It's a glorious display of sporting goods that delights anyone who likes to move their bodies and play fun games (who doesn't?!?). The store itself isn't the most organized or aesthetically appealing, it's a big melting pot of sports all in one place. Seek and find what you're looking for on your own, the staff is great at checking you out and stocking stuff but not entirely helpful at finding things or on the customer service side. No worries though, if you're at big 5 you probably know what you're there for anyway. My family and I ventured into this store for some sweet toddler kicks (shoes), and we left with faces and shoes aglow scoring some awesome spider man and frozen light up sandals! The gentleman who helped me was SO NICE and INFORMATIVE. Despite being quite busy, he was quick and efficient and completed my boot fitting in under 20min. I wish I could remember his name! Also, I feel like sometimes experienced skiers/snowboarders can be a little impatient with newcomers, but this was absolutely not the case here. Everyone was kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Plus, the quality of goods sold here is much higher than at other places. If you're new to snow sports or an aficionado, I couldn't recommend this place more. While I was waiting, a sales rep came in and she chose to prioritize meeting with the rep instead of helping me, even though she knew I was there and waiting. After standing around with no acknowledgment or update, I decided to leave. It was clear that helping a paying customer wasn't the priority. I ended up going to another ski shop down the street where I received great service and spent about $1,800. If you're serious about buying skis, you may want to consider a shop that values its customers' time.

I'm a beginner snowboarder and wasn't sure what I was looking for and my boyfriend is intermediate. Jeff helped both of us out with allowing us to try on many different boot styles and sizes. We did not feel rushed or pressured at all. He was very knowledgeable about all the boots and was very efficient in getting our boots all during a rush. We went to another store the day prior and my boyfriend had gotten boots there that were the wrong size due to not much help and knowledge from the workers. He ended buying boots here feeling great and with more knowledge after Jeff helped me AND they even cost less ! Grateful for a family owned store with great employees. It was around noon and most places won't let you pickup that early, but the shop was real accommodating with renting a day early. Greg even offered us a free helmet (which we didn't need, but real nice). We were also able to return way after hours. In addition to such great service, the mid week value was incredible. Best place to rent on the mountain by far, going back here when we come back. FYI, currently only the Big Bear Blvd. location is currently open.
