Found Motorcar Makeovers in passing and am very glad I did. They are professional, thorough, and pleasant. So far I've had two cars detailed, including having the engines steam cleaned. I haven't had much success with this business. I originally had two of my cars in for service at their Lansdale location, because we luv ref close, which opened about a year ago and has since closed. I won't go into all of the details but my cars came back with problems they didn't have when I brought it in. Fast forward 1-1/2 years, we now live close to the Blue Bell location. I took my car in to get detailed and they did a great job. I drove it right hombre and parked it in the garage because it was about to rain. However, later in the evening, my wife told me that one of my taillights was on. I went out to the garage to see what was wrong. I turned the lights on, off, on and off again. Started the car and shut it off, tried three remote start, locked the car, unlocked it... nothing would make the taillight go out. I called MM but they were already closed until Monday morning. I left a detailed message and asked if someone could call me back annoy this. Nobody did. The next morning my car battery was dead. I called them and left another message asking if they can come by Monday morning to give me a jump start so I can get the car over to them yup see what the problem is with the taillight staying on. Nobody called back. In fact nobody ever called me back. There are some personality issues there and I don't feel comfortable ever going back there again. I can't say anything positive about the place except for the fact that they lack customer service skills and are very expensive... that I'm positive about. read more

The team over at Motorcar Makeovers saved my life! I was in town for a wedding on Sunday and as soon as I got off the highway my air conditioner started blowing hot air I looked at my dashboard and the temperature gauge was all the way up. I was about 10 mins away from my destination so I didn't think much would happen to my car in that short amount of time. When I reached a traffic light, the engine turned off and my car started to roll backwards. At this point I know something was definitely wrong and I needed to get it fixed ASAP. On Monday morning I called over to Motorcar and explained what happened and what I thought was the issue. The gentleman on the phone informed me I would have to get the car to him so he could check it out. I brought my car down to the shop around 8:30am when I spoke to Scott Jacobs, the owner of the shop. I explained that I couldn't drop the car off and come back since I was only in town for the day before and I was suppose to be back in NY that day for work. Scott looked at the car told me what was wrong and said he would begin looking for the parts. As most people do, I jumped on my phone to try and get a quote to see how much the repairs were going to cost. The prices I saw were astronomical and caused me to concern. When Scott finally came to me with the estimate it was about 1/3-1/2 on what I was seeing online. Scott gave me some recommendations on getting a tired fixed, but didn't pressure me on the topic and offered to add some air to that tire and I should be fine to drive back to NY, but he urged me to get it looked at soon. I did not feel any pressure to have other things fixed while at this location. Coming from NY where many autobody shops try and take advantage of the customer, I was blown away by the level of customer service at Motorcar. I got my car back by 10:30 am and was on my way back to NY around 10:45 and made it to work on time for 1:00pm. I am completely sad that this shop is two hours away from where I live because I would bring my car to Scotts shop to have serviced all the time. When I moved to southeast Pennsylvania over a decade ago I was driving a then fifteen year old car. Needless to say it needed a little work from time to time and after visiting a few places the first couple of times the car needed some fixing I heard about Motorcar. I gave them a shot and haven't gone elsewhere since. They were the first place I went to that even when I went in for just an oil change didn't always "find" two or three other things that needed fixing each time. And when they did find something else when inspecting the car he would show me what the problem was and explained exactly what needed to be done including what to look after it was fixed to make sure it was working properly. And while nobody is perfect, they seem to take great pride in their work and satisfying their customers. One time I left the shop and a day later while driving heard a sound that I hadn't before. I took it back, they looked at it right away and noticed they made a mistake during repairs the day before. They apologized and fixed it on the spot (for free). A week later I received a personalized letter from the owner apologizing again for the error and checking to make sure that everything was indeed fully fixed this time. read more

Most important thing first. Honesty! you are told in advance what is needed and why. You are also given an estimated time frame of when the work needs to be done. Their estimates are accurate the work is don promptly and the are very friendly nice people to do business with. I recently moved to PA and took my car here for the state inspection...I ended up leaving with a long list of things that needed fixed on my car (some of which they tried to talk me into immediately). I took my car to my own mechanic in Ohio shortly after and he told me that none of the items on the list they gave me were true. As good as it gets, folks. Found this shop on Click and Clack website, and I couldn't have happier with the discovery. Needed an evaluation done of a used car I was purchasing from a private seller. They got me in when I needed, did a thorough eval, and even coached me on how to negotiate with the seller based on their findings. These guys rock. I have had my car(s) serviced here for 5 years. Total of 4 different cars over 5 years. They are always friendly, call you right away to tell you what is wrong, and make suggestions about the best way to fix it, and also less expensive ways to address the same issue if you can't afford the "better" repair. You can drop your car off after hours and it seems to be a family owned and run business with a strong local following. After going to the dealer and getting an estimate, then having the work done here for about half as much, I'm sold. read more
