While our budget didn't allow us to complete the entire project at this time, we moved forward with a portion of the work and couldn't be happier with the results. They completely remodeled my entire backyard and turned it into something I'm proud to show off. They poured new concrete that came out clean, smooth, and perfectly done. Then they installed artificial turf that looks incredibly real and leveled everything out so it flows perfectly. Hired Bonafide Earthworks to install, (in Benjamin's words "a beautiful driveway, you can trust me.") The 3 pictures only show part of what I get to live with. I am in complete disbelief. The conversation where you threatened us, Mr.& Mrs. Murry was captured on ring video and audio and will be disclosed to the contractors board and at the time a claim is placed on your bond. I know you are unaware but the 6 cameras at our home have audio surveillance. When you mentioned the history of yelp. We have never yelped anyone, ever. When you go on public forum and make accusations you can be held liable. The pictures that are posted are what we see in our natural lighting every time we enter or exit our home at night. You are correct in saying we've had a terrible time finding quality contractors up on the mountain. Not one of them has left without being fully paid and has not had a negative comment on yelp or Google. So, congratulations you are the first. It's been about 4 years since Ben and his crew came in and laid asphalt, cement, and built our retaining walls. Our home burned down during the 2007 wildfires, and it took years before the rebuild happened. We had nothing but dirt and brush on our property, and Bonafide came in and turned it into a beautiful oasis. During the last four years, everything has held up beautifully and we are so grateful. Ben and his employees were so kind and patient with us. We changed our minds about several things during the process and they never batted an eye. They were so accommodating and communicative. Bonafide Earthworks did a great job putting in a much needed new storm drain, fixing retaining wall problems, and improving the back yard at my mountain home. The project took a few days. Bonafide Earthworks is fantastic! It is so rare to find contractors on the mountain that provide high quality and timely services, so I am especially pleased to recommend them. My project was roughly 1,200 square feet of asphalt overlay, about 110 square feet of new asphalt to expand an additional parking area, plus forming and pouring a concrete step. I found the owner (Ben) to be easy to deal with. He made the entire process easy for me by taking out a couple of trees, removing an old tree stump, and other prep work, but we were able to quick come to terms on price and schedule. As I'm a stickler for detail (as I've managed multiple large and complex projects) and know a fair amount about asphalt (having managed the rehabilitation of 1,700 linear feet of my access road some years back), I found the written agreement to be a bit vague; as a result, I drafted and emailed a comprehensive scope of work and Ben agreed to it without hesitation. Bonafide did all the prep work as well as the concrete step a day earlier than scheduled and I was very pleased that it was done so well; with one minor exception, all of the prep was very well done. Then, for the asphalt work, that was completed on schedule and with high quality. As they worked, Ben made a couple of suggestions and we worked out a couple of details - I was pleased with the communication as everything was done as I wished. Throughout the process I watched to ensure that shortcuts weren't being taken: his crew, however, seems dedicated to quality work. Additionally, as the project progressed, I noticed one aspect we hadn't discussed that needed attention - Bonafide went above and beyond their responsibility even though it was caught late and thus required some additional work. In the end, everything looked amazing and I am looking forward to Bonafide sealcoating the entirety of the project in a few months. Bonafide exceeded my expectations for quality work, meeting every commitment, and even going above and beyond. You know that you did price gouging and so be it. Lessons learned. You also know that you had me between a rock and a hard place - as I stated in my message to you - you changed the date of when you were coming because you were in the neighborhood so to state that this was your only job for the day is totally incorrect. You were here at my house approximately 3 to 4 hours (not even 4 hours) and you already had your equipment and material because you had gone to another property in Lake Arrowhead. Funny you sat on the phone screaming at Robertson's ready mix because you were charged stand by time on another job and it was $185 to which you stated you weren't going to pay because it was the principle --- well writing this is my principle because after I talked to a few general contractors that I know (who don't do asphalt) told me the same as I felt --- price gouging -- especially since you were already in the area and at another house and my little apron wasn't the first job. So you can post whatever you would like but when it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - chances are ---- IT IS A DUCK. And lets be clear it was price gouging. There isn't anything wrong with the work that you preformed - it was a nice job and that isn't what my message was about. Since you knew the job had to get done - you took advantage of a situation and that just shows me and people I know what kind of person you really are. read more
