Nice little brewery with a relaxed atmosphere. If you're not a beer drinker, the drink selection is pretty limited since they mainly focus on their craft beers. They don't have a kitchen, but they host rotating food trucks, which is a nice option. We visited with our dog, and it was very pet-friendly with plenty of outdoor seating. Most of the picnic tables have umbrellas, so finding shade wasn't an issue. The only downside was that we occasionally caught what smelled like garbage, which I believe was coming from a nearby dumpster. Overall, it's a good spot to relax with a beer and your pup if you're in the area. read more

I wanna talk about how good the beer was here and the fact the person I came to visit is in walking distance. Early Friday afternoon before the rush came in was the perfect time to show up. I went with the four glass taster offering and it was hitting on all cylinders. Not a very big seating area but it was enough for us and everyone havin a pint. What I thought was really cool was all the paper birch paintings around. All that aside all 4 beers I sampled were straight on point. If I ever get the opportunity to come back to Golden I will be sure to stop at Mountain Toad again. read more

This was my last chance to have a good experience in Golden for some drinks and I was definitely pleased with my service here. I forgot the gentleman's names that were serving yesterday, but they not only made me and my partner feel welcomed but also gave us recommendations! We stayed here and ordered a couple beers, left smiling, and made plans to come back for their event nights (definitely looking forward to cheese night). Craft brewery in Golden . Yes there are other folks that make great beer here other than Coors. Stop in and try their Tasmanian pepper berry saison. It has a nice character to it. If you like your IPAs, try their Stratacaster. The weather will eventually get warmer around here, so stop in for a few tastes. Food trucks on hand . Stopped here coming down out of the Rockies and back to Denver for the night. It's in a seemingly charming neighborhood and was easy to find from the freeway. The bartenders were very friendly and chatty. We talked about their beer selection and I sampled enough that my husband drove the rest of the way into Denver. The space is pleasant and seemed to be a good size. It wasn't particularly busy when we stopped in on a Saturday night, but the folks that were there were chatty and friendly to the out-of-towners. We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon on the way to the mountains. The taproom wasn't super busy and we got our pints quickly. I got an orange gose that was good and we also got several tasters to try. My favorite was the Winter Palace, a bourbon barrel stout which checks in at 11% ABV. I also really liked the Totally Hazed NEIPA. The servers were friendly and the playlist was lit with artists such as Portishead and Radiohead. I'll definitely stop by here again. read more

4.5 stars. I've been visiting Golden a lot more these days, and it's such a charming place. I'm totally in love, and breweries like Mountain Toad are a huge part of that. Came here with a friend who lives in Golden. We ordered beers at the main bounter and joined everyone else on the outdoor patio. Spacious, dog-friendly, and woohoo there was a food truck! I'm enamored with the Hazy Melon IPA they had at the time of my visit. Looking at their website, there are so many interesting flavors like pear, sage, lavender, passionfruit, blueberry, etc. I'm a huge IPA drinker, but I'll branch out and explore other beers once in awhile. I have spent a lot of Golden but only recently visited Mountain Toad, after which I was sure disappointed that I had never visited before! Right on Washington Ave in Downtown Golden, it's a cute little building with a few parking spots in front and plenty of street parking nearby. The bartender was super nice, and gave us some samples before deciding on what we wanted. I loved the variety of beer options, and really enjoyed the Blueberry Kölsch that I ordered. My boyfriend really enjoyed his beer as well. There's plenty of seating inside, and a nice patio outdoors. On a weeknight, it was quiet enough inside that it looked like some were studying or working. This is a great spot to go with a group to hang out. From the fliers inside, it looked like they have lots of trivia and other events going on - all of which I would join if I lived closer or was in the area again during one! Small taproom, spacious patio, and all the beers I've sampled after two visits have been tasty. Specifically the Golden Lotus (Hazy Pale) and Mt. Zion (Flagship IPA). This was one of my last stops prior to COVID-19. It was interesting to see the change this past weekend. The taproom has implemented updates to keep their tables socially distanced, requiring folks to wear facial coverings until seated, and tons of hand sanitizer all around. The patio is the real seller here. Whether a hot afternoon or a cool summer night. I'd assume they typically have food trucks and/or live music if it weren't for the current environment. Mountain Toad Brewing has been on my must see list for a hot minute. So when I found myself in Golden, post Yelp event, heading over to check out their DudeTOADerfest was clearly the only option I had. So away I went with my brewery bestie, Kristin M. SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: I love it! The taproom its self is on the smaller side, but they feature an impressive patio space. The tap listing is reminiscent of a table of elements. Most of the seating, both inside and out, is community style so go on and make some new friends! SIPS: I'll start this by divulging that I am a sucker for ANYTHING hibiscus! So naturally I had to sample the Hibiscus Kolsch. I'm not the biggest kolsch fan, but this one was easily one of my favorites! The hibiscus added a subtle tartness to the brew. I also sipped on the Alpine Mine Grisette. I greatly enjoyed both! SUSTENANCE: While they don't serve up eats of their own they do host a variety of food trucks on the above mentioned patio. This particular evening the hosted two trucks - the names of which escape me now. They host a variety of food trucks - check out their website for the full calendar! SERVICE: The staff was clearly swamped. Yet they made ample time to offer up splashes of the various brews. Mountain Toad Brewing was def a great way to wrap up our evening in Golden. This was one of my favorite beer stops. It wasn't the largest brewery, they did have nice outside seating, cool ass view with the toad. They had a food truck on hand. Looks like the brewery originated in someone's backyard. Which always leads to a good story. The beers that I had were superb. Felt like they had a lot of beers to choose from. I was stoked to check out this brewery while visiting Golden for the day. It is very close to the main drag, just a couple blocks walk. Right away I appreciated the beeriodic table, which organized the available beers by style. I gravitate towards the darker brews so it made my job easier to pick my drafts. There is a big outdoor seating area and a smaller indoor area. More importantly, there are some board games to borrow! I am always done for a pint and a game. Mountain Toad is a really fun place to hang/go in Golden, CO! Their patio is secluded off to the side of their building and has tons of picnic tables for hanging out and enjoying some beers. Beer: we've had the white ranch wit and blueberry kolsch and have loved both! Very reasonably priced (prices comparable to other microbreweries in the Denver region). The other nice thing is that they frequently have food trucks. I've loved all of the food they've had thus far!
