I ordered the chicken and waffles and when my food came out the waffles were burnt very badly and proceeded to try and eat them without saying anything. However, an observing server (Reyna) saw the burnt waffles and quickly came over and addressed the issue and delivered perfectly cooked waffles without me even asking. I have frequent Mosaic quite a bit. Such a great atmosphere and I love their outdoor seating and bar area. My husband and I love cocktails. There have been a few times our drinks have been sub-par but Tim (a bar tender) hands down knows his shit. His drinks are on point every time. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great appetizers (meatballs) and their pizza is awesome! If your into drinks make sure you ask for Tim. read more

Brunch was a bummer. Service was very slow and inattentive on the patio. Food was about diner quality level and half our table's order seemed to have been sitting waiting for the rest to be done for some time. We really wanted to like this new restaurant, as there aren't too many options in Redding. The first time we went, the hostess seemed to be confused on how/where to seat us (group of 4), so we waited a bit too long after making prior reservations. No biggie. The consensus at the table was that the food each of us ordered was just "okay". We sat outside and the table next to us had brought their dog. That didn't bother me, but if you are allergic, I believe they do allow this at the front, outdoor seating area. We just went again with a party of 5 (4 adults and a child). The seating went smoothly, but that was all that did. A drink that was ordered was forgotten and had to be asked for, food took super long to arrive, they do not provide bread or anything while you wait, so don't go in starving, they burned the pizza that was ordered so all of our food came and our friend had to wait for hers, regular necessities (salt, pepper, steak knife) were not provided and had to be asked for, etc. I actually felt bad at one point asking for salt because it seemed every time our server came to the table, we had something new to request that is usually at any other table in the world. The check was dropped off so soon that when my husband ordered a black coffee with our dessert, the waitress took back the check to add the black coffee to it. Just silly. It probably cost more time to rerun the check than the black, plain coffee cost! Not looking for anything for free, but geezz. I don't expect too much from any restaurant these days, but this place is not cheap. The reason I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because we were seated at a very nice table and the gentleman, that I assume is the manager, was very kind. We will more than likely not return. Visited Mosaic last night, was looking forward to it. Hostess seated us right away at open seating area. Room is very nice. Waitress was pleasant. We ordered Orzo & Caesar salad, the salad was not crispy & the dressing was not as good, as any store bought. I would expect an amazing salad to go with the price. The Orzo, well I have never tasted an Italian dish like that. I'm not sure what it was, chicken was a bit over cooked, but over the top tomatoe & a very odd flavor. Came here for NYE dinner since we stayed at the Sheraton... would have given this place a better rating but there were a few issues. Our waiter was not friendly, he didn't introduce himself so I don't know his name. Seemed much more warm and aware of table next to us. Charcuterie board did not come with the things mentioned, it looked pretty sad. Other than that- we ordered a bottle of wine and pizza, which were good. read more

Great food great ambiance. Fortunately we celebrated our friends engagement party tonight. Somewhat of an important night some might say. Even so that we all flew into Redding and made it a priority to call in advance for a reservation. We were lucky enough to be offered a special table called "The Chef's Table" in hopes to enjoy a very positive and unforgettable evening in the kitchen area. Unfortunately our reservation was not recorded correctly(no where to be found). When we arrived we had no table and waited for 45 min. Unfortunately we weren't offered any beverages(which would have been a great sale) during our wait time. Instead we were graced with glares and very obvious catty gossip from the two hostesses up front(these are the first people you encounter when walking into an establishment). This created an uncomfortable environment from the start and it would have absolutely never happened if we were all 35+ in our pant suits. I thought my blazer and our smiles to kill with kindness were enough for you. We appreciate the free apps for our wait, but don't recommend the poor and unprofessional customer service from the front. Our waiter was awesome btw. Also lay off the peas. read more

They accidentally charged me twice and then the next week I was back in for a meal and mentioned it they completely took care of my meal that day as a compensation. Love this place. I have been here three times now and every visit has been great and I anticipate it will get even better. Went here on a casual date with my husband when they first opened and had an excellent Trinity pizza (get the egg on top!) with a perfectly paired wine as recommended by our server. All of the staff was friendly and checked in on us regularly. We like being able to savor and enjoy dining out, and even though they were busy I never felt rushed. I also brought my parents in and we were seated at the large chef's table near the kitchen which was fun for them to see food being prepped. They loved interacting with some of the staff coming in and out of the kitchen too. I just recently came here with a group of friends for some drinks and the bartender Nate was friendly, funny, professional, annnd patient! He helped us pick out some appetizers. The polenta was my favorite! I can't remember the name of the tequila cocktail that I had but Nate made it perfectly (in the eyes of this former bartender). The whole restaurant has a lovely modern sort-of-chalet setting that is very appealing. I would definitely recommend it for gathering with friends for casual drinks and dinner. Dined with my May birthday kids and loved this new place. So lovely and great food. I had heard there were some issues with service when they first opened, so I was on the watch, but xlnt service from all concerned. Food was delicious and generous but not too much. Everything came out as requested in a timely manner, hot and fresh. The meatball appetizer was messy, but very tasty and the entrees were just as described. A pleasant visit by the mgr. was nice and our server was lovely, professional and friendly. Visiting among the other folks nearby, was fun and unique. The desserts were ok, but not quite what we thought they would be. Pretty heavy for such rich foods. The Sangria was delicious, but I wish I had thought to have a cup of coffee with dessert! This is certainly a great addition to the whole Turtle Bay experience and I recommend the restaurant to friends and visitors already. Just got back from taking my 84 year old Mom to Mosaic for lunch, along with hubby and our son. We enjoyed the upscale casual atmosphere and they were happy to give us an extra plate to split a sandwich and fries as we also had ordered a bowl of soup each. The soup was butternut squash and was savory and not sweet but entirely delicious.My Mom and I both enjoyed it very much. The sandwich we split was the brisket Sammie and it was a hit. The meat was tender and dressed perfectly. My hubby got the 1000 peaks pizza and it had fresh pineapple and salty prosciutto on it that complimented each other nicely. My son got the Classic pizza with a few adjustments to the toppings, he was very happy with his meal. He does not like spicy food so we just asked to have no pepperoni or sausage and more ham but nothing too hard to change. My son and husband are "super tasters" so spicy food and cilantro are out. This restaurant had enough choices to make us all happy as I like spicy food and the menu had something for each of us. Prices were fine for for lunch, $12 for a sandwich and fries, $14-15 for the good sized pizzas and $8 for a nice bowl of hearty soup. Our waitress Rabeka was very nice and seemed to care that we were happy with our meal. Mom said she would let all her garden club members know what a nice place it was and seemed happy that she could share her latest food find with them. The drinks aren't bad, but that's all they seem to have going for them. This time, again, my server said nothing about my cheese board once set in front of us. If your chef is choosing the selection, I expect a little pride and a little presentation for a board of such price. If it's sourced anywhere near to local I'd be all about it. Tell me something. Don't just go through the motions of a server, I can get that for less than $30 per entree. Our ahi was over cooked and not seared at all. It was grey. The sauce was the only saving grace. I want to like this place, but I'm always let down over such silly mistakes. You have so much potential, maybe brunch is better. Dinner is a letdown. read more

I'm usually one to simply read reviews; however, I had to write one for Mosaic. I had the Mosaic, which is their burger, and it was amazing. My mother had the shrimp tacos, and although small, they made up for in taste. The atmosphere is perfect for a date, youth hangout, or even a family night out. We ended with the chocolate dessert and added a scoop of honey lavender ice cream. It was rich, but not so much to be repulsive, but inviting to indulge in more. By far, the best place I've eaten here at Redding. Prices were moderate, but the quality of the food is worth it hands down! read more

Mosaic is leading the way for high quality dining in rural Northern California. From ambiance to food to service, this place excels in all! The interior design and architecture is what you'd expect to see in restaurants in major urban cities - contemporary lighting, wood beams, and in general mid-century x contemporary x rustic style, basically hipster meets farmer vibes. The food itself was surprisingly tasty and definitely surpasses other Redding dining options in the same price point. BUT THE BEST PART was the impressive service! Sometimes these "boujee" restaurants aren't great at making all people feel welcomed, but that was not the case here. Our server Matt conducted himself as a professional but did so with a warmth and friendliness that made you feel like you were longtime buds. Matt also answered all my 20 questions about the foods and drinks. He was knowledgeable about the items and he gave us informed recommendations after learning what we liked as well as describing his menu favorites with us. Plus, without me asking or noticing he replaced my water glass when he discovered food particles floating from the Ranger pizza we ordered! I almost requested him to be my server again for my next visit. But it didn't matter because Rocco was just as chill. If you want the new & shiny, big city experience with old school Redding hospitality, this is it. read more

Fabulous 4 course Christmas dinner for our party of five. Seated in the beautiful forest alcove. The salads, soups, Dungeness crab cakes, beef tenderloin and sweet potato cakes for desert were superb. All paired with wonderful wines too. The service was excellent. The antipasta meat and cheese platter was quite good. This actually bumped my rating from a two star to a three. My Penne with shrimp​ was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. The service was terrible. Our server was pleasant enough, but I had to ask another server for a second drink, and of course, that server had to find our server. 15 minutes later I received​ my second drink. Whatever you do, if you want to sit in the dining area get reservations. Otherwise, you'll be seated at the tables in the bar area. Since we live in Redding we may try the Mosaic once more for their pizza. Otherwise, I wouldn't return. read more

I have been going to mosaic since it fist opened. Today I went with my family and surprisingly it was quite inside with only a few people sitting outside. We waited 20 minutes for them to clear an empty table for us to sit. While the hostess at the time was walking around. My mom had find a waiter and ask if our table was even ready. The response she got was it was still being cleaned. When we finally sat down three waiters passed us without asking if we wanted water. After sitting for a good 10 minutes being ignored one of us went inside and asked the manager if we could get water. We still waited until we decided to leave. The manager ended up seeing us leave and at this time still had no water in his hands. He looked at my dad as though he had no idea what was going on. My dad told him what occured and he seemed to not give a shit. I don't know what their issue is, but it felt as though they ignored us because my dad is of native American and Spanish decent. They wouldn't even look at him and forgot he was even with us. read more

We enjoyed an inaugural dinner with a friend at this great location at Turtle Bay. The staff greeted us and promptly seated our group. The food was very good -- we ordered pizzas and a pasta dish -- as was the table wine. The staff was attentive except for a long delay in the resupply of wine for one in our group. My one complaint is that noise level was pretty outrageous. We were there at 6:30 and it was hard to talk amongst ourselves what with the din from the bar and the noise from adjacent tables. I'll be happy when the weather warms so that the outdoor seating can be used in the evening. read more
