Dan Kinslow and team did a great job with some home improvements in our Lake Arrowhead house. They jacked up and stabilized our decks, which were slanting due erosion at the footings. They also opened up two doorways between our living room and dining room which gave a much more open floorplan vibe to the house, and allowed us to take better advantage of our great views. They updated a window in our primary bedroom and put a half lite door in a guest bedroom -- both of which let in much more light and access to the views. Dan is savvy about building and trustworthy. Junior and Tony do solid work, they're personable and respectful. Overall we're very pleased with the results and the cost was reasonable. We hired Dan and his crew to remove the deteriorated plywood floor of our build up (aka basement area) and level out the dirt on the unused side to make it one large usable room. He poured retaining walls, shored up structural beams, and poured the concrete floor. They did a fabulous job. The build up now looks like a finished room. The concrete is so smooth and flawless. He was always checking on the site to make sure things were running smooth and always available for questions. He kept me in the loop of each step of the process, which I really appreciated. We hired Dan's company in June of 2025 to replace our asphalt parking pad with concrete, add terraced steps along the side of the house, and install a concrete patio pad under our existing deck. Very sad experience. Overall, they gave me the impression many times over that they won't bother with your project unless it is worth their time (at least cost $1,000). They keep boasting that they are very booked- but man is it so difficult to get anything started with them. Something which doesn't require a whole lot of time- or at least- be professional and provide periodic updates to their intended client. For example, they finally came down to look at the property and I have been waiting a month to get just a quote! When I did ask about it- the impression I got was again them failing back on their 'busyness.' A whole month for a quote for a small project? I never experienced anything like that before. We just added a parking deck to our home and selected Dan Kinslow to design and build the project. He and his crew did an excellent job. The quality of their work is top notch and Dan handled everything with the county, AWAC, the architect, and the structural engineer.
