My mother and her elderly friend were in this restaurant on Thursday 3/8/18 and while checking out at the cash register my mother's elderly friend was having trouble getting her ticket and money fast enough to the cashier. The cashier turned to another employee and verbally told that employee "that he/she better come do this or she was going to knock the hell out of her (her meaning the elderly customer). The employee taking over simply said "I'm sorry" and checked them out. I do not have names as I am writing this but I will get to the bottom of this and won't stop until this person is fired!!!!! read more

The selection was great! From creamed spinach to roast, spaghetti salad, biscuits, rolls, cornbread, baked fish, fried fish, chicken and rice, fried chicken, pork chops,smothered steak, Mac and cheese, greens, mashed potatoes.... and there was so many dessert options. The seasoning wasn't all that but it wasn't too bad. And for the price, it was good. The servers were very friendly and attentive and made sure we didn't go thirsty and the kids had more jello. The kids plate was filling enough to put my pre teen asleep with a full belly. Next time I visit mobile this will definitely be a great "after church" meal I won't mind having again. read more

GOOD, reasonably-priced home-style food here. There were 7 appealing entree choices, more than I expected, and the vegetables were delicious! Good selection of breads, about 5 as I recall. The desserts are not labeled so it's difficult to make a choice not knowing what is what, so I passed. The beverages were pricey, $2.50 for iced tea, but tap water is available free of charge. The staff was friendly and courteous, but the check-out seemed longer than necessary. The manager, Sonny, made it a point to welcome us, always appreciated. An older restaurant with well-traveled but acceptable seating. I'd definitely dine here again, and often. 4-1/2 Stars. read more

today May 26, 2023, I visited Morrison's cafeteria in Mobile, Al. first time I visit in 5 months. we was ordering a take out meal for me and my stepdad for dinner, praying the food was tasting better. They had a new front line manger/supervisor (they said his name was K). someone was on lunch break and he said he was helping out. I ask him to please put on some gloves before he prepare my food. he said he didn't need any gloves on because he was only touching the spoons and tong's. I told him I didn't know where his hands has been. everyone else has gloves on and when you pick up the togo plates your hands are touch the inside of the plate. he then turn around with a very bad attitudes toward me as if I asked him to do something he didn't want to do. he said a few nasty things in low key and to the other employees about me and by the time we got to the front one lady told the other lady she the one. not knowing what they was talking about I asked the lady was that about me. the fact I asked the manger/supervisor to put gloves on, she said the lady in front of me was also mad because he was serving your food with out gloves. as a leader in the company we should not have to ask him to wear gloves when his other co workers had gloves and some had mask on. I didn't think it was fair how he acted towards me. I used to visit Morrison's every week to buy dinner for my dad after my mother died. the food was good back then now the food is not the same. the corn bread is not good, the Mac /cheese had too much salt and the best thing they sale is the carrot soufflé's had so much sugar in it you could get sick with overdose of sugar. I don't eat meat, I'm glad I don't because the veggies taste bad. I feel they need to clean this location up. I don't like eating inside anymore because the flooring is so old the carpet sinks. so many people love's Morrison's cafeteria in Mobile, al, but it do needs to be cleaned up BAD. please redo Morrison's and get some better cooks that will follow the receipts we all loved before 2019. PLEASE get better manger/supervisor team members who know to put gloves on before messing with people food. and the last thing is please clean this location and give the cafeteria a facelift. read more

Oh my God! What a fortuitous circumstance that I found a Morrison's Cafeteria in Mobile, Alabama! These cafeterias used to be really popular in Florida until a few questionable business moves resulted in Morrison's needing to sell to a much lesser cafeteria: Piccadilly. I haven't eaten here in about 10 years and it was such a treat. Cafeterias have suffered in popularity ever since Morrison's started closing because in all honesty, nobody does it like Morrison's! The food is delicious. The creamiest and cheesiest mac and cheese you've ever tried, delicious and crispy fried chicken, tender and juicy roast beef with au jus gravy, and some of the best side dishes you'll ever try. The price is modest, and you're in for a filling and delicious meal. This is comfort food to me, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. read more

The best southern cafeteria is still alive and delicious after over 35 years! I went there as a kid in the first mall in Myrtle Beach, SC with my Grandmother. The fish almondine is one of their best nostalgic dishes. Clean safe family dining. They have earned their ***** from me! read more

Hubby and I were out on Saturday and decided to stop here for lunch. We both had fond memories of eating at Morrison's in our youth. This was disappointing to say the least. I have to drive to Mobile Al. now to get great home cooked food . 45 years going into one of the three Morrison's we had in Pensacola Fl.and now they are all gone -alot of history gone. My boyfriend took me to Morrison's last night and we both got the chopped steak. As soon as he tasted it he leaned back, closed his eyes and grunted in pleasure. It was delicious! We had Sunday dinner here and it was very good. When we arrived the line was going out the door. Fortunately it moved very fast. There were a lot to choose from, from the starters to the desserts. The food was good as well as the service. We had not eaten at one these in years but the food tasted as I remember. Do not eat at the Morrison's at Airport and University in Mobile, Alabama. On yesterday, my serving of turnip greens included strands of hair! It was obvious that that DNA sample definitely belonged to the older Caucasion left-handed woman who was serving the vegetables. When I complained to the manager, Mrs. Bearden, she offered only to comp my food and not the person who was with me. Based on that steely glare that I exhibited, she retreated and said she would comp both meals because I "didn't have a drink. just water." (like that has anything to do with the price of tea in China). The most frustrating part was that they initially declined to remove the entire pan of turnip greens from the serving line and it was only after I walked down the line and told all of the customers inside the serving line " don't order/eat the turnip greens" that the pan was removed from the serving line. read more

I worked at one of these in Pensacola, Florida in the mid-80s. They're also now called Piccadilly in some locations, I believe. Anyhow, avoid it. They used to defrost frozen vegetables in plastic buckets set out along the side of the walkway in the kitchen. Yep, just sitting out there next to the path of everyone going in and out of the dining room. A black person named Avon would often make the macaroni and cheese in large batches with nothing covering his dripping Jeri-Curl. Oh, and he didn't wear gloves either. He just stuck his bare arms in the whole mess and mixed it up. One time, someone exploded a colostomy bag in the women's restroom. There was even poop up on the ceiling - it was like someone literally detonated a dirty bomb. The assistant manager was named Byron Lee and he was a real @##hole. read more

I used to love Morrison's, but have been disappointed in past experiences, but we decided to give it another try. That was a mistake! The food was terrible, hamburger steak was not hamburger rather it was a soy something, and though I did try to eat it, I could not. The Au jus it was served in was like liquid fat. To top it all off as we attempted to eat a roach crawled across the table and onto my plate, that was the last straw!! $50 for a family of four for food that cannot be eaten and a roach......we will never return! read more

i was in a bind! i had a very large amount of additional guests to feed at the last minute! could not think anywhere to accommodate such a large request at the last minute so i took a chance and stopped at morrison"s cafeteria. the manager listened to my dilemma and happily obliged! within 20 minutes, i had more than enough, hot, freshly prepared southern food to feed the unexpected extra 150+ attendees with no one ever knowing there was a shortage of food!! many thanks to the manager, chris, his staff and his helpers joshua and paul! i love this alabama springHILL mall location! read more

My family and I were in Morrison's today and we saw what appeared to be some type of small bug on the serving area. We brought it to the servers attention and they acted as if I didn't say a word. I took a napkin and killed it. Next, while waiting to pay for our food, we saw another bug (roach) crawling on the front side of the counter. My daughter killed that one with her shoe. I go to Morrison's all the time and this was a first. Time for an exterminator. read more
