Bikes, locations for rides, selection, and all with no pressure. We rented four bikes for an hour, and they treated us like we rented them for the whole day. They took the time to explain everything to my littlest. Even though she's 10, he talked to her professionally and like she was an adult. We had a basket on one bike, bungee chord on one, and my backpack made it easy for us to do most shopping we needed for the week without using the car. We reserved our bikes well ahead of our visit to ensure we'd have what we needed. We selected GetBoards because they offered overnight pricing and a range of bikes to meet our needs. We reserved two cruiser style bikes for around-town use but I upgraded to an adventure style bike since it was more comfortable for me to ride. I'm 6', my wife is 5'3", and we were both very comfortable on our bikes. The prices were fair and competitive. We know this because we shopped around before reserving. There was a modest, discounted overnight fee, but with our multi-day rental discount e bikes were an affordable addition to our stay. Matthew helped me when I picked up the bikes and he was friendly, informative, and super patient given it was our first time using e bikes. He ensured I knew how to use the bikes, checked that the headlights were working on both bikes, and set us up with helmets, locks, and chargers before sending us off. We will most definitely rent e bikes from GetBoards the next time we're here. Whether you stroll this path or ride it, you will witness nature at its pinnacle. From the gorgeous lake, towering pines, colorful wildflowers and snowcapped mountains, the Good Lord did not skimp when it comes to eye candy. Just this morning I caught a glimpse of three coyotes frolicking in the lake. I saw ducks, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, and a variety of birds all enjoying the beautiful lake they call home. These peaceful surroundings beckon me every time I visit Big Bear. Be sure to visit this glorious path!

There are signs that say no motorized bikes but that's all I saw on a Saturday afternoon. I'm sure they want to keep it slow so it's safer for all. Since it was full of lots of part time riders and many walkers bike educate could be improved. Overall, it's a very easy path and kids will do just fine but I suggest helmets and bike signals should be reminded and discussed before any ride.

I'm not sure if all kayak places have this, but it was nice that they had pads specifically for dogs to sit/lay on so that they're comfortable. I had a rat infestation in my house for about a month. I tried catching them myself but only got a couple and decided to hire the professionals. Seth took care to make sure all entrances to my house were sealed and answered various questions I had regarding the rats. As of today all of the rats are gone and I am very happy. My only complaint is the front desk not booking me properly. I had to call multiple times to confirm and book appointments. A couple appointments I told them to book me for a couple hours because I still heard rat activity midway through the process, but the front desk waved me off and booked me for a 30 minute "trap check" appointment. However, when Seth came for those appointments he took his time and spent multiple hours at my house on several occasions sealing more entrances and setting more traps. Very happy with the workers but I think the process could have been sped up if the front desk had booked the workers properly and in a more timely fashion.

I've been an avid cyclist for a long time (over 50 years) and I find that most bike shops are in one of two categories. The first (often large chains like Performance) have staff that try to sell you on products they really don't know and often provide bad advice. The second category is usually seen in smaller shops (like Bicycle John's in Burbank) that every employee not only rides but is totally knowledgeable on what they sell. Therir mechanics are trained and often full service repairs. Bear Valley Bikes is definitely in the latter category. The owner, Derek, not only races but knows all aspects of everything he sells. He is UCI trained and has a passion of the cycling industry. He lives, breathes biking. Every mechanical adjustment/repair that has been done on any of my 5 bikes has been spot on perfect! Bear Valley Bikes is also the first in line to support any locally cycling activity from local rides to the very successful Tour de Big Bear. Bottom line: It is refreshing in today's society to find someone with honesty and passion that beiieves in what he says and does. Thank you Derek. My wife and I were in the market for ebikes. Searching on the internet we found the supply was limited. Derek and the gang at Bear Valley Bikes went the extra mile to find top of the line ebikes for me and my wife. Derek was able to provide a great deal on my bike. My wife's bike size is hard to find but after an extensive search, Derek was able to find one in Colorado at a different dealer. I purchased the bike and when it arrived, Derek did a custom build to personalize it for my wife. Derek only sold a few accessories on the second bike and provided great service so we could ride our ebikes together, soon rather than later. There are two locations so don't get confused. This is the location that is on Paine Street. The staff at this location was super friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of my questions about the different types of equipment available and helping me choose the right size and style for my ability level. They also took their time to make sure they were comfortable and snug, and adjusted them until they fit perfectly. They also helped me adjust my bindings to my preferred stance and checked my poles to ensure they were the right length. I could have waited until I got to Big Bear or Snow Summit and rented equipment on site but I didn't want to do that since the LINES are ALWAYS LONG and it costs TWICE AS MUCH than going just a few minutes away from the slopes. I feel and I KNOW that I saved time and money by going to these guys and I will use them again in the future.

Also refused to give me a refund for the already paid groupon that I had purchased and said to go through Groupon. Groupon states that it is the store's responsibility to give out refunds. Overall terrible experience and waste of $$! Why have an option for reservations and a place for rental information if there won't be anything available!? Do not recommend.
