Every drink I've ordered here has been consistently good. My go to favs are the Black lemon tea and their seasonal Watermelon lemon tea. The watermelon drink is especially refreshing and delicious with a slightly tart flavor profile. Their Mango Sago is also a standout. I recommend swapping the white crystal boba for the regular boba for a better texture experience. Another thing is they use real fruit in their drinks! Ordering is always smooth, and my drinks are consistently ready on time whenever I schedule a pickup. Reliable service and quality drinks keep me coming back. Cheers! read more

The interior is pretty cute and I like the little characters they have everywhere including the menu. Workers were nice but service was a little slower. I went around 4:50 though and they close at 5:30 and had a spike of drinks around then. They had a bogo on every drink when I went. I got the cheese strawberry drink and added lychee drink. I automatically got two drinks because of the bogo. Unfortunately, it did not taste that good? The lychee jelly was giving the most flavor but most of the drink tasted watery for some reason and the cheese foam did not help. I do not taste much strawberry at all. The aftertaste of the cheese foam was also off. Maybe I just needed to up the sweetness but it personally was not for me. They also had a raffle when I went if you spent $10. I visited Special Tea on Kearny St. The drinks were fantastic, bursting with flavor and made just right. They just opened not long ago. The service was friendly and efficient too! I ordered their osmanthus milk tea but I didn't love it as much as other shops. But their boba milk tea is pretty good. I will be back for another delightful treat. What a great spot! read more

I can't help but have to compare it to the old Yokee since it recently replaced it. The base price is about $1.50 more expensive that Yokke - $4.50 vs $6.00. I ordered the Orchid Scented Jasmine Milk Tea and I wasn't too impressed. I had loved the Yokee Jasmine Milk Tea because I can taste the tea and the floral scent of of the jasmine tea but I only taste the sweetness of the Orchid Scented Jasmine Tea /: I might try it again and order something else to see if there's something I would get. Overall, this place is more expensive than the old Yokee and doesn't fit my need for a milk tea that has a strong tea flavor. read more

Special Tea is located on a busy street, but may be a bit easily missed because of the tiny storefront. I believe this used to be Yokee before. Parking is a bit difficult, as it is mainly street parking or you could park in the garage in Chinatown a few blocks down and walk over. I ordered an Orchid Scented Jasmine at 75% sugar and 75% ice with boba and whipped cream. It was a medium sized drink for about $7.50. The milk tea was good with the added whipped cream, very creamy and floral. Definitely not worth the price for the size though. read more

It have replaced the old iTea. I came here after the grand opening days on a weekend. The anterior was pretty cute. It was a labubu theme decorated with the logo of special tea. I got their mango sago drink and the matcha volcano drink. The mango sago was pretty good, juicy, and tasty. You can taste the fresh mango to it. The matcha volcano was pretty sweet, it have remind me of similar to of what i have try before. The service was great I appreciate it. So many labubus in the store. Not much seating. I thought the posters for the sago series was really cute. The tea was okay, mid in my opinion. I got the Orchid Scented Jasmine which had a good foral orchid taste, but the jasmine tea was weak. Additionally the drink was definitely too milky/watered down. My friend got the lychee smoothie which was good but made of lychee syrup, not lychee fruit which is a bit dissapointing for a $7 drink. My other friend go the redbean milk tea which was also just okay, the redbean taste definetely comes through though. The menu is similar to its predecessor Yokee with mochi soy milk tea but I haven't tried it yet. I've only been here twice with my friend for the buy one get one free deal. They are having the deal until 10/31/25. We had to order the same drink to get the deal. The worker told us to order 1 drink through the self serve kiosk, and they will give us 2 drinks instead. Even though the kiosk says to enter your name, they call the order by drink instead of your name when it's ready. The first time, my friend accidentally picked up a different drink than the one we ordered but we just took it since accidentally poke straws into it before we realized our mistakes. I guess we had too much on our minds and didn't listen well. She usually orders Thai milk tea but picked hazelnut this time. I didn't really want the Thai milk tea my friend accidentally picked up, but it was our mistake so we didn't want to make it a big deal even though they offered to take them back when we told them. Since we knew they will throw them away, we accepted them. However, it'll be better if they call out the name since it's printed on the label instead. read more

The average price is more expensive than others around the area. However, the quality is the worst. I odered Sunset Glow milk tea. The base had no tea nor milk favor, which tasted like just ice sugar water. The boba was hard, tasteless and and not chewy. Not worth a try. read more

When Special first opened, their version of it was similiar to Yokee's. Now it's a few weeks and it's just like regular old Mango Sago you'd find anywhere else. Way too watery.
