My first time trying Indian cuisine blew my mind. Everything tasted delicious and met all my expectations. The staff were very welcoming and polite. The establishment overall was wonderful.

Chicken Curry and Garlic Butter Naan

I'm not an expert on Indian food but this place is definitely worth trying. I've been here a couple of times and the food never disappoints. I was trying to find something to eat and I wanted some Indian food. I decided to order some chicken curry and garlic naan. I'd never had the chicken curry before but decided that it was a perfect time. Garlic naan I thought would be a perfect combination. I picked up my food and there were a few patrons inside eating. The place is always so clean when come there. When I got home I noticed that the plastic container with the chicken curry was still really warm. I opened the container and got a pleasant aroma hit me in the face. The garlic naan was hot and fresh. When I took my first bite of the curry I was very impressed with the flavor. It was spicy but not overwhelming at all. I say this but my head was sweating profusely. The naan was soft and fluffy. It soaked up the chicken curry sauce and add extremely to enjoyment of the dish. I really love this place.

Paneer Butter Masala

First time in Alabama and wanted to try their Indian food. Not the best I have had. Butter Paneer masala was almost sweet and only had 9 pieces in it. We also had the mixed vegetable pakora. It was ok. Not as crispy as I want and seemed to be all onions. Lastly we had the masala dosa. Soggy and cold. Not much for their chutneys. The sambar was good at least. Not sure I will return when back in this town. The music was good and service fair. Maybe other options are better but we are vegetarian.

I think about their food at least once a week and if I go a month or so without having it, I get depressed. The buffet is a great bang for the buck, but there's nothing better than picking up several of your favs for dinner so you have leftovers for lunch the next day.

This is the vibes they have throughout the restaurant it's so cool! Amazing Art

The staff was so kind and helpful! And the butter chicken was amazing! The naan was also delicious, i also got the boneless chicken biryani and it was so flavorful! The walls were painted with super cool designs as well! 10/10 recommend!! DELISH (get the butter chicken)!!!

Place in the suburbs of mobile Alabama and does not look like much from the outside. Always down for some great food and this place did not disappoint. Ate chicken 65 and veggie samosa to start and both were tasty. For main had tandoori chicken that came on out a sizzling platter. Bottle water was small charge .25 and had an iced tea as well. Only opportunity was the samosa was still a little cold in one of them. Will def be back in my work travels!

Bhindi Masala

This Indian restaurant had a small grocery store in the back, usually a sign that they're tapped in to a quality source of food distribution. The space was quite basic, but it was certainly full of a wide range of customers. The menu was wider than a lot of Indian restaurants, with South Indian items like dosai and Indo-Chinese selections in addition to a robust selection of more typical curry and rice options. I sampled a masala dosa (which for the uninitiated is a rice-lentil savory crepe with a spiced potato filling and some sides for dipping). Their dosa wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was big, and the potato masala had an impressive variety of spices. The sambar on the side wasn't that strongly flavored. They gave me enough sambar and chutney for a couple of dosas. My bhindi masala (okra) came with an intriguing sweet-savory flavor mix; pomegranate, maybe? That sometimes pops up in these things. I wish that some of their street food/appetizer dishes came in smaller portions that I could actually eat, and I wish what I did get was a bit more spicy hot (they did not ask) but I was pretty satisfied.

The service was outstanding! Clean bathrooms with an extra hand washing station. For the folks that don't need to go to the bathroom but need to wash their hands The food is always fresh and hot! Yummy! Definitely come try them out! We had them for our wedding and had nothing left. Everyone loved them!

Alright--"Taste of India"... where do I even start?…read more If you already love Indian food, you won't be disappointed. And if you've never tried it before, this is absolutely a place to start. One big misconception is that everything is super spicy--that's not the case at all. The flavors are rich and layered, and if you do want heat, they're more than happy to turn it up for you. When you go, take a minute to ask what's on special and have them explain some of the dishes. It makes a huge difference. Not everything is the same, and trying different options is part of the experience--you'll enjoy your meal a lot more if you lean into that. I've been both during the day and at night. If you go during the day, hit the buffet--it's the best way to sample a wide variety of dishes and figure out what you like. At night, ask your server for recommendations--they'll steer you in the right direction based on your taste. Some of my personal favorites? The Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Chops, and honestly anything with goat. If you want a standout, try the Amritsari Mutton Rara--it's a big favorite of mine. There's a lot more on the menu than I can list here, so check out their website and take your time looking it over before you go. And when you stop in, tell them the old biker dude--"1/2 Time" or "Phatt Panda"--sent you. It won't get me anything, but they'll know I meant it when I said I'd come back and leave an honest review.

We ordered dahi puri (too sweet), masala dosa, poori masala, vada sambar, onion dosa, and paneer biryani. The peanut chutney and sambar that came with the dosas and vada were not good, and there was no coconut chutney at all--which is typically a standard accompaniment for South Indian dishes. The aloo masala in the poori combo was completely off. Instead of the usual yellow potato masala with small chunks, it was a brown, overly spiced curry. The masala inside the masala dosa was also very different from what you would expect at a South Indian restaurant. Service was equally disappointing. The vada, which was supposed to be a starter, was brought out at the very end of the meal. On top of that, each person's dish came out one at a time instead of together. This was especially frustrating considering the restaurant only had us and one other group dining--it wasn't busy. The paneer biryani was just okay, and the onion dosa was not good. Overall, the restaurant has a lot to improve, both in terms of service and in getting basic South Indian dishes right.

There are several selections of Dosas with different types of filling. They do offer other Indian food cuisine. We also ordered Chicken Biryani. That was also delicious. They provide a no frills but pleasant service, but the food speaks for themselves. The dining and restroom is clean. This is the first Indian restaurant that specialize in something and that something is their Dosa.

Customer…read moreservice was good and I will say this place was better before the pandemic when they had the buffet but what I had recently was some of the worst Indian/nepalese/Himalayan food I've ever had. I ordered the dal fry, vindaloo vegetables, and pakora. The dal fry was the wateriest/soupiest dal I've ever had with absolutely no flavor. The. Vindaloo which is typically a rich red color , that is savory and tangy and spicy looked like a bland curry they just added a little vinegar too. It had none of the complexity of flavor you'd expect, was poorly salted, and tasted like they just threw in a bunch of chilly to make it spicy. The pakora was ok, though not at all crispy, more thick and doughy and soaked the bag in oil. What was most appalling was the mint chutney which was an unnatural form of green, tasted watery, and stained all the food green. I don't know what they're putting in that but when you make mint chutney with mint and cilantro and natural ingredients, it doesn't look like that and it tastes a whole lot better. I don't know if they're getting by making low quality food because there are limited options in the area but this was really disappointing.

Many stuffs were over and owner claimed that most things get sold out by afternoon so it seems they cook everything in morning only and sell for full day. We ordered samosa , tea and combo meal. Samosa was looking old but tasted good. Tea was water with tea powder. While giving combo, owner offered us 1 extra curry as complementary. I was surprised and happy both. Anyways got food. First bite of food from plate and felt curry was spoiled. Asked my wife to try too and confirmed chola curry was spoiled. Next curry chicken tikka masala - result was same. Sour and foul taste. Okay next curry - khoya paneer, this again spoiled. Last curry of beans and potato was our least favorite and bad luck this curry tasted good. 3/4 curries were spoiled food which was due to long kept stale items. We told owner and he offered another curry, it was daal fry and that was spoiled too. This is the worst ever food experience we had in any Indian restaurant. Few in the past gave old food but atleast not spoiled ones. This surpasses every one. There is a hygienic and food poisoning concerns here and would ask everyone to take care. Shamelss owner still charged for food after seeing that we left everything in plate. Only naan and rice we could eat with that 1 out of 5 curries. And infact he charged $3 more it seems on my card which is still pending transaction. Going to open a dispute case via American Express if more amount is posted in my account.
