Love coming to Skateland Mesa…read more My wife and I have now been here for our niece's last two birthdays and one other time just to skate. Birthday parties are handled very well here. Our niece is getting more and more comfortable skating all of the time and has nearly graduated from using a helper. No shame in using it though as she knows she needs some assistance. Nowadays she will skate with it but then push it ahead of herself and skate to it. It is great to see kids to adults of all levels having fun out there on the rink. Slower skaters are encouraged to stay inside the oval in the middle of the floor so the more advanced can go around on the outer skating floor. You are reminded of the rules, but nothing is heavy-handed in any way. Good music and fun little games by the staff throughout the night. So glad they have my size - 15s in a skate. They also have rollerblades, but I am not a fan. Have to have four on the floor and spread out to stay upright. If you are in the area and looking for some fun that you may have not had in 30 or 40 years - go skating at Skateland Mesa. Plenty of theme nights for all and even some adults only skating nights. Highly recommend it for fun and a workout.

This rink had a lot of dips and uneven surfaces. The DJ started out strong, with favorite hits from way back, but as the night progressed, the music and the vibe kind of changed to a slower pace. There is a concession stand as well as a game room. But honestly. this facility is not worth me coming back to. It's probably good for children. But definitely not for a seasoned gal like myself. Friday public skate was quite packed even though they have two rinks going on. One is dimly lit with a DJ (music ranging from pop songs to Jump On It and the Macarena!) while the other has lights on. They Zamboni the ice halfway through, leaving the ice slick for the remaining hour.

The Good: The rink does have a nice snack spot, and a full bar. Super nice lady (Sandy) that I talked to while getting my food in the smaller snack bar. There's a Pure Hockey here that, despite being small, is very well-equipped with helpful and knowledgeable staff. I bought a pair of skates from them and they made sure I got a great fit. The Bad: The ice is in pretty rough shape, especially on the south side rink, it's clear that they don't properly flood or cut it in between sessions. Parents let their kids run around like feral animals, yelling and screaming, climbing on things, and no one seems to care and the employees certainly don't do anything about it. One of the worst parts about the rink is the bathrooms. I can't speak for the ladies, but the men's room is absolutely disgusting. There's always at least one urinal that's "out of service" and the last couple of times I've been (over the past two months) only one of the three sinks has worked. Half the time there's a 1/4 inch of some liquid on the floor, not sure if it's piss or water or what, but it's nasty as hell. Whoever runs this rink is a joke, I've looked into how much you charge for ice time and you clearly aren't investing a single dime into any improvements or even basic maintenance. Get your sh!t together and fix the bathrooms, clean the place once in a while, and invest a little money into making the ice better!

A very nice rink in Gilbert, Arizona. 2 sheets of ice, a great bar (normal bar food, drinks, lots…read moreof TV's, and outside patio (covered with sun sails), a market (coffee, breakfast sandwiches, water and gatorades, etc.) and a Pure Hockey store inside. I didn't interact with any of the staff, but the facility was fairly clean and welcoming. The bathrooms were as to be expected for a hockey rink serving youth hockey (in my case, a HS Varsity team). Parking was ample, with lots to the left, right, and right in front. There are also soccer and baseball games going on around the facility on the weekends, so many parents, kiddos, and cars around. Top tip... avoid parking right in front, as all of the parents were standing in the sunshine one the games ended to defrost (the South Pole rink was FREEZING!!!). The North Pole rink wasn't as cold and also provided a seating are outside of the rink with big windows and picnic tables.

Clearly, some teams rolling 7 or 8 skaters every week and holding down the bottom of the standings need serious help e.g. more players. I wonder if the team reps know that people are trying to join teams but can't because CAHL is not responding to people.

Nice new facility. Well located for the east Valley. While they are still buildong out amenities,…read more it is good ice. The ice surface itself is crisp and hard. The bkards are notably repurposed which definitely goes along with giving them character. At times though the bounces off the boards were not semetrical with the angle they hit the boards at, which is surprising and frustrating if you are playing defense. Likewise, the edging needs to be worked on to remove the bubbles and flatten the surface next to the boards as the ice matures. The final.thing you will notice while skating is the low ceiling which doesn't so much cause any problems other than your perspective in thinking the rink to be smaller than it actually is. The locker rooms are nicely spacious, although lacking good permanent benchs. Showers are missing as yet, but no doubt in the works. Generally speaking, this is a facility just opened but not fully built out. That said, it looks good, skates well and seems like a good start to good little ice rink. I'll be back!

I felt they weren't very clear about not using actual ice and I felt the ad In Groupon was misleading. I threw away the tickets due to no refund through Groupon and because I couldn't give them away. It would have been sad had it not been so funny. The place is small. The place is not a "rink". It's a room with plastic tiles for ice. It wasn't even fairly cold. So yeah sorry one star. Can't call this ice skating in any way
