Here's proof that a boba tea shop can operate in a closet. It's a kinda off-putting set-up because it consists of a self-service kiosk in a semi-hidden doorway and a pick-up window. That's it. There are choices to make when ordering and then you wait on the sidewalk and avoid being mowed down by an indifferent douchebag on a scooter.
The prices are relatively reasonable. I ordered the $6.99 Taro Milk Tea. Going through the kiosk menu selections, i went for light ice, light sweetness, jasmine tea, regular milk, and for an additional fifty cents, mango popping boba (Photo 6). The result was pretty good, though you'd be naive to expect anything that extraordinary from a closet.
DRINK - 3 stars...refreshing enough
AMBIANCE - n/a...not really relevant, is it?
SERVICE - 3.5 stars...efficient enough from a shadowy figure through the window
TOTAL - 3 stars...pretty much what you'd expect
