Chicken and Waffles
Katie S.

This is strictly based on a takeout order. We ordered chicken and waffles and a small side of tots online. It was kinda later in the morning so my daughter and I decided to share something. It came with a piece of breaded chicken, two smallish waffles and a hefty portion of scrambled eggs. There was syrup, some butter, and the description said it came with a side of chipotle aioli, but that was not in the bag. The chicken was super crispy and tasted as expected. The waffles were tasty but my daughter said they were crispier than she would prefer. The eggs were bland and boring and we didn't end up eating them. The tots, were the best thing we ate to be honest. They were crispy, and seasoned well with what tasted like a variety of spices. I wish now we had ordered totchos instead, maybe I would have been wowed like so many of these reviews. I was a little sticker shocked too. For the one meal, with the small side of tots was approximately $21. That is pretty hefty for a fast casual restaurant. I may give them another try but will not order the same thing.

Cowboy burro (4 years ago)

I lovveee Morning Kick!! I always order the cowboy breakfast burrito, no cheese, and I am obsessed, especially paired with the salsa!! It is on the pricier side, almost $17 for a single burrito, but it is large and sometimes I save half for the next day or split it with my toddler so it's like I get two meals out of it. I have noticed recently that their burritos are filled with mostly eggs. They used to have an equal amount of bacon, tater tot, and eggs, but it seems like they've cut back on the bacon and tater tots which is kind of disappointing. Still super yummy though!! Highly recommend!

This picture doesn't do justice for all the goodness that was inside this burrito. Oh my gosh! It was so good!

Return visit. The Decade bowl is just as delicious and delightful as the first and many times since. Instead of carry out we dined in today. It's a cute little spot with board games to play if interested. Service as always was super friendly...small town vibes. Love it! I'm so glad to have this gem around the corner from home.

8/1/26: pretty good food, though I was disappointed to see all the jalapeno, onions & peppers on the tots we ordered. Good thing my sister likes all that stuff; I had to dig around that stuff to eat any. :-) My English muffin sandwich was pretty normal tasting, nothing spectacular there, but the sauces they gave us helped. My sister's burrito was pretty large & she enjoyed it. Their drinks were a hefty size for sure & tasty, plus the staff was very outgoing & friendly. It's not an overly large place; maybe that's partly why they had a lot of to-go orders on their cart. I can't say we'd return, but only because we don't live in the area.

Decade Breakfast Burrito

This was probably the best breakfast burrito I've had in a very, very long time! Came here on a Saturday morning around 8:30am and there was no line but a couple parties seated waiting for their orders. My boyfriend and I shared the Decade Breakfast Burrito which came with Bacon, Chorizo, and Sausage. Can I just highlight that the seasoned tater tots in the burrito WERE STILL SO CRISPY?!!?! I was so impressed with this burrito!!! I feel like the breakfast burritos I've had previously elsewhere are a bit liquidy inside so I've never had one with such crispy tater tots which makes SUCH A DIFFERENCE!!! I LOVE IT, it gave the burrito a nice mixture of textures. This savory burrito was packed with flavor and it was served with a house-made salsa that ended up being wayyy too spicy for my liking :') I ended up using ketchup/tapatio instead. Would highly recommend this place, the breakfast burritos were bomb

AZ Burrito! Soooo Good! Couldn't wait!!!

Morning Kick!!!!! Great as always!!! Excellent customer service! They are at Farmers market in Saturdays at CGCC. Must try!!!!

Their food truck is another staple in my visits to the Gilbert farmers market. I always get the decade breakfast burrito because that thing is a monster. Sausage, bacon, chorizo, egg, cheese, and well seasoned tots. Everything I dream of in a breakfast burrito. Not to mention they have a solid salsa to go with it. This monster of a burrito is also somehow cooked the whole way through, cheese melted as well despite its size. The only downside is that it's so tasty that I can't stop myself from trying to eat the whole thing in one go, which means I get so full every time I eat it. My partner also enjoys their Arizona bowl.

I can't get enough of this place. AMAZING food and even more amazing people. The owners are so sweet and make you feel at home with their amazing food and sweet personalities. I've ordered a few things here but the ones that stand out to me the most is the Keto bowl and the breakfast totachos! Definitely a must to try one of those two. Also I recommend the Chipotle Aioli on anything you get here. It's fantastic!

This place is always amazing and the owners are very kind people. We go here pretty often and are never disappointed, their burritos are great, the Kevin bacon sandwich is my go-to, and my wife loves the tatchos. They also have energy drinks and coffee, definitely try them out.

I tortilla-y love Morning Kick! Morning Kick has the best breakfast burritos as well as the best staff. It's family-owned and -operated. They started out as a local food truck and eventually opened this fast-casual style brick and mortar. The space is cozy with ample seating indoor and out. You can still find the food truck at the Gilbert farmers market every Saturday. I've dined and ordered to-go many times from Morning Kick. I always get the same burrito, the green chili burrito, $11.35. It's one of their vegetarian burritos and comes with scrambled eggs, seasoned tots, house green chile sauce, with shredded cheese wrapped in a 14" local tortilla. This thing is packed full of ingredients and flavor. I usually eat half and save the other half for later. Their fresh house salsa compliments the burrito perfectly. They roast the tomatoes in house and only use fresh ingredients; no canned ingredients. Their burritos also pair well with a side of tots. Aside from their amazing burritos, Morning Kick is also known for their morning kicks -- coffee! In fact, they were on Yelp's Top Places to Drink in Phoenix in 2023. They offer brewed coffee, cold brew, espresso drinks, and Lotus energy drinks. I always get my usual, oat milk latte with honey and cinnamon, which they make really well. I will be back for my next fix!

This is a great place to have breakfast. It's not a chain and they originally started with a food truck. My favorite is the cowboy burritto.

Great pancakes!…read more Breakfast here was a win. I ordered nothing but pancakes. Buttermilk pancakes and Chocolate Chip pancakes. So so good. They were fluffy, smokin' hot, and beautifully plated. These pancakes are huge too. The plate of pancakes come as a stack of 3. I had a single chocolate chip and added one of the buttermilk pancakes to it and that was still plenty. The server and hostess were very nice and the atmosphere was quiet. I'll be back for lunch :)

When I got there and ordered, I told the waitress about my intolerance and ordered a salad with chicken. When my food came out, I was told my salad didn't have chicken because I couldn't eat the chicken, or any other meat in the restaurant, because they coat it in Pam spray (soybean oil). For a place that prides itself on making their own dressings, etc., you'd think they could've figured out how to cook chicken in an oil that they use for everything else. Perhaps if they'd communicated better about my intolerance instead of not thinking about it until immediately when my food was ready (which was quite a while after we ordered), they could've found someone in the restaurant who was capable of making non-vegetarian food with something other than soy spray, but I may be giving them too much credit. They also didn't offer us a high chair for our toddler, which was strange. He wound up doing fine in the booth, which was for the best because a high chair probably wouldn't have fit well where we were sitting anyway. The waitress was apologetic and nice about my food screw up and offered to make me something else, but there wasn't much that could be done given that apparently no one in the restaurant knows how to cook meat without soy spray, plus we'd already waited quite a while for our food. The beet salad was tasty, as was the bread with honey butter and the Chai latte, but I would've left feeling more full if I could've added meat to my salad.

Perfect Retirement Celebration Spot! Thank you OHSO Gilbert!…read moreWe celebrated my wife's retirement at OHSO Brewery + Distillery in Gilbert and could not have asked for a better experience. We reserved one of the VIP cabanas and it was ideal for a group. We had our own dedicated server who was incredibly attentive all night, and there were 2 TV's inside the cabana so we didn't miss a minute of the MLB Playoffs on September 30th. So much room to move around and actually have conversations with everyone -- not cramped at all. Best part: we got to bring our dog Ellie to celebrate with us. OHSO Gilbert is super dog-friendly and they even brought Ellie water and a homemade dog treat for the patio. We ordered just about every appetizer on the menu -- the Buffalo Chicken Dip, the potstickers, all of it -- and we really liked them. We ordered dinners and dessert as well and were pleased with all of it. And for a retirement party on a budget, it was very inexpensive. We were able to host an our group, have our own space, and still come in under our retirement celebration budget. From the dedicated server, to the cabana with TVs, to being dog-friendly and easy to book, OHSO made it SO easy. Thanks for making her retirement night so memorable -- we'll be back!

Another staff member brought our drinks after we ordered and our server eventually made it around to us after saying he had a bunch of tables - I get it, it was Easter! It was so light and refreshing. One of our friends had to ask another server to bring his hot coffee around after he was the only one to not get it. It was my boyfriend's birthday so they also offered him a free pastry. I tried the chocolate chip cookie he picked out which was so good. I told the server I wanted to pay for my boyfriend and he acted like he charged me, however, as he made his way around the table he ended up charging my bf for his meal! I was a little confused with our server but other than that I absolutely loved this place. I think it was just the rush of the holiday and all. My friend and I both ordered mediums with 75% sweetness, and it was the perfect drink for a hot, humid summer morning. Sweet enough to feel like a treat without being over the top. I could probably put that on just about anything. The vibes are wonderful too. It's cozy, welcoming, and the kind of coffee shop where you want to linger with a friend for a while. My only critique is the layout of the front room. There always seems to be a line, but there's not really a good place for it to go besides in front of the entrance and the water station. It turns into a lot of "excuse me" and people weaving around each other. It's definitely a good problem to have because they're clearly popular, but I hope as they continue to flourish, they're able to expand into a larger space or rethink the flow a bit. Either way, I'll absolutely be back. Just save me another coconut brown sugar latte.
