I was only here for one night and I enjoyed its proximity to the oceanfront in Ensenada. I hop in…read morean Uber, and I am downtown in no time at all. The hotel faces the marina full of boats. This place is very popular, people are always coming and going. My room was actually quite large with a nice balcony facing the ocean. I had the fortune of occupying a newly renovated room. My only complaint is the amount of noise that makes its way into the room from the exterior hallway. As soon as you enter on my left by the doorway was the bedroom which had a wall and windows facing the hallway. I guess, I was fortunate because most of my neighbors were quiet and respectful. The hotel can easily solve this problem by utilizing more sound absorbing materials. The hotel's restaurant has an outstanding breakfast buffet which was the most memorable experience of my stay. It's worth staying here just for the delicious breakfast. Would I stay here again? Most definitely, the hotel's proximity and food made all of the difference. There are also trails along the ocean front which I made use of after breakfast.

That killed the appetite pretty quick. We also ordered wine but we did not ask for the price and they ended up pouring a very expensive bottle. It was good but make sure you ask because the bill was pretty high We also booked this place because paddle boarding was offered. When we went to rent the boards they said they were not renting them out. Major bummer, if I would have known I would have brought my own board Over all nice hotel but I'm not sure if I would go back

Great value, great location, and comfortable stay! This hotel is located in the city center next to…read moremany different restaurants and bars. I've stayed at a couple of hotels in this area but I think this one might be one of the best! Check in - Check-in was super easy and hassle free. I booked through booking.com, so my room was paid for when I got there. My room was ready upon arrival and the front desk was friendly and provided helpful check in/out instructions. They then directed me to the parking lot inside where I was able to leave my car overnight. The hotel has a security guard who watches the lot and hotel grounds, which I appreciate. I also liked that the hotel has an elevator, so you don't have to worry about carrying heavy suitcases upstairs if your room is on the second floor. Rooms - First impression of the room was that it was clean and inviting. The room itself is on the smaller size, but not too crowded. The double rooms come with full size beds that are quite comfortable. The room also had a coffee maker, iron, TV, and a small closet to hang up clothes. What I loved the most was the bathroom! Spacious, modern looking, and best of all... GREAT water pressure and temperature regulation. Those who have traveled to Mexico know that good water pressure and a steady warm water flow is hard to come by, even at hotels. This place did not disappoint, and for me, this is probably one of the greatest selling points! Complimentary breakfast - my reservation also included a complimentary breakfast for one or two people. The person at the front desk gave me a card to redeem at their restaurant, which is located across the hotel. You get a choice of four breakfast options ranging from your typical eggs and potatoes, to pancakes and bacon, and Mexican chilaquiles. I honestly didn't expect much given my experiences with complimentary breakfasts at hotels in the US. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the breakfast was! Since I went with my family, I got to try all four options, and they were all pretty good and the portions were filling. I also appreciated that you have an option to take the breakfast to-go, so if you're in a hurry, you can drop by the restaurant, place your order, and pick up your breakfast on your way out. I will definitely be back here and will update my review with some pictures for those of you who are interested!

Tons of great history in this hotel as it has hosted water sports in the past, off-road racing, and beauty pageants. Walking distance from the beach-five minutes, driving distance from the historic town shopping center. This hotel is very well kept, and I believe a highlight of it would have to be the pool area. Decorated with palm trees and well kept giant birds of paradise. There are three functional hot tubs in addition to the very large lap pool surrounded by reclining beach chairs. The inside of the facility appears aged, but not in a degrading way, but rather gives off retro vibes. I did not have the opportunity to eat in their facilities. They did provide you with two standard size water bottles in addition to coffee and cream. My room was very well kept, was clean and definitely gave off resort vibes. The staff here was very friendly and very flexible when it came to park in the car in the registration area. They provide self parking or valet parking for a small additional fee. The parking lot is gated and is monitored 24 seven by security personnel. In this hotel, I felt safe and did not get a sense that I was a rough area. Reason why I did not rate this hotel a five-star has to do with the water coming from the shower. It is a known fact that while in Mexico, it's not recommended to consume water coming out of any home faucets or showers. Upon showering, I noticed the water having a mineral/sulfuric scent. It wasn't overpowering nor overbearing, but to those sensitive to smells, this could've resulted in a poor experience. At this time, I am not sure if it has to do with San Nicolas being an older hotel or if this is a common occurrence with hotels throughout Mexico. I would recommend staying here however (TIP) I would also suggest researching the water issue with nearby hotels if you are particular about water smells.
