I was a longtime customer of this particular Me & Eds and I even wrote a positive YELP review for them in 2020, but then.. A few months ago I was having people over to watch basketball and decided to order buffalo wings. I specifically asked for "buffalo wings" to which the employee asked, "Would you like hot or regular?" I said, "regular." I picked up the order, got home to discover I had an order of very overcooked, plain chicken wings. (Who orders plain wings? Cooked, unseasoned meat is ruined meat) So, I called to let Me & Eds know I didn't get buffalo wings, that I couldn't bring back the order that evening as I had guests at my house and asked if I could return the order the following day... The employee, who I don't think had worked there very long, decided she needed to make sure I knew it wasn't her fault, but mine: "No you ordered plain wings, remember? I asked if you wanted regular wings and you said yes." I said, "You asked if I wanted hot or regular, which I assumed meant mild, so I said 'regular.' I would never order plain, cooked wings." Instead of just helping me, she decided to die on her "I'm right, you're wrong, hill." She then said she'd get the "manager. It wasn't the manager, but the most senior employee, and I just repeated what happened and simply asked if I could bring the order back the following day for a refund, as again, I had guests. "No" was her answer. "You have to return the order on the same day" which makes zero sense. What happens if someone picks up their order at 8:30pm, but notices they got the wrong order after the restaurant closed at 9pm? Are they told the next day that they can't get a refund? - Yeah, that was BS. I was then pissed. I left my guests in my house, drove to the restaurant, walked in with the order and both employees ignored my presence. So petty... I just said out loud, "Can I get a refund for this?" One of them said, with her back to me, "Yes." So I left the order and walked out. Weeks later I went through my bills and discovered that I never got the refund from Me & Eds, so I called and spoke to the actual manager. I told him nothing about his overly-argumentative employee, or the "you have to return your order on the same day" crap, and just told him about not getting a refund. After a brief conversation he said, "I'll look into it and get back to you," but just as he was about to hang up I had to ask, "Don't you want my name and number?" "Oh, yeah. What's your name?" - How the hell was he going to "look into" my not getting are fund with knowing who he was even talking to?? I still don't understand what this employee thought she was going to gain by arguing with me so vehemently. I'd been a regular customer there for 6, 7, 8_+ years and yet her arguing, then their petty "you have to bring your order back today" BS has resulted in me deciding to never spend money there again. read more

We were in Modesto to see The Nutcracker and decided to stop in after for supper. We haven't been to Me 'n Ed's since they closed the Lodi location. The pizza is still bomb! Just like we remembered! The dining area is smaller than Lodi was, but very clean! And the guy that waited on us (I think he may have been the owner) was so nice! Will definitely make a trip back!! read more

If you want to take a trip back to 25 years ago then Bam here you go. I first visited this Me n Ed's pizzeria in 2004. The decor has not changed one bit. It's extremely traditional Me n Ed's franchise. The inside has a distinct scent inside. Best I can describe it is an Asian mini mart. The pizza is awesome though. I ordered for takeout so there wasn't really a dine-in experience. The man making the pizza was extremely nice and friendly. The pizza was made perfectly. I also love the calzone here. There is a large one topping deal for 12.99. I'm not sure how a 2 topping is 19.99 though. However it was still awesome pizza. read more

We took our travel ball team here tonight. They are under new ownership and have already started the renovation process, looks great inside and looks bigger. The flooring is awesome. They are working with AT&T to get there phone line working. I tried calling and they told me that tonight. The pizza here is always good. We ordered 4 Large Pepperoni $17.99 and 1 combo $24.99 and they came out fast (ordered at 545pm and was on the table by 6pm, just in time for the players to arrive. Afterwards I bought the players the Cinna Treats, cinnamon roles bite size. 1 order feeds 4 people for $6.99 not bad and they were delicious. No wonder there was no people in the building, tried to call to order Friday around 7:30 and after several attempts gave up. Decided to order online and we were surprised by the 35min wait. When arrived, the first thing he said was "order for pick up?" Lol yes, of curse, since it was our order since all the lights were off and there was not a single fly in the building. We decided to dine in and the phone rang and rang and rang and he never picked it up!!!!omg who's the owner of this place, hopefully not the same guy that help us. Place was supposed to close at 10 and the guy literally turn off the lights In the kitchen at 9 and closed the door after we left at 9:30 smh. Our Keto Pizza Savior! Much to my horror, Pizza Plus in Ripon has stopped carrying cauliflower crust pizza and has switched to a rice base for their gluten-free crust. Oh the humanity! What are we poor Keto cult members to do?!? Do what I did I suppose after striking out on any Yelp recommendations and call every local pizzeria to see if any have cauliflower crust. Hit pay dirt on the 3rd call when I called Me-n-Ed's and my Keto husband and daughter were ecstatic! They've always been big Me-n-Ed's fans and now I'm one too! The price was slightly less than Pizza Plus, and can't beat the taste! We Keto people may substitute cauliflower but that doesn't mean we want it to taste like cauliflower! (Well Lord knows I don't!) I was raised on Me N Eds growing up in Fresno and always a fav pizza. Since I no longer live anywhere near a Me N Eds, I always stop off at this Modesto location when I'm in the area. Yesterday, stopped in and grabbed my usual pizza to go. Gosh, hard to complain about this, but there was entirely too much sauce and cheese. And my biggest complaint is all the toppings were piled in the middle. I asked for mushrooms and hard to find one on there. But holy heck, a big pile of olives smack dab in the middle. Do you no longer use canned mushrooms? That's what made ME pizzas unique and different from all the others. I don't know, maybe peeps just need to be conscientious of the fact that people like their toppings spread all around the pizza, not just lumped in the middle. I'll give it another try when I'm back in that area one day. read more

I've been on the search for really good pizza since I left the eastern half of the country. I've found two places that are reasonable, but nothing that makes me want to return every day. Tonight, we'd been over to the mall and I was looking for a snack, rather than a full meal. Generally, it's either tacos or pizza and I'd already had tacos today. I showed the list to my buddies and this place was recommended out of the list. I was looking at the huge "We I.D." banner and I cracked jokes with the person behind the counter about how strong the pepperoni was that we had to have ID for the pizza. (Please, drink responsibly, and don't overdo it with the pepperoni, either.) We ordered a 12 inch pepperoni, and three drinks. That was around $15, which isn't horrible. As far as I know, there were free refills...on the drinks, not the pizza. The pizza didn't take long. I expected them to have more business, given the recommendation. As soon as I picked up a piece, I commented on the corn meal on the bottom. I worked for likely the only pizza place in the country that used salt, because salt doesn't go black like corn meal or flour and therefore, doesn't have a chance to leave a bad taste in your mouth. That said, the pizza was good. The pepperoni wasn't sweet or sour, and there wasn't a pool of grease from it. Thin crust can sometimes be like saltine crackers but this was soft and crispy at the same time. If there was a problem, it's that one of the buddies was feeling sick afterwards. I can't say that the pizza or drink did it, though. I thought the balance of ingredients was good, and the taste was reasonable but not enough to pull me back every night. read more

So the website advertises a 3 topping pizza for $14.95. I arrived at the store and verified this with the person on counter. I've then proceeded to order a three topping pizza and a couple sides of ranch and my total came out to over $20. I did not get a receipt. After some thinking about the total while my pizza was cooking, I decided to ask for a receipt. It turns out I was charged $16.45 for the pizza. Before I left I asked the manager to please correct this mistake. He refused to refund my $1.50 unless I returned my pizza! I showed him the website advertisement and explained the error and he still refused!! I asked him if $1.50 was worth losing a customer over. I also explained that I live locally and have been supporting him for over 20 years. I removed my mask so he could see my face. He still refused a refund! Unbelievable! The elderly Asian man working behind the counter was so rude and not helpful whatsoever. I asked for a to-go box and he refused to give me one. Awesome place!! Our original place to go to was michaels pizza on carpenter road but that place was packed. So we yelped pizza and beer places near by and saw this place. Got to say, it wasn't a bad choice. We got 1 pound of very hot chicken wings and 1 pound of bbq chicken wings which was delicious. We also ordered an all meat pizza, the crust was perfect! It wasn't greasy as most places and the beer that the Asian guy recommended was perfect to wash all that food down. The place is a little smaller and not fancy, but what do you expect from a pizza place? The workers were chill and respectful and the place was clean. We went in an hour before their closing time and they didn't seem to mind at all. Thanks for the great service guys we will be back again. read more
