Anyway, we had three dishes there (and a couple of bottles of wine)... the calamari, an octopus dish and the anchovies. Like most of the restaurants in this city it has charm. Dim lighting, brick walls and columns and red upholstered chairs with wooden tables gave this place an intimate setting that was perfect for a few drinks and a tapa while having a conversation. We ordered a dirty martini extra, extra dirty along with a mojito and cod croquettes. Both drinks were on point, my mojito was classic mint just the way I like it, Havana club rum, sugary and refreshing. The martini was well above average with 3 extra olives. The star of the show was the cod croquettes, made with a delicious creamy cod filling, with a red pepper aioli sauce that put an explosion of flavor in our mouths! If it wasn't for us tapa hopping and trying to eat our way through Barcelona we would have ordered more but it was extremely delicious.

I believe it said "Bar Brutal" and so did the menu. So I wasn't even sure if it was Can Cisa until I looked at the pictures on yelp. The food is great. No doubt about it. However the service was questionable. It took really long time until we were able to order for one. Then we were waiting another 20 min to get our bill....we finally decided to get up from our table and went up to the waitress to pay. Then she told us to wait at our table. One minus star.... I accidentally left my purse and walked out of the restaurant. But fortunately I noticed a minute later and walked back into the restaurant. The waitress we had saw me, took out my purse behind the bar counter and handed to me. I know it is my fault to leave my personal belongings, however I was standing right in front of the restaurant so she could have just followed me and gave it back to me. Instead she hoped that I wouldn't come back and she could keep my cash and credit cards??? I know it is Spain and all but this place is not cheap and has 4.5 star....something like this shouldn't happen. So for that, another star has to be taken off.

You can get so much good food and wine in Barcelona for a much better deal. We ordered three dishes, one featuring crab, one lamb, and a veggie dish. The ingredients were certainly fresh, but very lackluster and simply prepared. Felt like they lacked a maturity of depth and preparation. For instance the veggie dish was just a medium-sized piece of grilled broccoli, some kale leaves, and a green sauce. The lamb was tender, but bland. Crab -- bland. There was no caramelization, not enough textures/flavors. Bread cost an extra 2.20 Euro.

While it is a small establishment, it was well lit with natural lighting and good vibes of other customers. We sat down at a small table next to the bar and ordered two drinks. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a sangria. The sangria was strong and well made. He had several other beers, stating they were crisp and delicious on the warm day. We ordered the hummus as time passed and it was delicious. The pita was warm and fresh. The staff was kind, but also very busy as the day progressed. This is a great place to come with a group - the interior is large, bustling and a little noisy. They brew their own beer and it's available in several sizes or in flights. I opted for wine because I'm always bringing wine to a beer fight but the men had a pitcher of beer and were good with it. Maestro has a larger menu so most people will be able to find something they like. They also do lots of combos - liked a mixed meat and cheese board or an assortment of montaditos. That let's you try a bunch of different things for a reasonable price, and it's great for sharing as we found out. I liked our bites assortment for sure but nothing stood out as "amazing". It's a different story on their flammekuche - we opted for the traditional ham and onion and liked it so well we ordered another.
