My new favorite lunch spot in Mayfair. Great atmosphere, bright, airy, with terrific service, phenomenal menu choices, excellent wines and other drinks. What more could one ask for? I was surprised that I'm one of the first to leave reviews as this place is certainly trendy. Reservations are highly recommended in advance, especially if you want to eat on the main floor rather than the basement level. Both are nice, but upstairs has the large windows and better vibe in my opinion.
Starting with the menu, there were three of us and I think we ordered 10 items. The ones I remember include
Pumpkin Fritto with Chestnut Honey --- amazing, gooey goodness.
Pembrokeshire Cockles --- wonderful sauce
Spider Crab Omelette --- divine, with lumpy crab meat.
Wood Roasted Autumn Vegetables --- farm to table simplicity at its best.
Ox Tail --- divine, one of the best I've had in years.
Rabbit with Braised Squid --- both were excellent and yet such a unique pairing.
Grilled Bread --- a carb-lovers dream. Could have eaten three of them.
Wood Fired Rice --- awesome, highly recommend, one of the highlights of our lunch. read more
