Bikes, locations for rides, selection, and all with no pressure. We rented four bikes for an hour, and they treated us like we rented them for the whole day. We had a basket on one bike, bungee chord on one, and my backpack made it easy for us to do most shopping we needed for the week without using the car. We reserved our bikes well ahead of our visit to ensure we'd have what we needed. We selected GetBoards because they offered overnight pricing and a range of bikes to meet our needs. We reserved two cruiser style bikes for around-town use but I upgraded to an adventure style bike since it was more comfortable for me to ride. I'm 6', my wife is 5'3", and we were both very comfortable on our bikes. The prices were fair and competitive. We know this because we shopped around before reserving. There was a modest, discounted overnight fee, but with our multi-day rental discount e bikes were an affordable addition to our stay. Matthew helped me when I picked up the bikes and he was friendly, informative, and super patient given it was our first time using e bikes. He ensured I knew how to use the bikes, checked that the headlights were working on both bikes, and set us up with helmets, locks, and chargers before sending us off. Now let's begin, Check-in was fine, but things quickly went downhill. We were initially 3rd in line for the ski demo 'expert'. He seemed to be quite knowledgable to his credit and took his time with each customer. However, despite us waiting patiently, he started having people who arrived much later, cut in front of us. We somehow go from 3rd in line to being 16th. We stayed patient up until this point, until he got a little too excited with this younger girl behind us. This was the final straw. This is when I finally spoke up that we've been waiting a long time and needed to be taken care of first, when he got extremely salty. At this point his mood had shifted quite drastically. He starts by saying I notice you put 'Intermediate' as your ski level. For context, I was on the Mammoth Ski Team for 2 years when I was much younger. That being said, I hadn't skied in a few years by then and grew a few inches so I didn't remember my exact ski height. Continuing throughout our conversation, he says "Oh if you were an intermediate skier, you'd be able to know what your ski height is." Then proceeds to say this 3 more times throughout our interaction. The ski boot fitting station wasn't that helpful either as he had given me an ill-fitting boot that had a massive divot by the toe section. I proceed to hand it back and ask for him to get me a new pair after explaining the situation. And he blankly looks at me and asks if I need a new pair. This store was very disorderly and condescending. As an Asian customer, I feel like preferential treatment was given to others. This was not my interaction with Dustin (the owner that responds to these Yelp comments), but one of his employees.
