We visited Moss Beach Distillery on a Sunday around 5PM, and got seated right away with no reservation. It got super busy later though and there was a line out the door when we were leaving! I loved the bootlegger/speakeasy history of the restaurant, which was outlined on a plaque outside. The interior also had an old-timey vibe, with beautiful tiffany-style lamps hanging over the bar. We sat on the dog-friendly patio, which has a nice view of the ocean. The only thing I didn't like about it was how uncomfortable the bench seating was. The patio was sloped and the coffee table was so low, so we literally had to hunch over in order to eat. I had some back pain by the end of the meal! We skipped drinks and ordered food right away. My partner and I chose the Crispy Buttermilk Calamari and Linguine di Mare to share. Both of these were solid! The Calamari was nicely prepared with larger pieces of squid. The Linguine di Mare was more substantial and I liked the white wine sauce. I'd be curious to try the famous Clam Chowder or Seafood Quesadilla next time! Service was friendly but not the quickest. Overall, would return to Moss Beach Distillery for the ambiance and views!

Absolutely gorgeous place! It's tucked away in the neighborhood and has amazing views. We sat on the patio with so many other dog!. We sat by the fireplace at sunset and it did not disappoint. The food selection was also delicious, and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back

We visited after an afternoon at Maverick's Beach. Located just a short drive away, it was the perfect place to continue enjoying scenic coastal views while warming up from a blustery adventure (with or without the help of some alcoholic beverages). Multiple dining rooms offer large windows with ocean views. The cioppino was fire. The seafood portions were generous and well-cooked, and the broth was delicious with the garlic bread. Definitely did its job of making me feel toasty from the inside out. We also enjoyed the slider trio and the garlic fries we subbed for were nicely crispy and loaded with garlic. The calamari appetizer was pretty standard and did not stand out. I would definitely go back after another day at the beach. It looked like they also have a patio area, which wasn't open when we visited, but looks like a nice place to dine al fresco in warmer weather.

This restaurant is located right next to the ocean which must have beautiful sunsets. We unfortunately arrived after sunset and it was just pitch black. It would have been nice if there was lighting along the cliff side or by the beach. Food was pretty good. Husband got the steak and mushroom Alfredo pasta which was good when I took a few bites. I got the slider trio with garlic fries. Omg the garlic fries were not good. They were good fried with a bunch of raw garlic dumped on top. When I took it home and put it in air fryer it was perfect .

Steak with onion rings

I really enjoyed the food and the setting. Their steak, served with potatoes and onion rings, was really great. Also, location: combine dinner with a visit to the nearby park, where you can find the Cypress Tunnel and watch the seals.

My wife Marti with what's left of her seafood "Coast Slidee".

My wife and I have been going to the Moss Beach Distillery for over 15 years. Yesterday, it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. So we decided to celebrate at the Moss Beach Distillery. We enjoyed some excellently prepared dishes along with my new favorite the "Smoked Salmon Carpaccio" that was outstanding! The other dishes were great and just one reason we enjoy dinning here. The other reason we love to dine here is the staff. Everyone goes out of their was to make the guests comfortable and happy. This time "Tam", our waiter, excelled with his charm and relaxing way that had both my wife and I enjoying each interface. Again, all of the other members of the team, treated us so nice that we felt wonderful. We will always return for the food, service, and the view!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! It was a first time for myself but the people I came with have been here multiple times. The location and view is absolutely gorgeous. The service is fantastic despite having large crowds and everything we ordered was delicious. This is a great place to take friends/family when they're visiting.

Onion rings the best in the West!!!!!

What a wonderful place to have delicious food and drink, First off the service was wonderful and spot on. Our server was Tam or Tan, my hearing is terrible so please forgive me for not being sure of his name. Very attentive server and very helpful in navigating the menu. He made sure our lunches were served hot and the drinks served cold. Real good guy! One buddy had the coast sliders, for lunch, one seared tuna, one seared salmon and bacon and one crab cake slider served with delicious fries. He loved his lunch! Another buddy who is, shall we say a bit selective on his food choices (euphemism for picky) was gonna have the fish and chips. I told him to expand his horizons and try the panko petrale sole. Plus I told him if it wasn't good he could order something else. He tried it and loved it! He's a big fan of panko petrale sole now! Another buddy had the seafood combo. Fried calamari, fried fish and shrimp, served with yummy fries. He liked the fish and chips and shrimp. He considers himself a connoisseur of fried fish, shrimp and chips and though it was,one of the best he has had. He doesn't like calamari so the rest of us ate it for him. The calamari was delicious! Tender juicy squid in a lovely batter! We thought it was yummy! For my lunch I had the beet salad and it was yummy. Lots of beets, with spring mix greens and candied walnuts, mandarin oranges and blue cheese. Super yummy!!, Some of us had the clam chowder and it's super yummy, one guy had the French onion soup and said it was delicious! Onion rings are to die for! You gotta try them! Sweet red onion slices covered in a heavenly Devine batter! So unbelievably delicious! I'll be back for these soon! The desserts were wonderful. The cheese cake and the chocolate brownie with ice cream! Very delicious! Please look at the pictures below and let your eyes do the feasting! , ,

We stopped here to grab a beer and check it out. Phenomenal views here and its historic destination is a very cool story! Love how this was a real speakeasy during prohibition here on the California coast. First class views if you dine here, employees were great here as well. It is a tourist spot, so consider that but if you like history, views, an an old secluded setting then this should be on your list!

I would give 5 on 5 for the location and views of this place, along with the amazing service that was provided to us today! I would give 3 on 5 for the food. It was good but I won't get cravings for it :) I would love to come back on a weekday and enjoy the live music and sunset. So much history on this place - loved the vibe of this place!

Calamari and clam chowder
Amanda H.

This place still makes the best clam chowder imo. Sweet fresh clammy taste. Doesn't have the potatoey starchy or floury taste that some clam chowders tend to have. Not watered down of overly buttery milky. Just right. Of course the bread is good too. The calamari is nicely fried. Light and crisp. Can't complain about a wonderful midday snack with a direct view of the ocean.

Lovely sunset...

This hidden gem has such beautiful views of the ocean. Great place to stop on a beautiful day. The food and drink isn't bad either. Looking for a great burger some fried pickles or garlic fries? Yum, best ever! Nice place to stop in, grab a cocktail or appetizer and just chill looking out on the gorgeous view were so blessed to have here in San Mateo county. Cool little spot. Good food with great service. What more can you ask for?

I chose this location right away for the location (walking distance to the Marine Reserve for pictures), the price (within the range for comparable venues), the fact you can get married and have the reception in the same place, and because I was able to bring in all my own vendors. Sharon, the owner and the woman who is essentially the day-of coordinator, was an absolute joy to work with. She was always honest and straight forward with me and walked me through many of the preparations leading up to the wedding. We had to do some very last minute contingency planning for rain, but Sharon was there helping the entire way through. Even though we got a rainy day and didn't get to enjoy the full beauty of the venue, Sharon saved the day many times over for us and made using Cypress Meadows worth every penny. I will never forget standing with my father, ready to walk down the aisle, and waiting for Sharon to let us know when we were supposed to go, because after all, we'd never done the wedding thing before. Cypress Meadows gets my absolute highest recommendation. Brides will not be sorry using this venue and it would also be great for corporate events and more!

Sharon, was amazingly kind and wonderful in letting us take over the place and just decorate it with candy themed stuff. It was the perfect place for my party and I couldn't have imagined anything better. We had a themed brunch, taped the candy dots on the wall to make "lickable wallpaper", Sharon loaned us a tv and we had the movies playing in the background as the "Wonkavision" corner. It was just a blast! Afterward we were able to play cornhole, lawn bowling, wiffle balls in the back. It was the best birthday I could have ever imagined and I don't think it would have been as special if it was anywhere else!

They offered complementary wine in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Their breakfast was provided by nearby bakeries which was really nice to support/highlight local businesses! The hotel was clean, quiet, and staff were all very friendly. Even the interactions that we witnessed were all very helpful and pleasant. This hotel is walking distance to a few restaurants by utilizing the walking path along the water. The only negative about our stay was the temperature in the room. It was very warm (even in March) and since there is no air conditioning we were forced to keep the back door open and bugs were coming in from the crack of the screen door. The Hiddenbrooke Hills team went above and beyond on my wedding day!…read more Leading up to the wedding, I was honestly pretty anxious since I had been coordinating with multiple vendors and only had about four meetings with the Wedgewood Hiddenbrooke Hills team about the big day. But to my surprise, both the rehearsal and wedding day were completely stress-free! Christina, Taylor, and the entire team truly took care of me and my loved ones from start to finish. And can I just say -- my guests had so much fun! From the overflowing drinks at the bar, the gorgeous and spacious venue, to the amazing food during cocktail hour and dinner -- everything was absolutely perfect. I honestly couldn't have imagined a better day. Thank you so much, Hiddenbrooke Hills team!

Elite Package Ok…read moreit's a long one but if you're going to invest money anywhere I think it could be helpful to make an informed decision. So overall I think the concept and idea of all inclusive planning is cool and can help ease some wedding planning stresses but throughout, I've explained it (when people ask) as a bunch of companies that have decided to partner to work cohesively but mostly to maintain working relationship. You will need to reach out to each vendor and make appointment with them and meet whether face to face or over zooms but aside from wedgewood.. Same as you would if it were not all inclusive. Again what it does however, is gives you dedicated partners that are working closely on a constant basis... we decided to go with wedgewood because we have 1 year old twins and figured it would be a great fit for our situation. The staff are really friendly and extremely nice. You have a good amount of meetings with Wedgewood(maybe 3 plus a binder pick up so 4), in my opinion not too many, but I'm also local. You go through the run down, multiple times of what to expect, what the steps to come are, and how you'd like your day to look. Planning and coordination The day of, leading up to the ceremony, the day was seamless. Maybe an hour or 30 minutes before the ceremony the officiant meets with us in separate rooms (in my opinion too late in the process to iron over last minute details) I expressed a detail I'd liked altered and he gives me push back, to the point where I have to remind him this is my wedding. Floral Florals were nice, however I asked for only greenery on the tables and there were blooms. Also there were supposed to be guttered petals lining the ceremony isle instead there were 4 bags of petals unopened piled at the start of the isle. When I reached out to wedgewood they expressed the florist did not give them any instruction--but again as stated you have multiple meetings over the course of time and it states plainly in the paperwork that is an element of the ceremony Ceremony As the bride I can only speak to when I entered. But there was some issue with walkie talkies that ultimately delayed my entry. The song I was to enter to (I wanted no more than the first 54 seconds to play) was pretty much done after I was driven about 25mph on the back of a golf cart to the ceremony... hunny the hair is getting thrown all over from the wind, I'm holding on in hopes that I'm not thrown, to show up and my song is almost over. At this point ok we're gonna roll with the punches Officially yours I think the officiant thinks we've all come to see him. I kinda had strange vibes in our meeting but I like to trust that people are able to perform in their expertise maybe better than they can explain. We did ask for prayer in our initial and only meeting but a lot more interpretation was given rather than word. Danville bakery I absolutely loved this bakery, the owner was lovely very accommodating and listened to the things that were important to me. We picked up a tasting box and faxed back our request. Again I'm local so no big deal for me iMobile dj The dj was very good he was familiar with our music genre preferences and sound system was good throughout ceremony and reception. We met via zoom he made sure he understood our preferences and what we expected the day to look like, even provided recommendations Buffet capt I didn't have much a a close interaction with the catering staff. I appreciate them making sure all our small guests were served promptly. Even at the end of the night Vicki made sure the groom and I had food to take with us in case we didn't get a chance to enjoy our food due to the days flow. However the next day a lot of guest said they didn't get cake, and these were guest that don't communicate with each other and also no cake was sent back with us. Per the next day response of our coordinator stated each seat had a slice and there wasn't any left... mmm I dunno Our dedicated coordinator left at the beginning of our reception. Kinda strange but aside from cake issues our reception was fire (we had a really good dj) Overall experience I don't plan to have another wedding but if I could do it again I wouldn't necessarily make this route my first option. Again they are really nice but the actual flow of the ceremony needs more dedication. If there is a rehearsal and multiple meetings where we discuss how the day should look, I expect my day to reflect that. Yea things happen but we (if lucky) only get married once, these businesses function daily and could be a lot more fluid. Maybe don't depend on walkie talkies, maybe keep a copy of the plans on hand and make sure detail are covered. At the end of the night we tipped coordinators, dj, buffet capt, and bar tender. Side note: To be fair I reached out the next day expressed my gratitude and asked for possible resolve. I was replied to the next day (folks get busy) and no accountability was taken.
