They completely remodeled my entire backyard and turned it into something I'm proud to show off. They poured new concrete that came out clean, smooth, and perfectly done. Then they installed artificial turf that looks incredibly real and leveled everything out so it flows perfectly. On top of that, they built a beautiful retaining wall and even added a garden area that honestly tied the whole space together and gave it that finished, high-end look. What really stood out was their attention to detail and work ethic. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy--everything was done right the first time. The crew was professional, showed up on time, and kept me in the loop the whole way through. You can tell they take pride in their work, and it shows in every part of the project. Here's one of the reasons I went with Genaro. As a registered civil and structural engineer, I deal with general contractors daily as a full-time job. So you can say I have an eye out for lazy contractors. Genaro was the first contractor to arrive out of 5 roofing companies I reached out to. (Note High Mountain does way more than roofing, but my review is limited to this scope). Not only was he the first to arrive, but he was also the first to email me a professional quote. He took a good look and took accurate measurements. Accurate measurements allow him to have a competitive bid. His number came in lower than I had expected and before any other quote came in, I decided to sign him up. After a week, I did have lazy quotes come in and all were higher. My instinct was right about him. My house was built with T&G roof and foam insulation but lacked the plywood on top. (Shocking right!!) This was an obvious change order and as a structural engineer, I knew this was not covered in his original quote. Normally this would be a good opportunity for a huge change order, but his quote for the added service was very reasonable. Once the change order was approved he picked up 40 sheets of plywood within a day and started to install it the next day. Genaro is very price conscious and was willing to drive his truck down the hill to get better pricing. On top of that, I saw a very little delay in the schedule. I could see another contractor saying, "Well Big Bear is out of plywood so it will be another week. We'll come back another time." I was truly amazed at his good work ethic. In addition, Genaro has a big crew that comes to finish a job sooner, but I told him I was good with his timeline. So what is the advantage of having a big crew? Well if it's about to snow in 3 days, better get more people to cover up the roof with black paper! Sure enough, he made it in time for the storm! The inspection went smooth and the roof was completed before the storm. Skylight looks nice! Can't ask for more and will be recommending them to my friends and yes he's a local. I typically do not write a long review but seeing that High Mountain had 0 yelp review, I had to make it count.

Since then, I've been getting compliments on my roof. They also moved a wall heater for me and did a great job patching up the wall. Dan Kinslow and team did a great job with some home improvements in our Lake Arrowhead house. They…read morejacked up and stabilized our decks, which were slanting due erosion at the footings. They also opened up two doorways between our living room and dining room which gave a much more open floorplan vibe to the house, and allowed us to take better advantage of our great views. They updated a window in our primary bedroom and put a half lite door in a guest bedroom -- both of which let in much more light and access to the views. Dan is savvy about building and trustworthy. Junior and Tony do solid work, they're personable and respectful. Overall we're very pleased with the results and the cost was reasonable. We recommend Dan and team, and we'll be doing more projects with them in the future.

Gilligan construction was recommended to us by our property manager. Brian came out to diagnose a…read morewater intrusion issue that another contractor either created or exacerbated when replacing our water main and then would not come out to fix their own work. He found the issue quickly and recommended some permanent fixes to keep the water from getting in under the foundation and into our build up and then lower level / storage closet after big rain storms or heavy snowfall. Brian was very communicative and transparent about the whole process. The pricing for the project was very reasonable. His crew retrenched the line, moved the stop and waste valve, installed a French drain, added a retention wall, and did several other things to thoroughly mitigate the water intrusion. They finally laid a cement pad in the front of the house to replace the original deck and to further keep water away from the foundation. Very pleased with the result and the timing in which they were able to complete the project. Daniel and the rest of the crew were very responsive, friendly, and were always available to answer any questions I had. I couldn't be happier and am confident that we wont have any issues moving forward with water intrusion at the front of our cabin. Thank you to everyone at Gilligan Construction!

Additionally, there were stepping stones that needed to be maintained in place and the grass installed in a flush style around them. Aspen did a great job with the installation and made sure to have the stepping stones be stabilized when we noticed two were wobbling. The grass looks very realistic and we could not be happier. Finally I was able to talk to the owner who explained the curb looked ok to him. We discussed the problem further and he agreed to fix the problem. I'm still waiting. I will have another contractor complete this job I would not recommend Aspen Construction due to their work ethic and poor customer relations.
