I had to come on here and leave a review after the owner of Mountain Mike's Pizza did a huge giveaway for Teacher Appreciation Week. He gave away small pizzas to as many teachers as he could, no strings attached, just a genuine act. In a time where most of us are trying to make our dollars stretch. And shout out to staff who showed up and knocked each and every order out with a smile on their face, I feel bad. I don't know everybody by name because they're the real MVPs. I gave this location a bad review two years ago, but given that we don't eat pizza very much anymore and we've had good pizza from them a year ago, I gave them another chance. I was 100% disappointed in the "Everest." to be honest with you. That pizza was one of the reasons I went to that restaurant. they used to have full-size peppers and onions etc...It just was a really good pizza. Worth the extra $20 over other places. Yesterday, I could've bought a DiGiorno pizza for a better experience. I'm super disappointed and I don't think I'll ever order again from you again. You've had two strikes, you're out! We have always loved this location. I was always willing to pay more for good food. I can get "cheap" pizza anywhere. I prefer quality pizza. Ordered 3 large pizzas yesterday and I was just let down. The crust was awful...not what I'd had in the past. The Pikes peak with garlic sauce, was just a few pieces of meat and cheese, The "combination " was some pepperoni and sausage and "bits" of onion and peppers! Seriously? Is this what it's come to? The reason I loved your pizzas at a higher price, was you gave us our moneys worth. I can get "bits" of pepper and onion for way less per pizza. But the death blow for me was the Pikes Peak. Only 2 stars due to friendliness, I put an order in for 5pm. I'm off at 4:30 gets me time to pick it up on time. Unfortunately when I get home I need to put it in my oven due to it being cold. The pizza most of the time is on point, my problem is that they use doorDash for delivery. I pay for delivery plus a 15 to 20% tip.I expect them to be able to find my house and I expect my food to be hot when I receive it.These drivers don't have any way to keep your Pizza warm.Second time I received my pizza and the cheese is already set up. Waited about 45 minutes we understand it does get busy with pizza but when I came it was cut into extremely tiny pieces And not really satisfying it was no napkins in any of the napkin holders and the workers just genuinely just didn't look like they cared we had children with us so just unfortunate. Another large half Hawaiian half pepperoni & olive. You can not beat their pepperoni!!!! Hands down best pepperoni pizza for a chain restaurant! I am annoyed that they charge for ranch now , you get none with your order no matter how much you spend. In fact they even tax the ranch!!!!! So per ranch is 44 cents! The worst pizza I've ever eaten. Ordered a small to be delivered. Very little cheese, bad sauce and crust. Tasted more like it had been cooked day before. Was so bad I called back to get what I paid credit on another should I ever order again. Have ordered many from this place never were the best but not the worst and they deliver. All girl could do was give me 30% credit or make me a new one. Didn't feel like waiting till 8PM to get it. She told me I'd have to talk to manager who wouldn't be in till Tuesday. My last order was totally screwed up. Wings order of a total of 18 traditional wings was short a half dozen wings. My mini pizza which was supposed to be pepperoni sausage mushroom was a horrible black olive monstrosity! I called and was told my next order would be "comped! Went in this evening and (1) no wings available and (2) the comp was merely 35% off. I can understand if there's no wings there's no wings. A comp in the in the industry, however, means "no charge". Over the years I've managed a number of restaurants and this is the first time the meaning has changed. Had not the previous order been totally screwed up i wouldn't be that upset. Nasty place for a food establishment. I wrote a review on this place but somehow it was removed. Do not order food from this place until you make an on-site visit. It absolutely is the filthiest place serving food I have ever been to. Stopped after the movies with my grandson to pickup a couple of pizzas. I have been to Mountain Mikes on McHenry before but never the one on Prescott and Standiford. If you order delivery from this place, you need to visit the spot your pizza is coming from. I should have walked out immediately but my grandson was hungry. The place is nasty and unclean a place as I have ever seen. Food on the floor, which I am pretty sure has never been swept or mopped in a good long while. Not sure how this place passes the health inspection. The pizza was ok and didn't make us sick so that's a plus. Please visit this place before you order home delivery, you may want to go elsewhere. Just say no to this location!
