SEXIST CON-ARTIST SELLING DEATH TRAPS. I purchased a vehicle here on Sept.8 2022. I used in-house financing because I am in the process of starting a mortgage and couldn't put the car on my credit. I test drove the car, shared concerns about the brakes and low tread on tires. The sales person assured me he would check the brakes and the tire condition was fine. I clarified that I use the car for Uber and travel all along the western states for my other job and that the tires and brakes were very important. I was assured a second time that the tread was over 50% and that the brakes would be inspected before I picked the car up. Flash forward to two days later and 400miles from home when the brakes are grinding so loud other drives are looking when I stop. I had no choice but to drive home in that condition, very scary and dangerous. I called the owner(not the sales person) and was told the brakes were fine and I was lying or confused. Sexist. I know what bad grinding brakes mean. When I got home I took the car immediately to our trusted tire and brake shop where I was told the car could not pass inspection due to the tires being totally bare and the brakes being so bad that the rotors and pistons had to be replaced as well. When I called to discuss this with the Motor City, I was yelled at and told there would be nothing done, the brakes and tires were fine and the brake shop and I were lying. He told me to drive the car to him so he could see and I told him I would not drive it until it was repaired per the mechanic insistence it not be driven until repaired because it was very unfair to drive. I did tell him he was welcome to go inspect the brakes and tires at the shop and he refused but did call and scream at my mechanic as well. The owner of this business is unprofessional, sexist and possibly a con-artist. No offer of restitution has been made and I will not be using this dealership for the two other vehicles I was buying the fall. I highly recommend NOT using this business for any reason. I look forward to them going out of business soon, that type of service and false advertising won't fly for long around here. read more

Well, my experience with these guys was significantly better than the review below. I saw a few of their cars online that I liked. Went in and test drove them around. Jeff (owner) asked for a copy of license and phone number. I liked one of the cars but wanted to sell my current car first before purchasing. He didn't harass me with calls. After a few weeks I sold mine and went in to finish up the deal. Unfortunately the rig I was after had been reserved with deposit by another party. He did have another which was similar. I test drove it, went over it a few times, and liked it well enough. We talked on price and met at a mutually agreeable point - not a great deal, but not a bad one either. He showed me the auction invoice and paperwork (from Brasher's auction yard); something he didn't have to do. I requested that they fix of couple small items for me and swap wheels/tires with another car on the lot. They did so with no problem. We were trying to finish up and they'd pulled (and drained) the gas tank to fix the fuel gauge sending unit. They didn't have any gas on site so I had to get a gallon on my way back from the bank. A bit of a pain; I'm sure they'd have gotten it themselves if I'd wanted to wait another day or two. It's a small lot and they've only got a couple people working at any one time, so if there are other people shopping you might have to wait a bit or come back later like I did a few times. Also, they take cards, but charge a 3% fee (not unusual). I'd have liked to pay with a debit and gotten frequent-flier miles. Ah well. Regarding Darin's review below, I wonder why you went ahead with putting a deposit on the car after all the issues on the test drive. DO NOT GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT OF ANY KIND UNTIL YOUR MECHANIC HAS CHECKED OUT THE VEHICLE! Friday, Bill showed me a 2006 VW GLI. Nice "looking" car. Bill seems decent enough. Airbag indicator was illuminated on dash. Bill said it was just a sensor. Brakes didn't feel right. BILL SAID JUST RUST ON THE PADS FROM MOISTURE. When I pointed out they just picked up the car as it had yet to be detailed he said, THE RUST HAPPENS FAST. Bill said he'd have them replaced. I would just pay for the pads. Seemed reasonable... if the brakes had reasonable/normal wear. Tires were close to bald and again uneven wear visible to the eye. Some had tread. Some were bald. I told Bill new tires would have to be part of the deal. Bill assured me new tires would be on the vehicle and he would even come in Sunday if I needed him, too, as I told him I needed to leave on a trip Monday. I thanked him said Monday morning would be fine. He said he would be in at 10 and I would be out in 10 minutes. He also said while he could not get the car fully detailed in that time he would personally wash the dirty floor mats which were stored in the trunk of the vehicle. I gave him $500 cash, signed a one-sheet that NO ONE SHOULD SIGN, and left. I got there 10:05 Mon Morn. The old tires were still on the car and I later discovered the dirty floors mats were still in the trunk. In all fairness, the rest of the interior appeared to have literally received the once over. I told Bill I needed to take the car to my mechanic before my family would kick in the 2K for me to seal the deal. He asked where I was taking it? I said CAPPS AUTOMOTIVE. He let me take it. As I walked by the owner, his look of disdain was unmistakable. I got the feeling he knew all too well what happens when people take his cars to their mechanic! His look did not prove my hunch wrong. CAPPS Automotive (GREAT SHOP) got this car up on his lift. The first words out of Brett's mouth were, "This car has been ridden hard and put away wet!" * Abnormal wear on the inside tread of all 4 tires... Glad they had failed to replace the tires! It allowed us to see how messed up the alignment is. * Oil leaking from at least three places from front to back. * Brakes were not only worn, but the passenger rear was abnormally worn and documented, JEFF. * AIRBAG FAULT now flashed on the panel. This was much more than just a little airbag icon. My mechanic informed me this is due to the airbag having been deployed or tampered with... if it even still had an airbag at all. Now only they will know for sure. My mechanic itemized a partial list of problems with this vehicle for me to take back to them. Simple right? Give back the car. Thank them for their time and get back my $500. The owner tells Bill to inform me, SPEND IT OR LOSE IT. The car they want me to spend it on doesn't even get in til Wednesday afternoon. They knew I had to head south immediately. The one-sheet they have you sign does not say "nonrefundable." I told Bill, "We're both good guys. You lost a weekend putting the car up front and I lost a weekend when I should have been out looking for another car. Just give me my refund and let's be done with it." Bill seems to think an airbag is an option. It is not considered an option when it is part of a car and presented as a safety feature which the GLI proudly boasts. It might as well be a malfunctioning seatbelt at that point. The car was either fraudulently or cluelessly presented... since even after my mechanic went down there and explained it to them, I will let you decide which one you think it is. Not giving back my money when I never took delivery of the car and it was shown to have endless problems and safety issues... makes one go Hmmmm. My mechanic told me with the extended warranty I wanted he could make a lot of money because that car will be in the shop all the time. Jeff, give me back MY MONEY. Then I will not have to tell these 1000's of potential buyers, I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO SHOP ELSEWHERE! Mistakes can happen. Follow me, Money back would mean they didn't know the car was so messed up and they wanted to make good. Keeping my money means they knew fully well and refused to give back $500 because their business practices are questionable at best. HOW DOES THIS STORY END, JEFF? WE ALL WANT TO KNOW? We purchased a vehicle from them in early January 2014. Quick and easy transition. They wrote into the bill of sale and contract with us that they are responsible for the replacement of the broken windshield. It is now late April 2014 and they are still unwilling to make a call to Safelite to update their information in the system with them to cover the cost and make a payment to them for the windshield replacement. When they do answer for me and I ask them to call them to arrange for payment they insist I need to return the vehicle to them instead for the day to replace it. There is no way that I am able to leave the vehicle there for a windshield replacement all day and return home, then get back to them to pick the vehicle up. Why if they can fix it at their shop was it not done prior to the sale of the vehicle? I have asked and they dance around giving me a reason. I have asked them why I need to return the vehicle when they can just in two minutes call and pay Safelite. They again, dance around giving me an answer and return to "just bring the truck back here" when for me it's not an option. I feel like at this point we will have to pay out of pocket for the windshield repair ourselves with money we don't have and take them to small claims court for it, or involve a lawyer to remind them of their legally binding contract and that they owe for the cost of the windshield and hope they can cough up the money to pay it to avoid the whole court thing. I HATE feeling like I am being backed into a corner and pushed to the point of feeling like I have to take a legal route to get this fixed. One phone call from you to Safelite months ago and this all would have been fine and you would have had a much better review from me. I do not recommend this business to anyone looking to purchase from them unless your vehicle is 100%. Trying to do any follow up with them once you leave the lot is impossible based on my experience. read more

Looking to buy a pickup. The salesman was nice enough. I liked the pickup after my test drive but we couldn't agree on the price. Thank God. I might have driven out of there that day in a lemon. I came back and took the truck to my mechanic, after the salesman swore up and down it was clean. Even told me "another guy took this to his mechanic and came back with a clean bill of health." I asked him if he had the report and he said no. So I took it anyway. For a $6000 truck I was quoted $3000 in necessary non-cosmetic repairs. I won't be buying here any time soon. The dude tried to sell me a lemon! Pros: Nice guy, willing to accommodate requests. Cons: Can't trust a word he says, I was blatantly lied to. Always have your mechanic look at a car you're buying. Two stars says it all! While looking for a vehicle "Chris" the sales person told me that he would replace a damaged dip stick in a 2005 Grand Caravan. I said okay, fully thinking that he was a man of his word. I test drove the vehicle: I found that the front breaks needed work, a P420 error code needs to be attended to (O2 sensor) and a windshield chip plus small crack. He said he would discount the vehicle due to those items found on the test drive, not the dipstick! We took the discount on the vehicle as I am a very good mechanic and could fix what was wrong with the vehicle minus the windshield. I then called in the following day and inquired about the dip stick. Chris told me that he would have to order it and I would have to pay him for it. Remember, he said he was going to replace it free of charge. I would strongly encourage every one to avoid this "fly by night" car lot. Come to find out, they don't even put vehicles through a safety inspections. Their idea of a safety inspection is to drive the vehicle home once or twice and then put it up for sale. The garage on the side of the sales office is apparently just for looks. When I got the vehicle home I found that easy to replace bulbs where out. I later found some in the glove box. I also found that the passenger side power door had a damaged wire in the track, keeping the door from opening and closing all the way. Chris told me that it would only need some grease for the track. Please learn from my mistake. Not everyone is a mechanic and can fix these things. So I strongly encourage you to go to a reputable car lot, and not one where "60% of its cars on the lot have O2 sensor problems". Those words came straight from Chris's mouth. If you happen to buy a car from them avoid using a debit card or credit card. They charge you 3% to use it. If my last name was Washington, I would change it!!!!!!! read more

The owner, Jeff Washington, is a nice guy, but the functionality of the dealership is chaotic and unprofessional. I have been trying to purchase a car from them, and although I like the car and am getting it at a decent price, it is becoming a huge headache. They rarely answer the phone and when you leave them a voice mail, they don't call you back. Like I said, Jeff is a nice enough guy, but avoid this dealership if you can...it's just one major headache to purchase from them. read more

DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! They sell crappy vehicles that break as soon as you drive them off the lot, or a few days after. They also sell crappy warranties that WILL NOT cover the repairs to the crappy vehicles after they break. Then, when you try and talk to the dealership and the warranty people about the problems with their products, they do not return phone calls, they ignore emails, and then direct you to the fine print on their contracts which says everything is AS IS. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE! FIND A REPUTABLE DEALERSHIP THAT SELLS GOOD VEHICLES, DECENT WARRANTIES, and TREATS THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH RESPECT. I wish I could give them less than one star. read more

Purchased something from ME and we made a verbal for me to buy another set from them, I even removed and delivered minr and WAS supposed to return same day to pick up other set and they chose to wait till they installed the ones they bought from me to call me and say sorry the owner Jeff changed his mind... If you're smart don't go here. For my first car we got a Mazda RX-8 for a great deal! I was so excited to have a little sporty car. Unfortunately this car has been broke down longer than it has been running. Drove off the lot and the check engine comes on. Thankfully all it was, was an O2 sensor, buuuuuut they welded together where the second O2 sensor was supposed to go! Wow when we thought thats the only problem. Were we wrong! Next, was the main fuse went out. Thankfully that was a cheap fix, but was obviously too expensive for this place! They replaced the main fuse with a wire! Could've caught fire and honestly I would've been better off if the car had caught on fire. Wish I would've seen these posts before I had bought this car. If you still pursue a car from this dealer I wish you the best, but from what it looks like these are some real shady people! read more

Had the best price on the internet. Went and test drove it, loved it, bought it. Cars are clean and in good shape. Salesman was awesmoe to work with (Bill) no pressure kind of guy and says it like it is (NO BS)They made it easy. My next car, I'm stopping there first.
