Horrible experience! Unprofessional, unaccountable and will only leave you stressed and frustrated, on YOUR moving day! VERY misleading company!!!
Booked July 1 for a move anytime the weekend of July 22nd - company owner, Kalie, selected Sat July 23 - only to now state that Saturdays are their busiest day, even though I was available ANY day that weekend and SHE chose Saturday for us! Received an email confirmation the day before, stating moving crew would arrive the following morning between 8 and 9:30am. Broke down beds the night before, and slept on mattresses, to help with process time morning of the move - everything else had been pre-packed, labeled and ready to go. Woke family up on moving day at 7:30, to be ready when movers arrived between 8 and 9:30pm. Received a text message that morning at 8:10am, from company owner Kalie, stating crew member had a fever and she had to cancel entire planned crew, due to Covid protocol - texted that she had another crew coming between 1 and 2pm - then texted again shortly after stating it would be closer to 2pm. Nobody showed up at 2pm. Contacted owner Kalie and went back and forth with her several times until I received a call from a "crew leader" at 3:45 stating that new crew would arrive around 6pm, as they were finishing up another move and were an hour away Three movers arrived at 5:50, (approx 9+ hours after initial time) in a 26' uhaul - no shoe covers on, no company T-shirt's/hats and only one mover spoke/read English. Was supposed to sign contract upon arrival, and was presented with absolutely nothing even showing they worked directly for Movers Plus.
After being told by the company owner Kalie, via text, that, "We include floor runners, tools, and dollies. We protect your walls, fixtures, floors and of course your items throughout the entire process," we asked the crew three times to lay down floor runners on hard wood floors - they never did, and were only concerned with "starting the clock" as we were their final move of the day and they were clearly exhausted. At the tail end of loading the truck, they damaged the living room wall with our VERY heavy couch (were aware this was the heaviest item we had, when initial booking took place and again when movers arrived), as they never protected the walls at all, throughout the entire process.
Once they arrived to our newly built home, they once again did NOTHING to protect the floors or walls, as the company owner stated they would - ended up slightly nicking master bedroom door frame . All boxes were labeled to show what room they were to go in - since 2/3 movers didn't speak English, I still had to direct them where to put EVERY single box! They finally completed the job around 10pm (4 hours total). When the "crew leader" called to collect payment by phone, I informed her of my dissatisfaction, overall, and the damage to the wall. I texted her a photo. She offered a very small discount for the 9 hour delay, to which I was not satisfied, but said that I would pay however I wanted to know what they would do about the wall damage - without even taking my payment, she told me she would have the company owner Kalie call me immediately. We then hung up and a man called me, even though this is a female owned business - always communicated with owner Kalie, since July 1. He was extremely rude on the phone, acted inconvenienced with me, complained how late it was (after 10pm) and that he was trying to cook for his 5 kids, spoke over me and did nothing but make me feel like I was the problem - even started off the call stating he was told I "refused to pay," which was 100% inaccurate! He ended up taking a little additional off the original discount, by the team leader. I asked him what they planed to do about the damage to the wall and he stated they already gave me a discount, to which I stated that took care of the disaster of a day for my family, who were excited about our move prior to waiting ALL day for our movers to arrive, however did not take care of the damage done to the wall. They said they would contact me the following Monday or Tuesday. Well, it is August 6, two weeks following move date, and I have not heard a word. I have reached out, with zero response back to me.
Do yourself a favor and choose one of many, many other moving companies in the DFW Metroplex! Our Movers Plus experience can be summed up in three words - A COMPLETE JOKE! This is the most unprofessional company, that has no respect for your time or for the planning you put into your moving day! I'm appalled by this entire experience! Horribly run business! read more
