with your furniture, they may put other freight in the trailer although you install bulkheads with your own locks that will separate your furniture from any of their freight. It was actually a pretty good move so I was definitely satisfied.

I had to pay in full before the insurance claim was put through, which should have been my first red flag. Their insurance denied the claims, so my furniture was taken to a third party. The furniture was repaired beautifully, but bringing the items back, one item was damaged again. Putting ithe drawers back into a chest, a track was broken. I requested a third party to come repair the track, as I no longer trust this company with any of my belongings. Johnny currently has not gotten back to be regarding ordering new tracks. When asked, Johnny was upset that I left a negative review, and the lack of professionalism is exhibited via text message shown. This was after my furniture was damaged for the second time, and the track of a drawer broken. This company exhibits a lack of care for your belongings, lack of care for your time, and lack of professionalism. Do not trust them with your valued items.

Add on working while moving and other additional stressors, and I was bracing for the worst case scenario. I went in expecting a nightmarish move like our last experience (with another company), only to be surprised by how smoothly everything went in comparison to all our previous moves. Only a few minor things were damaged - nothing we can't live without or get replaced. The 3 man crew who completed our move were cordial, and were very careful and respectful of the furniture and properties. Their team leader was experienced and imparted some helpful advice on how to fix the legs of my old upright piano that had been damaged in a previous move. While this job certainly went overtime, the cost was reasonable for our shoestring budget. These young men worked hard, and my family and I really appreciate their efforts and due diligence. Loading time was nearly 10 hours, but it wasn't for lack of effort on the movers' part. Unloading took 11 hours. We had two casualties during the move. One was a china cabinet, which suffered shattered glass during the trip. The foreman who was unloading us said it was badly packed. That's what prevents this from being a five-star review. A cheap bookcase was also damaged beyond repair, but that was no big deal. Price was surprisingly affordable. In fact, O'Brien's/Allied's bid was less than half of Gentle Giant's.

During the move, the crew scratched my walls and caused significant damage to my furniture--damage so severe that it is beyond repair. The worker was verbally aggressive, yelling at me and behaving in a deeply disrespectful manner, which was especially unsettling as a woman being spoken to that way in my own home. Despite purchasing furniture insurance, the claims process took over six weeks, only for the company to offer repairs on brand-new furniture rather than replacing items that were clearly damaged beyond reasonable repair. The claims manager was also dismissive and rude, further compounding the frustration. I strongly urge others not to hire this company.
