When searching for a restaurant for dinner upon arriving in London I found Scully. Sadly it was closed on Monday so we could not go but then we booked online for Wednesday night tasting menu. We were worried when a revised confirmation said it would be 2.5 hours vs 2 hours as we had tickets to a show that same night.. I messaged them and they said we could switch to a la carte and we would be out on time for our show. We arrived right at 5pm and were seated immediately. The inside is cozy and warm with an open kitchen where you can see all the chefs working. It was not busy this night so we had a very friendly and attentive server. The food was unique and flavourful and enjoyed by all. Our table had the corn bread, arepas, fish, cow pastrami, vegan rice & tofu plate and ended with a creme brûlée, variety of sorbets and a lovely gf/vegan cookie with zero waste banana sorbet. They even brought a nice sorbet with a candle for our son's bday:) Great experience, wonderful food and friendly staff. A definite must try! read more

Food 8/10 Mochi Dumpling: LOVE. Absolutely a must get. It was not shaped the way that I was expecting, but it was super flavorful and textured, in a pleasantly surprising way. The combination of ingredients really blew me away. Arepas: Yummy but quite small, and I even liked the eggplant dip, even though I usually dislike thta vegetable. Crisped Pork Belly: Could be passed on, it was a little cold and too fatty without enough crisp. Cod: Too creamy sauce for me, but it was very tender. Dark Chocolate Sorbet: Very yummy, surprisingly rich for what it is made of. Not the happiest about the 9 pound shot they added to my kombucha drink. Atmosphere 10/10 Love the modern interior, very clean and perfectly temperate. Spacious between tables and lighting was super cool. Service 7/10 Slightly lacking in attentiveness and were acting a bit defensive when I asked if there was any alcohol in my kombucha, but besides that, good service. read more

Incredible! The service is amazing, the food is exceptional and completely outside the norm but in a very balanced and delicious way, the ambiance is inviting. We had a cocktail, wine, 2 appetizers, 2 starters, and 2 entrees, plus dessert - every single thing was incredible! A must do in London! And if you're lucky enough to have Illy host your evening and Vivienne recommend your food all the more lucky you are - both of them are fantastic, definitely made our night! Oh my goodness! I love Scully! We had high expectations knowing the chef's background and because we love NOPI. The flavors were so unique and I loved the blend of Asian flavors bringing something unexpected compared to other restaurants in London. I eat out a lot in London trying many new places and am confident saying Scully is the most exciting new place I have been to in a very long time. I have now eaten there 5 times and taken a number of people all of whom have been similarly impressed. Very very skilfully produced food. Bold flavours but with a refined touch. Went to this restaurant for lunch with a friend. The food was surprisingly delicious and the service superb. I had the vegetarian starter and main. The chef's Asian background probably has had some influence over the menu. I've tried plenty of good places in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, London, New York and LA but this is the best dining experience in memory. Depth, breadth, intensity of flavours. Adventurous, interesting, sophisticated, but not up itself. Arepa with eggplant sambal and bergamot labneh wow! Ultra corn, ultra intense eggplant. Galician octopus tender and yum. Pork belly another league to the usual with anise and uber-aromatic leaves taking it into a whole new dimension. And then dessert - pineapple brûlée and pepper ice cream. It's like my taste buds have woken after a long sleep! Breaks the rules and makes its own. Same goes for ambience - relaxed, quietly confident, unapologetic, and far from the pretentious vibe you sometimes get in real foodie joints. Same goes for music - Bill Withers, Jamiroquai, Lakeside. Friendly chefs and helpful waiters. Just really good and really cool - it's obvious all the guys and gals love what they do. Best place in London, maybe the world. My friend's visit from Australia proved to be the inspiration this new opening by an Australian chef, formerly the head chef at Nopi. It's a beautiful, modern dining room in the heart of St James, not an area where I've really been to for restaurants, but it's been recently redeveloped and just a stone's throw from Soho and Mayfair. We had a cosy table in the corner, where the table next to us could definitely hear every word of our conversation, but at least there was sufficient room to put our bags down and move around without shifting furniture. For 3 people, we were recommended to order 6-7 dishes. We were served complimentary spiced chickpeas to start, and we also ordered the puff tendons that more closely resembled prawn crackers. They were interesting, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the tomato / mayo sauce, so I wouldn't be in a rush to order that again. From the veggie section, we got the arepa with eggplant sambal and bergamot labneh and the char-grilled broccoli with salted egg yolk. The arepa was fun to dip, and the broccoli with salted egg yolk was beautiful and well presented. For fish, we got the octopus ragu, which I wasn't a big fan of. I like octopus, but not really next to the meat ragu that accompanied it. There was too much going on. Finally, we got the crisp pork belly and beef short rib pastrami, both of which were excellent. For dessert, I had the goats cream cheesecake with strawberries, and my friends had the caramelised white chocolate with grapefruit. The goats cheese was unique, but I kept feeling like the dish was salty, though I am told it's just the goat flavour. Overall, we enjoyed inventive dishes, excellent service, and a stunning venue. You may have to be a little adventurous and open minded, but this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

We had the beef tendons, arepa, sea trout, and beef cheeks. Would have all of these again. The tomato pancetta was smoky and together with the oyster mayo was a great combination. The arepa was really well made and the eggplant and labneh filling was creamy and flavourful. The fish had a shrimp sauce which was well balanced and the beef was perfectly crispy and the corriander garnish enhanced it. The chocolate sorbet with pistachio we would also have again, we also decide to order the chocolate arepa just to see what it was about, the sorbet was better and would stick to just that next time. The drinks were also excellent, we had a few different cocktails and all were well made. The staff are friendly and attentive and the restaurant is modern and up market but with a relaxed vibe.
