This place is wonderful! The selection is incredible - I was really blown away by how much they had, so much more than anywhere else I've looked. They had the tiles I'd fallen in love with online and seeing a large sample of it helped me decide I liked something else better. Brecklen was great at seeing what I liked and suggesting other similar options. It takes a few weeks for an order to come in, but they pointed us to the choices that come in 1-2 weeks for nice our kitchen renovation is nearly done. And when we bought the backsplash they helped us choose grout and a sealer specific for glass mosaic. It was well worth the drive. I was sent here by my cabinet designer, and I'll definitely recommend this to friends. read more

First the good: this place sells beautiful and unusual tile. If you want to do up a kitchen or master bathroom right, or re-decorate a fireplace, they will have amazing things for you. Now the bad: they are very, very expensive. This is partly due to the premium nature of their product though I suspect the markup is pretty hefty. Also, service is rather snooty though they are much nicer if you actually make a purchase. I do think they purposely disregard people whom they don't think look "rich" enough. I splurged on tiles from them when I redecorated my kitchen and it does look gorgeous. read more

ZERO STARS! Absolute crap! Items in stock were fine... but the items we special ordered were late. They blamed the supplier. It's YOUR supplier! Then the tiles show up and are different sizes - so useless. Lisa's "take it or leave it" attitude to customer service has just lost a customer and I'm sure more will experience this and follow suit. I saw this place while searching online for Chicago Tile shops. I liked what I saw on their website and came in here today with my husband and our two daughters under 5. We have been filling our weekends shopping for our finishes for our new custom modern home build. Instagram: jadenessmodern Service could be better. It was confusing as they said the weekends are appointment only and that the prices also need an apppintment. I felt like I was written off as not being able to afford the tiles sold here because of my age early 30 and having a family with young kids=starter & can't afford $100/sf of tile. I am sorry to say we left with a undeserved experience. This business could have outfitted our tiles for entry way, 2 mudrooms, 22x16 kitchen, 4 bathrooms, laundry room, and fireplace surround. read more

I agree that the tile at this shop is lovely, but expensive. They apparently sell a lot of the glass tile that is so popular today. Me, I love the Mexican tile -- both the handpainted tiles and the saltillo. The owner of Hispanic Designe (Cicero near Peterson) sold his stock and business to this company. I thought he was expensive. After visiting this shop and checking their prices, boy, was he reasonable! For example, the hand-painted, glazed 4x4 Mexican tiles I purchased from Joe of Hispanic Design about 2-3 years ago were $1 apiece. At Mosaicos, they are between $7-$8 apiece. For those of you who love Mexican tile, I'd recommend the Ebay shop called Majolica something. Just type in the word "Talavera" to find it. I purchased 6x6 handpainted tile from them and they were very nice. read more

We've spent a lot of time remodeling our condo, and we were searching for high-end tile without the high-end price (always a tall order). After many unsuccessful trips to the outlets, I reluctantly visited Mosaicos. My expectations were limited selection and high prices. WRONG! Despite the size of the store, Mosaicos offers a huge variety of tile, ranging from some of the most unusual and beautiful tiles I've ever seen (with, I assume, prices to match) to a huge variety of reasonably-priced, beautiful tile selections. We started by browsing and isolating some of the tiles we liked, and then the staff helped us find similar types of tiles in our price range. We went in looking for either natural stone or higher-end porcelain along with glass accents. The service was excellent, they had a lot of great ideas and didn't make me feel cheap despite my small budget (others have mentioned snooty service - I expected that, but they weren't at all - very helpful and understood my budget). We ended up with two styles of 12x24 porcelain and two sheets of air strip tile as an accent. Our bathroom looks amazing and it didn't break the bank. Note: make sure you ask about shipping costs - they tell you it's extra, but tile is heavy, and it adds up quickly. read more

I was hesitant to go into this store because I expected it to be overpriced and maybe even pushy. It has beautiful, unusual tile much like the Mart and not as as expensive. I had already purchased my wall tile and trim from another store before learning of this place. I brought samples to match for our steam shower floor and surround. The staff was helpful, helped me choose something unexpected to tie into an asian vibe, and the price was right. It arrived in a week.Lovely! Well, it all started so well. The store has a lovely supply of all kinds of tiles. The staff is friendly. In fact, I spent half my life there before ordering several thousand dollars worth of tile for two bathrooms. I ordered the tile in "plenty of time" to have it all here when work began. Surprise! The special ordered stuff was late; the bullnose tile took forever. Still, I was happy with my choices and ready to go with drawings in hand whipped up by the "consultant." And then the problems began. The drawings were way off forcing us to make decisions on the fly. Some of the tile was the wrong size. Besides, they didn't send enough. When I called to complain, I was told by the co-owner that it wasn't his doing and that I'd have to pay in full for the redone tiles plus shipping! (In truth, I ultimately got some additional tile for free. I'm still not sure whether that made up for the over $250 I had to pay extra.) After one too many mistakes, I left a message for the other co-owner with whom I'd had some good conversations. She called back with a condescending attitude that immediately fueled my frustration. My contractor ultimately talked to her and hung up after being insulted and told that whoever was doing the tiling didn't know what he was doing and that I, the client, should "run as fast as I could." My best advice: Go to a different tile store and have a real consultant come to your home to do the measurements and to be on tap, if and when there are problems. read more

Cab. & counter same selections. Visited 4 times. Each time I was greeted with, I'm not sure I can help because I'm new here. Never recieved a quote from my first request. Went back anyway to try again on a different order. New color, glaze, size, easy right? Wrong. Couldnt check out my selections. Made an appt upon their request because she wanted me to learn the differences between my selections. O.k. that at least comes from someone knowledgeable and is a sincere attempt at good customer service...went to my "appt" only to find out she isn't there. What a waste of time. After leaving some big box tile stores in tears, wondering if I would find ANYTHING that didn't feel sterile and ultra modern, I stumbled upon Mosaicos and had the BEST experience today. Ania was attentive, friendly and went out of her way to not only help me pick tile for my bathroom and floor, but sat with me and helped me pick a paint color that would make my entire vision come together. I found the most beautiful tile, exactly what I had in mind- something different, painted style floor tiles for a reasonable price. In the early stages of my research for our bath and kitchen renovation, three out of five people mentioned Mosaicos. I paid a visit but continued my searching and wandered through a dozen more tile stores and returned to Mosaicos for several reasons: 1) the selection is second to none , 2) the prices are fair and 3) the staff was friendly and helpful. I do not like sales people that hover while I review selection - everyone at this store let me have my space but were at the ready to help when I needed it. I wish I had a dozen houses so I could incorporate all the styles Mosaicos has to offer. read more

I had a very bad experience with Mosaicos Tile. The owner came to my house to measure my bathroom. Based on his measurements and experience I placed my tile order. After the tile was installed, I had an excess amount of tile left over. I inquired about a refund and asked why I ended up with so much extra tile? The owner responded by saying his measurements were only an estimate and my contractor must have changed the way they (Mosaicos Tile) anticipated the project to be done. This would not have been possible unless I had built another wall and extended the floor. Mosaicos also stated that the installer used wood trim around the window instead of bullnose tiles. I clearly told the owner that the window casing would remain. I was given a 3-day deadline to return the 2 unopened boxes of tile and the 24-bullnose tiles. The accent pieces were not refundable. I was also told that if I did not comply with Mosaicos 3 day deadline, they would not refund me for any of the tile. I returned the portion of the tile, paid a 25% restocking and additional shipping fees. When my husband and I returned a portion of the tile to receive a refund, the owner, told my husband several times to keep the box of floor tile because he was going to throw the box away. I emailed Mosaicos to ask if the floor tile was not being sent back to the company as the owner's wife stated, instead it was going to be thrown out, why was I charged a shipping and restocking fee? This question was never answered. Most people understand that renovation doesn't always go smoothly, or on time; therefore, their return policy is not realistic for renovation projects. Mosaics shipping fees are misleading and ambiguous. After I made the final payment, I was billed a shipping fee for $331.20. When I questioned the owner about the shipping fee, I was told they try to bundle the orders to keep the fees down. The owner went on to tell me the reason for the high shipping fee was due to the few orders placed at the time of my order. During the 6- 1/2 weeks I waited for the order Mosaicos did not give me a range of the low to high for shipping. Be well informed about their shipping policy. After spending a lot of money buying tile from Mosaicos and absorbing additional fees, I would not recommend Mosaicos Tile, due to their misleading and unclear business policies. read more

As others have stated, they do have a very impressive collection of tile to choose from. However, their service is horrible. When I ordered my tile I was told it would arrive within 2 weeks. After calling day after day to check on the order, I finally could pick up the tile 4 weeks later - twice as long as I was told! The only reason I was given was that the owner was on vacation and some of the tiles were chipped and had to be sent back. I'm glad they took care of the issues, but a phone call to update me would have been helpful. While picking up the tile I noticed the border tiles were not glazed the way I had ordered them. They were sent back and I was told I'd have them in 3-4 days. It's been over a week and I'm still waiting for them, once again calling each day to check and being told they'd be in the next day. I wouldn't recommend Mosaicos to anyone. True, they have everything you could imagine under 1 roof, but a few more trips to the many other tile stores in the area will give just as many options. read more

After looking at the reviews I was very hesitant to go to Mosaicos. My wife forced me since it was a referral from a friend. WOW!!! Nothing I expected. We are regular people going into this store which was located on Pulaski, A main street in the city of Chicago. Plenty of street parking. When we walked into the showroom which was two floors and completely packed of only beautiful tiles. Of course my wife fell in love with glass tiles we could not afford, but the sales girl which was very knowledgeable made it work. We walked out using the glass tile as a accent and some affordable 12" x 24" Porcelain tiles. I really appreciate all the help that Mosaicos gave us. The store has an excellent and unmatched selection displayed, and Lisa guided me in the right direction based on my taste and budget. Very expensive...twice the price of others for the same tile. Brought in a price quote from some place else and they would not match the price. My mistake was placing the order before I shopped around and they would not give me my deposit back even though the tile had not arrived in the store. Not even a store credit for future purchase! READ THE SMALL PRINT! Don't shop here unless you have unlimited funds to spend. The service was not as professional as I had thought it would be. They say they are designers, but I came up with more ideas than they did. Not much help for the prices they charge. I would not recommend this shop to anyone...you can find the same tile elsewhere for half the price that they sell it for and get better service. read more

Wow! we have looked everywhere for tile, from outlets to the Merchandise Mart. I will agree with most of the reviewers that the selection is very nice for such a small location but the service is AWFUL!! I am in the sales industry and rule number one is do not make assumptions about how much money your customer has. not only did they make the assumption, they suggested face to face that we could not afford the tile we selected after I had told them we had been shopping everywhere looking for something unique to go into our custom designed new construction home. my husband is an architect and they proceeded to tell us that they could lay out our powder room better than he could with their CAD system. if you shop there, I would get dolled up and pretend like you are wealthy and maybe they will be nice. they called our GC and asked him if they should give us the trade price or give us the retail and charge him the trade price so he could make money off of it, WHAT??? read more
