I'm not an expert on Indian food but this place is definitely worth trying. I've been here a couple of times and the food never disappoints. I was trying to find something to eat and I wanted some Indian food. I decided to order some chicken curry and garlic naan. I'd never had the chicken curry before but decided that it was a perfect time. Garlic naan I thought would be a perfect combination. I picked up my food and there were a few patrons inside eating. The place is always so clean when come there. When I got home I noticed that the plastic container with the chicken curry was still really warm. I opened the container and got a pleasant aroma hit me in the face. The garlic naan was hot and fresh. When I took my first bite of the curry I was very impressed with the flavor. It was spicy but not overwhelming at all. I say this but my head was sweating profusely. The naan was soft and fluffy. It soaked up the chicken curry sauce and add extremely to enjoyment of the dish. Place in the suburbs of mobile Alabama and does not look like much from the outside. Always down for some great food and this place did not disappoint. Ate chicken 65 and veggie samosa to start and both were tasty. For main had tandoori chicken that came on out a sizzling platter. Bottle water was small charge .25 and had an iced tea as well. This Indian restaurant had a small grocery store in the back, usually a sign that they're tapped in to a quality source of food distribution. The space was quite basic, but it was certainly full of a wide range of customers. The menu was wider than a lot of Indian restaurants, with South Indian items like dosai and Indo-Chinese selections in addition to a robust selection of more typical curry and rice options. I sampled a masala dosa (which for the uninitiated is a rice-lentil savory crepe with a spiced potato filling and some sides for dipping). Their dosa wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was big, and the potato masala had an impressive variety of spices. The sambar on the side wasn't that strongly flavored. They gave me enough sambar and chutney for a couple of dosas. My bhindi masala (okra) came with an intriguing sweet-savory flavor mix; pomegranate, maybe? That sometimes pops up in these things. I wish that some of their street food/appetizer dishes came in smaller portions that I could actually eat, and I wish what I did get was a bit more spicy hot (they did not ask) but I was pretty satisfied. read more

NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY--staff was made aware of food allergy and were negligent about what foods on the Buffett contained nuts and the patron I was with had an allergic reaction. We returned to alert them and they denied there were nuts in the rice after admitting it when we realized there were nuts when the allergic reaction occurred. They were dismissive about the allergic reaction and not phased that one their regular patrons had an allergic reaction. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed and places this business at a liability for a lawsuit. read more

Hubs and I live for authentic Indian food, and we were hoping to add a new favorite to our list! Sure enough, the BP nailed it for us. Our food was made to order (although they do have a buffet as well) and the flavors were fantastic. My favorite order is the Butter Chicken (medium spice) and the garlic and/or cheese naan. The hubs is hooked on the chicken Briyani. Everything is soooo good, and the service is fast and friendly. Random sidebar: They have wine, and I'm a red wine girl -- but (pro tip) I suggest going for a white wine (like a Sauvignon blanc) with Indian cruise for a much better pairing. We really, really wanted Biryani Pot to be good because we are severely lacking in Indian cuisine in LA. But we get there and we order water, they bring us Luke warm bottles of the cheapest water you can buy. Okay, this is not a good beginning. We take a look at the buffet and it looks pretty decent, but I like lamb or goat vindaloo which wasn't on the buffet. Additionally, my wife likes to order a meal so she can have leftovers. Top that off with the fat that the buffet is 20 bucks which is more than most of the meal offerings. Now, we have a plan. Order off the menu. So we did. The lamb vindaloo was okay. Not real spicy, and it was odd that they didn't ask us a spice level. My wife had the butter chicken. I know, I know. The garlic Naan, 8 bucks worth, was good but no garlic taste or aroma. The rice they serve I hate to say looked, felt, and tasted like minute rice. If we can cook basmati or jasmine rice at home, then step up if you run a restaurant. Finally, we pay and my wife goes to the restroom on the way out. She gets in the car and says, "Roaches". I looked at her and said "What?!?" I got it one level below the hottest level (I got 4) and it wasn't particularly hot, but just right. Some Thai places I've eaten at, the level 3 is like consuming the flames of hell.
