Somehow the coffee here is better than most. A small & unique place, featuring various coffees, lattes, teas, and a variety of things to eat - my favorite being avocado toast. It's one of those places where you can find a comfortable seat, sit with a friend and relax. My complaint is that because of the small size of the place, I can't find a seat because of all of the people sitting with their computers for long lengths of time. And in the winter the outside seating isn't an option. So lately, I tend to go there less often. read more

Inexperienced barista's and overpriced drinks. The ambience is the same, hasn't changed since the previous owners. The drinks are ok.

Go for coffee not the food/pastries. Cute atmosphere, coffee is pretty good. But food is way overpriced : (10$ avocado toast, $8 bagel) And the pastries are mediocre... We had the chocolate croissant, it was dry and low quality chocolate. Tasted like leftovers from the day before. My sister had the apple turnover, and she was also not impressed, said it was dry/stale. Bathroom was clean, customer service was good. Place is pretty small, so on rainy days, indoor seating is hard to find. Free wifi. read more

On our way home, we passed through Tehachapi and wanted to get something to eat. We came across this quaint sandwich/coffee shop. At first, we were told the kitchen portion was closed and they were only serving drinks, but Michaela kindly served us sandwiches anyway. The sandwiches were also delicious! Thought we'd check out this place because we saw it mentioned on Fb. Cute little coffee shop! Nice selection, if you know exactly what you're getting and wanting. The girl taking our order lacked customer service. Do you have tea? "The flavors are right there" My companion, not one to go into coffee shops, asked what this was and that was. And again, the girl didn't offer any help. Companion states that they're not into fancy coffee or tea. Girl behind the counter doesn't suggest anything. Smoothie, iced tea.. nothing. Will we go back? What a gem hidden in the Tehachapi Pass...their coffees are smooth and potent with no acidity. The perfect balance of coffee to mocha and whip. Their breakfast scramble is delish and looks just like the pictures others posted. We were too hungry to snap a shot. Their chocolate croissant (heated) and their bisconis (sp?) (It is a cross between a biscotti and a scone) out of this world delicious. We plan on making this a must stop when traveling through. It is a local business, and they love their clientele, addressing them by name. The atmosphere was relaxed and kicked back. Service was impeccable. read more

Very tasty coffee and nice staff. However just my opinion--but I loved the original name "The Coffee Mill" much more. My concern is for some of your newer customers, they won't remember the name or remember how to search it because of the odd spelling and uncertainty with how to pronounce. To me, the name "Kamenz Kafe" feels sterile and cold rather than warm, inviting and nostalgic like it's original name -"The Coffee Mill" So, Why mess with greatness! :) I wish your new business all the best and we will continue to visit and enjoy it - regardless of its name! On our way back to the Bay Area from Joshua Tree, my boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick bite. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, both on everything bagels. They were delicious! Eggs were fresh, bacon was nice and crispy, and the ham was tasty. We also loved their Halloween decorations. It was a cute touch and added to the ambience. Boyfriend described the bagels as "the perfect mix of puff and crisp". The reason we are giving this four stars instead of five is because nobody was wearing masks, including the staff and several guests. read more

My absolute favorite coffee place in Tehachapi. A refuge from the madness. The pastries are especially wonderful, the muffins and filled ones are my particular favorites (bear claws!), and this is my go to place, virtually every day. I am so glad to see that, even though in actual quantifiable, measureable data, Tehachapi has had less than 1/10th of 1 percent COVID cases since February, their vigilance about cleanliness is above anything I've seen anywhere else in Tehachapi, and I'm a bit obsessive about such things. I simply don't patronize places that don't meet high, and very reasonable, standards, letting others choose for themselves, as all adults should do. One of the best sandwiches I've have in a long time. Me and my Husband went here for a Saturday brunch and got a pesto BLT with a London fog and he got a turkey ciabatta with an iced coffee. I came in to try the coffee and stayed for lunch. This is a nice quaint coffee shop with a smallish yet well represented food menu. The service was prompt and friendly and the coffee was hot and flavorful. The pesto BLT (add egg) sounded so good that it was worth the cheat and it did not disappoint! read more

Great coffee, super ambience, I always start out my day here with a cup of latte with friends.

My new favorite coffee cafe!!! The coffee is so good and fresh. They make all kinds of coffee,expresso,smoothies.I'm very picky about my coffee, like I can't stand Starbucks coffee it never taste fresh, always taste burnt to me. They have fresh pastry's everyday (my fave is the bear claw). They also have a small great little breakfast menu where you can enjoy your food out back on the patio. Everyone is always super friendly. There's even a rewards app so you can order on it and it will be ready to pick up when you get there!! The Cafe is super cute and cozy, you can sit by the fireplace or at a small table. It is small and can get a little noisy at times but like I said there is seating out on the patio. Employees focused on themselves, B- customer service. And...Covid is still with us and not t a single employee in a mask. I get it if you don't want to mask up outside or in retail stores that don't enforce the rules but YOU ARE PREPARING FOOD & DRINKS! Hello?!? Even if you think Covid is a hoax or masks don't work would it be too much to ask to wear one just out of COMMON COURTESY for your customers?? Just drove an hour to get here was so excited to try the coffee and baked goods while taking a pitstop on a long road trip, but the people behind the counter taking orders, prepping food and drinks, etc. weren't wearing masks and neither were the customers going in. Sadly, we walked out and left. Cases in CA are spiking more than ever, it's NOT the time to needlessly put your customers at risk.
