I started going to Axistence Athletics in 2014. In addition, my son and girlfriend are also members. This "gym" really is different. First of all, their methods work. I am in my 40s but I am in the best shape of my life. I have improved my strength, flexibility, cardio, etc. Garret, Dan, and Ryan used their combined experience and knowledge to build an adaptive program that is truly effective. But it isn't just a gym, it is also an educational center. They have hosted classes on nutrition, survival skills, and more. I think they really understand that there is more than lifting weights to being fit. I also like that it is like a community. They host potlucks, BBQs, and other events for the gym members. And the community is diverse - different ages and physical abilities. We all get along and are supportive of one another. A few times I have seen fellow members finish their workout and then continue along someone pushing to finish their own workout. I highly recommend giving them a try. Joining Axistence has definitely changed a lot in my life. I now look forward to going to the gym, which is saying a lot since getting up at 5:30 to sweat would've been laughable six months ago. Everyday in this gym is different - some days I leave laughing about an obstacle course, other days I leave sweating like crazy, but they are all beneficial and fun! You not only get Dan and Ryan as trainers but as friends, along with everyone else you work out with. It becomes a group of people you can laugh with, commiserate with about sore muscles, and people who push you to be the best you can be. In addition to finally enjoying the gym, it's also providing great results. I can see the muscle, but I can also feel it. Every workout I surprise myself with how much more I can do than when I first started at Axistence. Not only does it show in the gym, but in everyday life; being able to take a hike is no longer a chore, but a fun challenge. This month is my 1 year anniversary of working out with the team at Axistence. Dan, Ryan and Garrett are not only knowledgeable and supportive, but are always looking for ways to improve. Over the year I've been impressed by the investment Dan and Ryan have made in the facility, their own training, and their bringing in specialists to work with nutrition, outdoor adventure and obstacle course racing. Their commitment extends to us as well and they are always ready with a one on one lesson (ie how to launch into a handstand push up - literally learned that one the day of the Crossfit Games WOD). I am 46 years old have put on weight in recent years so about two months ago I decided to give Crossfit a try and joined Axistence Athletics. I imagined large groups of people and very difficult exercises. Frankly, I didn't expect to last more than a couple of weeks. I could not have been more wrong. We work in groups but everyone gets personal attention and exercises are "modified" to the fitness level of the person. Each achievement is applauded (literally!) and I feel like part of a workout family as opposed to a customer or an ordinary gym member. Both Dan and Ryan are excellent trainers and very well studied in fitness, nutrition, and the human body in general. This is the first gym I have ever belonged to where I felt totally comfortable and great about myself! I've been training here for just over a year now and I've made huge progress to my fitness goals. I can honestly say this is the strongest I've ever been in my entire life. In October of last year I was able to get my very first muscle up! (After less than a year of training here) My dead lift is now almost twice my body weight. The list goes on. The best part is that I've been injury free this whole year, which is unheard of for most CrossFit gyms. I'm so thrilled to find a gym and trainers who take care of their clients and who really help prepare you for whatever Adventures you seek outside the gym. I recently signed up for their new Transformers program and have seen even more progress with the more individualized attention, nutrition coaching, and extra work out days/times. The trainers are very knowledgeable -not only about proper safe form during weightlifting, but also diet, functional anatomy, proper movement and can address other health issues (from injuries, to concerns about working out for the older member...)...they are also very supportive and everyone cheers each other on during the metabolic conditioning (workouts that really push you)...members are very friendly...I also like the emphasis on workouts related to biking, skiing, hiking, etc...they regularly organize mountain trips for different activities. The trainers scale everything (others may be lifting 300 lbs but I stop at 120 lbs), they change workouts to fit your abilities. Axistence has been a life saver for me. I don't say that lightly, meaning I have met a phenomenal community of people dedicated to physical and mental health. They have reinvigorated my competitive spirit and my want to be healthy and strong for life.The training and support has been fantastic. Having worked out my entire life I did not realize what I did not know with regard to mechanics, consistency and flexibility. Ryan, Dan, Jake and Garrett along with the community have helped me learn so much in a safe, supportive environment. I am so thankful for the coaches and the community especially during Covid. After being a member at another Crossfit gym previously, I was amazed at the level of care that the staff exhibits to each member. Not only do they make sure that you are doing the movements correctly, they are very attentive to making sure that you are using the proper weights. In addition, the programming incorporates Crossfit, MovNat, and seasonally adjusted exercises specific to the outdoor activities that we are all looking to do better. Going above and beyond the workouts, the nutrition classes made the biggest difference in my transformation. Knowing what to when, in the right proportions and at the right times contributed to actual body fat loss, while gaining muscle. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! read more

Discovered this gym while in town visiting family, and I have to say I am impressed. I learned more in the three or four days I spent working out here than I have in all the time I worked with my personal trainer back home. The owners are very knowledgeable in what they are teaching, and provided a very personalized work out for me with invaluable feed back regarding form and posture. I wish I could clone them and take home them with me. I think they need better signage out front, they can be a little difficult to spot if you don't know what you're looking for. Otherwise, the quality of the instruction and the facilities are top notch. read more

Axistence is owned by two trainers with an immense wealth of knowledge between them. I've been working worth one of the two for years, and when he decided to create his own gym it was worth it to follow him to this new location. The trainers specialize not just in crossfit but also have academic credentials and a love of the outdoors. The gym is very friendly and the other members are always supportive. I recommend it for anyone looking for group classes that can really kick you butt. read more

The high level of expertise and training here - including when it comes to nutrition and outdoor adventure - is truly impressive. The culture is great, too - unlike at other places where people don't know one another or where there's an "agro" type of competitive attitude, the members are friendly and supportive in a team atmosphere.
