I just wanted to share an experience which should be a cautionary tale to other buyers here. My…read morebrother and I bought a used Silverado truck with less than 100,000 miles on it for a little under $10,000 at the end of August. We thought the Auto Mall's connection as owned by a much larger car dealership in Sacramento would make the purchase a sound one from not only a financial perspective, but from a quality of vehicle perspective....that the assurance to us would be that this car had been checked out from top to bottom by qualified, trained mechanics before sale. Well, this was not to be as the transmission is completely broken down only a month later and now has to be fixed at a cost of over $3,300. A transmission in excellent condition shouldn't have this happen, especially a V8 Silverado. Unfortunately, there is no lemon law that can save us from the exorbitant repair bill. I hope to contact the dealer directly this week, but I would STRONGLY caution anyone considering going to this dealer or its afilliated larger dealership.
