Hands down the best restaurant in NOLA.. The staff is amazing. They know how to be very professional, but at the same time very personable. The restaurant is beautiful and well worthy of Instagram pics. As for the food, if there is a better word in the dictionary than delicious. I'm a supporter of all of the Morrow restaurants but it doesn't mean they are above reproach. My most recent visit left a bit of bad taste in my mouth. My friend and I stopped by for a drink before heading to a concert and the place was full of other concert goers. We asked the 3 hostesses to sit at the bar but were told that there wasn't any space but that we could order drinks to go. We asked if we could stand and were told that we could grab our drinks and stand at the empty bar (with no seating) and although we were grateful for the option, we decided to go check the main bar for seats. There were two empty seats at the main bar and we easily sat down. It was strange that they wouldn't check the bar before telling us there were no seats. The bartenders were super busy but still very friendly. It took us a while to get out drinks, I had a dirty gin martini (really good) and my friend had a mocktail. We wanted a snack so I ordered truffle fries and she had a baked potato. Our order came out but apparently truffle fries comes with a side of butter with truffle shavings. I wasn't expecting that...I would have rather been told that they don't have truffle fries on the menu...because who dips French fries in butter??? Not to mention, the dish of truffle butter was an additional $12. I feel that should've been disclosed. It simply wasn't worth it. read more

i have eaten at numerous locations in this city in my life. I fell like I am somewhat an authority on the food scene in New Orleans. That said, I decided rather late to come to the Super Bowl and needed reservations for New Year's Eve. I was much too late for my regular places so I chose Morrow Steak. Visited Morrow Steak for my friend's birthday brunch. It was about 7 of us and we had reservations. Once there we were seated pretty fast. Appetizers like the crab cakes, turducken potstickers, and surf/turf sushi were ordered and everyone enjoyed it. I ordered the snapper and grits and while it was good, it was a very strong tomato sauce. A little too strong for me but I was still able to enjoy my dish. One of the friends ordered the steak (as he is on the hunt for best steak in Nola). He ordered it medium, but it came out well done. He said it was okay but not in his top 5 of the city. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Since it was a bigger group we paid in cash, as they do not do separate bills (so that's something to consider if you are going with a big group). We were able to get some good pictures as the place is beautifully decorated. It was smaller than I imagined though. Staff offered to take our group pic and we were given free cookies on the way out. We waved down a couple of workers but no one knew who our server was. Every table around us had drinks at least and were waited on but sadly we waited for over 20 minutes with no acknowledgment and left. This is really a 3.75 star review but since that isn't an option I just rounded up. For starters Google says there is plenty of street parking, that may be true but we went on a Sunday when there was home Saints game and it was not. So, on a normal day the parking may be easier. Of course since there was a Saints game the restaurant was pretty empty. Our server was Deon and was pretty attentive. He gave us some good recommendations. Except we ordered the mushroom pasta and he said it was his least favorite because it lacked a more "meatier" protein (my words, not his exact words), but it was our favorite thing. It did need the addition of some salt but once we added salt it was excellent. Now, they do have two similar pastas. One says mushroom carbonara and it comes with an egg and is on the brunch menu. The other is not. We did say we wanted the carbonara but got the other one. We just went with it because we had ordered so much. And again, it was delicious. We also had: surf and turf sushi, Wagu tacos, Mardi Gras shrimp, the cauliflower, seafood mac and cheese, red snapper and grits, and lamb chops. It was three of us and we shared everything. From best to worst: Lamb chops: tender, juicy, well seasoned. All around good. Cauliflower: you can't go wrong with Asian flavored cauliflower. Mardi Gras shrimp: I only put this above the seafood mac because the acid from the pickled bell peppers was a great addition the seafood Mac was very rich. Seafood Mac: if you like Mac and cheese and seafood you will like it. It's rich cheesy and gooey. It could've been a little warmer when we received it but it had a good flavor. Wagu tacos: the meet was good but to big and a tad tough for the delicate shell. The salad or toppings in the taco were good as well. Surf and turf sushi: I think the smoke over powered it and the ingredients were bland. Would not order again. Red snapper and grits: all of our least favorite. The snapper was over cooked which made it eat very dry. Also the grits weren't creamy. Maybe if the grits were creamier it would've helped the dryness of the snapper. We also had the praline crème brûlée and chocolate cake. The creme brulee was top tier. The chocolate cake was completely frozen. They just took it out the freezer and set it on our table. read more

I've been to all of Morrow's spots, so I had high hopes for Morrow Steak--and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! As always, the service was top-notch. Our party of four was pleasantly surprised they could squeeze us in without a reservation. We were just driving around when I suddenly decided I had to try it, and lucky me--they made it happen! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and I'm already planning a return trip just to hang out at that stunning bar. The food? Absolutely delicious. A few of my friends from NO said I should check this place out while I'm down here; since they didn't have any reservations available I said I'd try my luck to go in. When I got there, the hostess said you can sit at the bar and eat. Me being hungry and wanting to try this place I humbly gave her a thankful (Sayless). Upon sitting down the bartenders made it feel like I was at home the whole time. Making some solid recommendations on things to try while I was there. The big parties were there enjoying themselves and the food for a while as well. The ambiance of this place was elegant and it matched everything they had to offer. I came here for dinner with a party of three. I didn't have a reservation, but the host told me a table would be ready in 30 minutes. I let them know I'd be waiting outside in my car. After waiting the full 30 minutes, I went back inside only to be told that my table had been given away. No one bothered to call or text, to let me know. The staff acted unhelpful and indifferent, and they didn't offer to find another table or make things right in any way. It was very unprofessional and honestly ruined our evening. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else since they clearly didn't care to have us eat there. I definitely won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who expects basic respect or organization. read more

The overall rating that I gave Morrow's Steakhouse is just that, an overall rating. Back in mid October, I booked reservations for a party of 12 for my husband's 40th birthday on Sunday, 12/28 at 8:15 pm. Because this was a large party, a non refundable deposit was submitted (that would later be taken off of the bill), and we were made aware that we would be provided a grace period of 15 minutes after our reservation time to be sat. On Sunday, the last two guest arrived at the restaurant at 8:17 pm & we were told to wait at the front of the restaurant while our table was being put together (while it was EXTREMELY hot). We finally were sat after waiting around 20-25 mins AFTER our scheduled reservation time. Once seated at the table, we were sat in one large booth that comfortably sat probably around 10 people & the table was sat for 11 people. Because the restaurant was crowded, we made due with two of the men sitting on the corner end of the restaurant table. Our server was Nick. He handle us by himself & I have to give him his props because, he handled the table very professionally. The table ordered an assortment of mixed drinks, along with appetizers, & food. When the food came out I was extremely surprised by not only the taste but the freshness of EVERYONES food. I definitely didn't think that would be an easy task. All in all, I think everyone should RUN & not walk to Morrow's Steakhouse; but, maybe think twice before coming with a large party. The max party that seems optimal there is around 6 ppl. read more

Mary Had a Little Lamb fr! I ate here last night and had an amazing experience. The lamb, stuffed chicken, broccoli, and lobster mac and cheese were all delicious. The food is VERY seasoned (which I like) The vibe of the place reminded me of NYC--it's got that cool, romantic love affair on the lower east side vibe. The service was top-notch, felt like royalty being waited on hand and foot fr and the bathrooms were super clean and great for selfies, especially with the full-length mirror in the hallway. Larry has nailed it with this spot. For the price, the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere is fantastic. Highly recommend! This steakhouse is ran very well. The decor and ambiance puts you at ease but it still has an upscale feel to it. You are not allowed to wear baseball caps inside which was a surprise for me. Good thing I had a haircut that day or I would've been looking rough on my date night. I don't like the fact that you are not able to talk with a live person when trying to call the restaurant but if you are making reservations over the phone it can only be a party of 7 or more but that is not a person at the restaurant but a call center and they are not accurate with the information they tell you. That part was very frustrating. Despite the phone frustration , the service at the restaurant is top notch. The general manager walked the floor making sure everyone was taken care of and the waitress was pleasant and even provided recommendations for other places to visit while in New Orleans. I wasn't a fan of the seafood Mac and cheese because it tasted like they used to much sharp cheese. Many people at the restaurant seemed to enjoy it though. However the bread is incredible and the sweet potato cheese cake is a must have. My wife tried the gumbo which she enjoyed. I like the Asian fusion with the steak house combination. I'm only giving it a 4 star because I really didn't try the main course meals and just a few appetizers so my food selection is limited and I don't want to be too critical until I give it another shot. We started off with the Mardi Gras shrimp, which were incredibly tasty and flavorful. The bread service was also delicious. The bread was sweet, freshly baked and accompanied by a sweet cinnamon butter as well as a savory butter that was my favorite. Next we had the A5 Wagyu and scallop sashimi. Both dishes were prepared to perfection. The porterhouse, however, stole the show. It was, without a doubt, one of the best steaks I've ever had. While I typically order my steak medium rare, I decided to try it rare since it comes on a hot plate and it did not disappoint. The crust was salty and delicious, creating a perfect contrast to the tender, juicy interior. The truffle fries were great too, very crispy and seasoned. The truffle butter, which I paired with the steak was amazing! I was nervous because of the lack of reviews and of how new they are but was pleasantly surprised. This was my first time in New Orleans, and Morrow Steak came highly recommended. I went on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, and I was able to be seated promptly at the bar. The ambiance was great. The bartender, Earl, made a really good Old Fashioned. I ordered the Taco Trio and baked potato. The flavors didn't exactly blow me away, and I left wishing the food was more satisfying. The menu is pretty impressive so I'm guessing/hoping that I just ordered something that wasn't a fan favorite. And we frequently go to different restaurants weekly. His attention to detail and detailed descriptions of each section of the menu and gave amazing suggestions. My steak came out perfect and I gave him specific instructions. Nailed it. He made our experience Halloween weekend special. Me and my wife were on a mission to experience all of the Marrows restaurant locations and This was by far our favorite experience. The ambiance was perfect with a great music selection at the perfect volume. The manager on duty, on 10/31. Excellent. He was very present and engaging with all of the guest and help to turn table.
