The store itself isn't the most organized or aesthetically appealing, it's a big melting pot of sports all in one place. Seek and find what you're looking for on your own, the staff is great at checking you out and stocking stuff but not entirely helpful at finding things or on the customer service side. No worries though, if you're at big 5 you probably know what you're there for anyway. My family and I ventured into this store for some sweet toddler kicks (shoes), and we left with faces and shoes aglow scoring some awesome spider man and frozen light up sandals! When it was finally my turn, the employee refused to even run the California ammo eligibility check on my driver's license. The reason? My license shows my city as "Rancho Cucamo" instead of spelling out "Rancho Cucamonga." This is a standard DMV abbreviation because the full city name is too long to fit on the license. Instead of simply running the check and letting the system decide, the employee said he didn't want to process it because the city wasn't spelled out fully. Waiting that long just to be turned away for something printed by the DMV was extremely frustrating. I understand stores have to follow California laws, but refusing to even try the check after a two-hour wait felt unprofessional and like a waste of a customer's time. Hopefully Bass Pro Shop improves training and customer service at the ammo counter so others don't have to deal with the same experience.

While I was waiting, a sales rep came in and she chose to prioritize meeting with the rep instead of helping me, even though she knew I was there and waiting. After standing around with no acknowledgment or update, I decided to leave. It was clear that helping a paying customer wasn't the priority. I ended up going to another ski shop down the street where I received great service and spent about $1,800. If you're serious about buying skis, you may want to consider a shop that values its customers' time.
