This was literally the worst customer experience I've ever had. My wife and I drove 30 minutes…read more from Centennial to try out Golds Gym for the first time. After walking around and seeing body builders left and right, we decided this wasn't a great environment to build confidence for 'normal' or 'average' gym people. My wife is really into fitness and this was the birthday event for us to have time at a new gym with the kids in school. We paid for day passes online ($25/ea) and I stuck around at the receptionist counter to get a refund while my wife went out to the car. We were in a rush to go try out a different gym so I was anxious to get out of there. The person at the desk sat on hold on the phone ignoring me and the person in front of me for about 5 minutes. Finally after getting off the phone, she acknowledged me. I asked for a refund, she said she would have to ask the manager, Olivia Something. 2 different times the front desk person went back to tell the manager, I was waiting. From where she was in her office, she was directly in my line of sight and could feel me looking at her. After waiting about 8 more minutes I went and stood at her office door and asked her to refund me so I could leave. She talked to me like I was stupid and said she could only refund my wife because she didn't see my name associated with a purchase. I could see my name on the computer screen and pointed that out to her. She said there was no purchase associated with that name, which is ridiculous because I had to put my credit card information in for my day pass. In the end I was so frustrated I just left, $25 and an hour and a half wasted on my wife's birthday. Thanks, Golds Gym, and General Manager Olivia! You guys are setting new heights for customer service standards everywhere. 0 out of 5 stars. I sent this review to the Golds Gym Facebook account and there response verbatim was "Hi Joshua, Thanks for reaching out! For any questions about memberships, cancellations, billing, or feedback, please contact your local Gold's Gym directly."

We let the gym know and they promptly charged me a second month, which was understandable, however the next week I was charged a third time. Then I filed a dispute with my card provider. At that time, Gold's was made aware of the dispute. So the manager called to threaten me. He then laughed at me for asking why I was charged so much for only one month of use. Then he said he would leave my membership live and not allow me to cancel running up my credit and pushing me into collections. He was very happy about telling me this. It was the worst phone call I have ever had from any business. I will never set foot in that door ever again. Read your contract. If you want to leave, its nearly impossible, once you do find a way, you are locked into more payments and then you will probably deal with what I just experienced.

O have never been to a group fitness class like this before, and I have always been way too…read moreintimidated to give it a shot... until now. I'm trying to find a style of training that would fit my goals and motivate me to push myself more than just wandering around the gym by myself. Orangetheory offers a free class for first-timers and my experience was absolutely worth the initial anxiety of walking into a completely new setting. The usual experience wouldn't normally not include the tour, explanation, and follow up that the free session does (unless you have questions of course), but my experience was 100% positive all around. I visited for a Tuesday 11:15am class and Hannah was the group's instructor. I showed up about 30 minutes early to walk through the class process, get a tour of the gym, and explanation of the various styles of classes offered. There are several lockers available to store your personal items, and showers and restrooms are available if you need them. The whole space is very clean and this location doesn't have the same subtle funk in the air that a lot of gyms tend to have lol. The gym is large, the light is very forgiving (especially for those of us that turn into tomatoes while working out), and there are multiple dans that help to keep you cool while you're moving. The class is attended was very upbeat and motivating. Hannah was such an awesome coach and gives off a very positive energy; it definitely seems like she loves what she does, and in my opinion is very good at it. The class this day was pretty small, about 12 people to their standard 25 or so, so we were able to kinda spread out on the equipment. I particularly enjoyed the guided workout and direction we received from the coach; I feel like this keeps you focused on the workout and allows you to put all your energy into it rather than what I mentioned before about aimless wandering and whatnot. The positive reinforcement while working out is also super motivating, and the extra guidance (if you need it) on proper form and technique is extremely helpful and delivered in such a kind, supportive way. The membership is admittedly expensive, but I think could be worth the price depending on your willingness to commit to a consistent schedule. There are single classes and package options available for purchase in addition to the annual/monthly memberships for those that might want to just visit a handful of times over the course of a month or more, so options are flexible. The concept of Orangetheory is very cool, and I think more of a bang than your normal classes at a gym might be, so it's definitely worth at least a try to figure out if you think a membership is right for you!

One of the best things about having an Orangetheory membership is that you don't have to worry…read moreabout missing a class just because you're traveling! My fiancé and I were in the Denver-area visiting some friends -- and we decided to book a Sunday morning class at this OTF location with Rhea. Heads-up if you're coming from out of town -- you'll need to call the studio and give them a credit card to put on file AND plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your class to fill out some paperwork. You have to do this at every new location you visit -- but it's only once, and then they'll have all of your info on file. Rhea was an amazing coach -- so engaged and encouraging! I liked how this studio was set up compared to our home studio in that the instructor's microphone can connect with one of two speakers based on where they are in the room. For example, if you're running on the treadmill, you can still have the music blasting while the coach explains the lift instructions to the floor crew, and vice versa. One thing I will say if you're visiting this particular studio (or any in the Denver area) is that the altitude is no joke. My typical "push pace" was a lot closer to my normal "base pace," simply because my body isn't used to running at that level. Even still - I had a great workout, and Rhea helped us stay in touch with what our bodies needed in each component. Thanks so much, OTF Thornton! We'd definitely return for a class the next time we're in town.

About a year and a half ago, after having three children followed by nearly two years of pandemic…read moreliving, I knew that I needed to change up my fitness and nutrition habits. After many, many search sessions, I kept coming back to Body by Emilee and finally took the plunge to set up my initial consultation. And now, I'd probably describe myself as a superfan of Emilee's. From the get-go, Emilee was really approachable, kind, and very easy to work with. We started with nutrition sessions, and while I was definitely not eating the most healthy diet, I never felt bad talking about my habits. Emilee's approach is a "sure and steady" way of looking at things. Instead of something drastic we were able to look at my habits and make small, consistent changes over the course of the past year that has served me really well. Plus, nothing is off-limits. Emilee believes in creating a sustainable lifestyle of nutrition and exercise. And I'm more of a "moderation in everything" kinda gal, so I couldn't handle someone telling me there'd be no more, oh, I don't know, fried chicken or champagne or cake. From there, I was also able to add personal strength training with Emilee two days a week. While the sessions are never easy, Emilee is always very mindful about how hard we are working and adjusting my weights or my exercises to have maximum impact on my goals. And working out with her is honestly just a ton of fun. Beyond the excellent coaching aspect, Emilee has built a solid community of women around her, both the folks she coaches as well as just the people she knows in the world. She hosts regular events for everyone who trains with her that span a wide variety of topics, everything from a session on learning to add meditation into your routine to a spin class. Every time I attend one of the events, I marvel at how much I genuinely like everyone that is there. For me, a number on the scale wasn't (and isn't) my ultimate goal, but I have lost nearly 30 pounds over the past year, and a half (all the Covid weight and most of the baby weight), but best of all is how strong and healthy I feel. My body feels really good, and I feel really good about my habits these days. Finding Body by Emilee was like finding a light at the end of the tunnel, and my sessions with her have been such a bright light in each of my weeks.

Spending time to talk about tailwinds and how to make small changes created a lot of change quickly for me. She checks in with you and creates a holistic plan catered to your needs. I can't recommend her enough!  I will continue to leverage her further as coach in the future, as her method is aligned to what works for me!
