Been with them (BURGARELLO) for over 6 years and besides 2 false alarm activations (both from wireless connections not the hard line sensors), everything was status quo.
With the turn of the new year, the cell connection which was installed in my alarm back in 2010 no longer works (2G). Meaning if there was an activation or if I wanted to set or disarm my alarm via my phone app, I couldn't.
The company (BURGARELLO) wants to charge me and everyone else in my situation $150 to install a new cell connection allowing the service to again work properly. After asking them to waive the fee since 1) longevity with company and paying for service timely without interruption should speak volumes, BURGARELLO does not understand the term customer loyalty, 2) the company choose back in 2010 to put in a cheaper cell connector rather than a 3G cell connector to save them (BURGARELLO) a buck for a piece of equipment which would become obsolete sooner than the 3G version. 3) The sales man said during his sales pitch that as long as you are a customer with monthly monitoring, ALL equipment would be covered. Seems like #3 was just a sales pitch.
Bottom line is I like to support smaller companies, especially more local ones rather than giants like ADT, BAY alarm. What I have learned since being with BURGARELLO is that customer service and loyalty does not really mean much to them as long as your paying your fee.
What really gets me is that BURGARELLO should not charge anyone for monitoring fees if the sole connection from the alarm panel to their dispatch is via a 2G cell connector which no longer works like mine. Yet BURGARELLO did not stop charging me until I informed them if they did not install a new 3G or higher cell connector for free, I would no longer need their service. They offered to raise my rates $3 a month and asked me to lock into a three (3) year contract. I said no because of points # 1, 2, &3 as mentioned above.
BURGARELLO has now lost $1800 in monitoring fees over the next three years instead of installing a piece of equipment with a retail value of $150. read more
