I dropped off the car and was given a loaner vehicle. Despite being promised an update by the end of the day, no one called. My car stayed overnight, and by 2:00 PM the following day I still had not heard anything. Only after I called was I told the car was ready. This lack of communication from the Audi Rocklin staff was disappointing. I was told the car needs a software update, but that it will not be available until the end of the year. In the meantime, I was assured the vehicle "functions fine", despite these persistent and frankly aggravating malfunction warnings. I was also told that my Q5 does not support remote start through the Audi app because it is a gas vehicle. On top of that, the problem with my iPhone's connection to the car was never resolved. And as I drove away from the service department, my tire pressure warning light came on, even though I had been told the tire pressure would be checked. I immediately called and left a message for my technician explaining the issue and my broader frustration that nothing about my car had actually changed. I never received a call back. I gave two stars because the service department staff were friendly and respectful, and my technician did help me adjust some door settings. Otherwise, the visit was a waste of time. Ultimately, I am dissatisfied with the number of bugs in my Audi's computer system. That may well be the manufacturer's responsibility. But the dealership's communication was poor, and the staff seemed content to blame the manufacturer and treat the situation as simply the way things are for now--with a vague hope that the software update will fix everything, but not until the end of the year. I have owned the car for only a few months, and at this point I doubt I will ever buy or lease an Audi again. I do generally like the vehicle, at least the way it drives. But the functionality I was promised by my salesperson the night I signed the lease has not materialized, and that is deeply frustrating. I am now locked into a three-year lease and will be looking into whether I can cancel it.
