Update: paid for 8 services in 2025 (up front of course) and recieved 4. Everytime I emailed I got the run around they were "checking the vehicle GPS to confirm" which is laughable in itself, but then no response afterwards. It was charged on my CC but you can't dispute a charge months later when the service agreement isn't met- so buyer beware! I'm guessing this is now a failing buisness they're collecting money from anyone to pad their pockets without providing any service. Way too much opportunity to run a scam business. Our community is switching companies in 2026 as this company was a hot topic at our last HOA meeting and several homes felt the same. read more

Purchased 8 Mosquito treatments for $450, received 4. I had to email them every time and ask when they were coming, and I was magically on the schedule the next day! Imagine that. Our neighborhood in Severna Park has been using them for a few years, but I'm guessing they're on their way out of business because it went downhill quick. Save your money and switch to a reputable Mosquito Company for 2026, our community certainly will. read more

We have used Mosquito Busters for 2 summers now, and it makes such a great difference. Our yard was unbearable during warm months. We have the Tiger/Zebra (whatever you call them) type of mosquitos, and my husband is much more prone to bites than me, but this species still goes after me a lot too. I tried DIY methods without luck and it also took up a lot of my time. Thanks to this small business, we can enjoy our deck and yard a lot more. We work on cars a lot too, so it helps to stay comfortable when out in the driveway or open garage. Sometimes, for whatever reason, the spray isn't as effective, and you just text Joy to let her know you need a respray. It's usually easy to tell in my yard because the mosquito population is so strong without treatment or with a weak treatment. My only wish for improvement is better communication. I never know when I am on their schedule next. And besides not getting bit, I never know for sure when they do a treatment because there were many times this season we did not get a door hanger. It was suggested some might get blown away, another resident took the door hanger in, or the technician forgot. I'm 99% sure the 3rd option is what's been happening as the first 2 options are very unlikely for my particular situation. Again, I typically can go on my experience of not getting bit to know if there has been a recent treatment, but more communication is still on my wishlist. I felt this past season it was tough to know for sure that I got every spray that I paid for between not getting all door hangers and needing a couple of resprays. When I brought this up to Mosquito Busters, they came out for their last treatment of the season and left extra door hangers, and they all had the same date...which was in July and didn't match what Joy told me my services dates were. Finally, there was one day I did happen to be home and saw the technician arrive. I heard him spraying around the house, but he never went out deep into our side yard. Technically, this treatment is supposed to be for up to 1/2acre and our lot is that size but only the immediate house area got treated at least that day--and I imagine that's what happened every time. But I overlooked it since we don't tend to hang out in that area of the property. Between what I described and hearing "horror" stories of people paying for services that were never done (I know someone who caught on security camera a different company mosquito guy just stay in his truck for 10 minutes and leave but charge for a service), it does concern me a bit. Otherwise, the mosquito situation is much improved and for that, I'm thankful! read more

I usually get some company to come out in the spring and spray for mosquitos, flees and ticks. In the past a week or two after the treatment my wife gets bit by mosquitos. This time I used Mosquito Busters Groupon. Welllll, let me tell you, I have never been able to go this long in my backyard and not get bit by mosquitos. DC is built on land that could be characterized as "swampy". As a result, Mosqiutos go wild when the dead of summer hits. My yard gets ridiculous from mid June through September. I use Mosquito Busters during these times. There are literally no mosquitoes for about 35 days after each treatment. A great vacation. Just be mindful if you have a garden because it will keep pretty much all insects at bay. Including the bees. read more

We began using Mosquito Busters in June of 2017. We bought a Groupon to try out for our daughter's birthday party. It worked great! We began buying season packages each year for 10 sprayings. If you buy the package deal at the beginning of the year, you get 20% off the total. That equals 2 free sprayings! Fast forward to 2021. We, as usual, prepaid for our season of sprayings. We paid $632 on February 26, 2021. On May 9, 2021, we still had not received any sprayings. I contacted Shawn and Joy by eamil to ask when we were scheduled for our first treatment. Joy responded that we were on the schedule for the following day. May 10, Shawn and Joy came out for our first spraying. June 15, over a month later, we received an email that Shawn would be by in the morning for our treatment. June 16, 2021, we received our 2nd treatment for the year. July 9, 2021 I received a text that Shawn would be out for our 3rd treatment either Saturday, July 11 on Monday, July 13. Shawn never showed. July 23, I sent an email asking when we would be getting our next treatment because our kids were getting destroyed by mosquitos. I said in my email that we never received a door hanger from the weekend of July 10th and the security camera does not show that Shawn came to the house. Joy said, "I was with Shawn when we sprayed but not sure the exact day as they all run together." Unfortunately, the security camera proves that this spraying never happened. July 29, 2021, Shawn and Joy came for our 3rd (and turns out to be our final) spraying of the season. On September 18, 2021, I sent an email asking Shawn and Joy to send me a check for the remaining balance since they still owe me 7 sprayings. I paid $632 for 10 sprays. That amounts to $63.20 per spraying x 7 missed sprays = $442.40. No response. On October 4, 2021, I sent another email explaining that I have not heard back from them and my next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau and to write an honest review. No response. At this point, I am hoping Shawn and Joy will do what is right and return my money. Shawn expects to be paid for providing a service, just as I expect to be provided a service when I pay for it. October 12, I received this email: I have forwarded your request for refund to accounting. They will first need to check all dates of service and then issue a refund for any treatments not completed. This process can take 7-14 business days. It is now November 14, and I have yet to receive back my money. read more

We had a great first experience. We planned on putting up a play set for our three year old but had no idea mosquitoes and ticks were a such a thing (adventures of new home ownership). We got in contact with Shawn and his wife via a family member. We had a turn around of less than 48 hours. Venmo for payment and noticed the difference immediately. With a few days notice Shawn from Mosquito Busters came out and treated our front back yard before a party. We've always used the candles and Home Depot bug sprays but they always seemed ineffective. One treatment from Mosquito Busters lasts almost a month! Great people and great service. Highly recommended. read more

Came out day after I called. Lady who scheduled appointment was knowledgeable & super friendly. Thoroughly treated yard. It rained a couple hours later & they offered to retreat if needed. No mosquitoes at all for about 3 weeks. Amazing! Highly recommend!!! read more
