I have been in a weight loss yo-yo for years now. I have done diets and DVD exercises at home with limited success. Still, I was very inconsistent exercising at home mostly because of lack of time and other excuses. Since nothing I have done has worked but yet I still keep putting up weight (need to lose 40 #s now) AND I'm not getting any younger, I decided to look for professional help because I am convinced that my problem is mostly lack of physical activity and a personalized exercise program. Here's what I did: I googled "Gym, Transformation, [and my zipcode]". I found Core Progression and called for an appointment at location in Northglenn after reading that they provide the services I need plus some encouraging reviews. I got a lot of info on the very first visit and started off with 16 personal training sessions for 1 month. OMG! They paired me with a great trainer (based on a personality test they do on Day 1) who has got me pumped up and very serious about exercising. The weight loss approach is to build muscle to increase metabolism and burn fat coupled with good nutrition, which they really do not micromanage (which works for me). All the Core Progression staff is very friendly and the facilities are well equipped and clean. I feel safe and well taken care of while in there. I highly recommend my trainer, JARRETT. He is a very smart and experienced guy who always has a new workout combination on each session and I NEVER get bored. He knows exactly when to start a nice, fun conversation and when to request those 5 last hard repeats to then cheer on you. Actually, he knows more my limits now than I do and he uses that knowledge to push ~progressively~. What I like the most is that I feel challenged e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e. t.i.m.e. without hating going to the gym. ...and I must say that Jarrett's workouts ARE WORKING. I have lost 5 pounds and 1.2% body fat in just 3 weeks. I am sure I have lost inches as well by the way my clothes fit now ~will update this post later on~. It may not seem much, but for this 38 y/o lady it means success and a huge encouragement to keep going and push harder on those 5 last repeats! When something exceeds your expectations, you can't but talk about it. I joined Core Progression's 6-week challenge back in November. My goal was to use that as a kickstart to my own workouts. Nine months later, I was still training with them. The trainers, my fellow gym mates, and the benefits I was deriving made it hard to leave. The trainers are committed and competent. The main trainers I had the opportunity to work with were Erica, Kelly, and Kyle. They each have their own style which makes for great variety in your workouts. They are all committed to you and they begin to learn your boundaries quickly. Then, they gently yet consistently push you beyond them. They are quick to correct any bad form or offer tips to get the most from your training. The members I regularly worked out with were awesome. Always a mixture of experience and levels of fitness but we all had one goal--to get better and better! It is such an encouragement to see everybody's continual progress. We all started our journeys panting and barely making it through the first classes, but grew in strength and endurance to where we began challenging ourselves to increase the intensity of our exercises. Although my main goal was to kickstart my workout, I was reaping many other benefits. For example, before I joined I had annoying pains in my feet and other areas of my body. After just a couple of weeks the pains were gone! Also, I was working on a Masters degree while working full-time and caring for my family. The intense workouts were such a help to relieve the stress-- I loved it! So if you are looking for a place to take your fitness to the next level, you've found it. Movement. Just like any other word, it is lifeless before it is given meaning. Breathing life into a word these days is a simple feat. But it is rare, that you meet a someone who can breathe life into a person. Lauren is one of these people. I walked into her gym a bit defeated. If you've ever been an athlete that has fallen from glory you'll understand. Once regime and training had disappeared, the loss of it threw me into an abyss of junk food and self depreciating behaviors. I knew I needed help, and I reached out to her. Lauren reached into that vortex, grabbed a hold of my hand and let me know the old me was still there. Her consistent ability to push my limits through grueling circuits helped me rediscover my confidence as well as my strength. I came to her at almost 200 pounds and she's still with me at 175 and counting. She has breathed life into me through movement. I was looking for a trainer to shape my body and she has done that AND managed to feed my spirit. I have never been an athlete, worked out vigorously or even on a daily basis but after having two boys back to back (Irish twins) I knew I wanted to not only make a change for myself but for them and my future as well. I looked around for a personal trainer program and stumbled upon Core Progression. Husband and I walked in and spoke to Brandon (who is the nicest and most wonderful person himself) and now I am a month in. BEST decision! Brandon set me up with the ever so wonderful Rebecca Caiani. Wow. She is what one would call superwoman. Rebecca herself works out and takes very good care of herself, which not only inspires but follows through into her clientele. She uses the same integrity and perseverance with you as she does with herself! And it shows! She is a mamma herself and her style of training and encouraging is very efficient, nurturing and lasts beyond the personal training session. Rebecca has even worked on helping me with some jumping fears and balancing issues I just now discovered! She keeps me accountable while being strict and stern, but has a infectious smile that follows with encouragement. I work out with Kaleigh, and I cannot say enough about her. Every work out is challenging, interesting, and most of the time I have no idea that our hour is up. She keeps me focused and pushes me. Most important to me she is there watching every move to make sure its done safely and correctly so that I get every ounce of awesome from my work outs. I've been a client at Core Progression since August 2014. I initially came because I wanted to lose a little bit of weight before my wedding that was 8 weeks later. With most workouts I've tried over the last 20 years of my life, I just assumed that I'd do it for a little while but never imagined I'd ever WANT to stick with it. I never have stuck with any fitness program before, so why would this be different. Wow, is it ever different. Fast forward almost 2 years now and I can't imagine going anywhere else let alone not working out at all. It's part of me now. In the beginning I would find every reason to not go workout. I started going to Core Progression in April of this year. I should start by saying I was a little overweight and a lot out of shape. I had never worked out at a gym or with a trainer but knew I needed help to figure out how to get healthy. I saw their entry on Yelp and called. Jon, the owner, took my call and listened to what I wanted, not a weight goal, or a ripped physique but to just be healthy. I came in and immediately was put at ease, in this day and age when you can sign up for a service with no commitment that's a win. Jon puts his own skin in the game for your business. Now to what I have experienced: first Jon is awesome, I have never felt like I had to fit his program, but rather he has tailored my routine to fit my needs. The nutritional training has been just as good with Jon also willing to provide ideas, and if you have never made this commitment, you'll soon understand this is the hardest and most important part. In April of this year I was 245 lbs and almost 40% body fat. I'm now down to 2-5 lbs and about 25% body fat. Those are just numbers though, I feel great, in no longer tired or sick easily, I'm active and I feel better now in my mid 40s than I did in my 20s. I work out with Jon once or twice a week. He keeps me on my toes (sometimes literally) and targets areas that are important to me. There is always a warm-up and some stretching. He's got plenty of machines in his gym but we tend to use a lot of free-weights. He watches to make sure that you have the right form for each exercise and is very knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology. Jon is the owner and only hires the best trainers. I've also worked out with Sean and he too is very knowledgeable. I'm always given exercises that I can do at home with some weights or bands. Although I like to go to the gym, you do not need a gym membership when you are getting trained at Core Progression. They also have a very talented massage therapist, Rollie, as well as Dr. David Newton, a chiropractor. This is not your typical chiropractor. He doesn't just crack you and send you on your way. He evaluates any areas of pain and again uses exercises and other methods to correct problem areas. All the trainers here are professional and do their jobs well. I highly recommend Core Progression and all of the staff that I've observed. read more

I hate the average gym, but let me say that Core Progression, and Jon, are far from average. I worked out with Jon as my trainer for almost a year and my husband for two years (both of us twice a week). It's a very professional, yet fun place. You feel welcome, accepted and never judged!! You're not fighting over equipment and it's a clean facility, and when you leave you don't feel dirty like some gyms (due to lack of cleaning). Jon is great! He's very passionate about his work and really takes the time to learn "you" and your needs/wants. He pushes you to your limits and seems like he knows you better than you know yourself. He's extremely knowledgeable, very professional and you actually have a fun time exercising; the hour goes by so fast that it seems much shorter. He has even had me come in on unscheduled days to help me with back pain, and he has this wonderful stretch that is so invigorating, I feel like a new person each time. I can not say enough great things about this gym. I've been training at CP for about 6 months now and it has completely changed my life. As someone who was always extremely self conscious about not having a great body, being able to be confident in my own skin because of the hard work and great team at this gym has been such a blessing. The range of clients is amazing too. You've got Broncos Cheerleaders, Pageant Girls, Senior Citizens, and families all training together. I've had the experience of working primarily with Jon but had also had sessions with Dustin and Ashely and every trainer there is extremely well qualified and some of the best out there. I've worked with 3 other trainers before coming to Core Progression and have only felt truly challenged and seen amazing progress while working with the trainers here. This place is absolutely amazing. I was in desperate need to "get back into shape" per my physician and searched for the best of the best to help me do so. Needless to say, I had signed up and have just completed a 90 day training regiment in which I have lost 28 lbs due to the consistent professional assistance of Johnny Woodford. The entire staff at the Northglenn location are awesome and very personable but Johnny Woodford is a frickin rockstar. He has been very attentive to my physical abilities as well as my aches and pains through out the process. I have been very impressed with Johnny's knowledge of the human physique and ability to tailor workouts to maximize my gains in every aspect. I am a 40yo ex marine and have been in stellar shape for the first 32 years but can honestly say that I am now stronger and more mentally fit than I have ever been due to this experience. The staff at Core Progression are simply top notch, if you are remotely interested in getting in shape with the direction of a knowledgeable trainer......... I first considered getting into shape when a year ago while hiking in the backcountry of the Colorado wilderness I realized how out of shape I was. Over 200 pounds and never an "athletic" person, I knew I needed help. Core Progression was the answer. From Day-1 they listened, coached and taught me how to be healthy, fit and consistent. I came to Core Progression back in November 2015, looking to get back in shape and tone up after having a baby in May 2015. All of the trainers are really friendly and the overall environment is very comfortable and welcoming. Kaleigh is an awesome personal trainer there! She has been working with me to achieve my goal of getting stronger and back into shape! She has helped me regain a confidence in my physical ability in the gym and set new goals for myself as I get stronger. She always has me doing something new to challenge myself and cover areas that I am not used to working on. So far, my body fat percentage has gone down, I feel stronger and more confident, and am seeing the physical changes that I was hoping for. Lauren is a wonderful personal trainer who has well beyond helped me exceed my physical fitness goals! I'd like to tell you that Core Progression is good, but I wouldn't be truthful, they are GREAT! I have been working with Jon for over six months now and my shoulder injury has improved, as has my over all fitness. More importantly I am healthy. He sets up his clients with the right tools and proper direction so they can get in to shape, keep in shape, and be healthy. He's flexible and very client friendly. The other trainers at Core Progression are super friendly as well and have great attitudes for their clients. I absolutely love my trainer Matt Carrigan... He is professional, kind, motivating, enthusiastic and just fun to be around... He is my constant reminder of my personal goals and he always works with my crazy schedule... Everyone has those days where its hard to get to the gym, when life takes you by a storm, but he always gives me that "extra nudge" that I sometimes need of "YOU CAN DO IT!!"...
