My friends and I built different flights so we could try 10 different beers. The bartender was friendly and helpful and didn't mind us taking our time to build our flights. However, the minute her two coworkers arrived, they began conversing loudly in Spanish and seemed to forget I was even there. My first visit here was in 2016 and at that time many of the beers on tap were from European countries outside of Spain. Small craft beer bar. Did you ever notice how there's not a whole lot of beer options for local stuff at most of the bars in Barcelona? They always have Estrella Damm, and some other beers with Damm in the name, but for the most part they're not wildly different, not crazy styles, or weird names. Enter Kælderkold. They are a literal hole-in-the-wall. The place is tiny There's a metal bar you can belly up to, read the chalkboard menu, and get a reasonably priced craft beer! This place focuses a lot on IPAs, pale ales, and a few sours. They had a beer list unlike anything I'd seen in this country. They also offered some 'beer cocktails' too. Spanish craft micro beers exist, they're just hard to find- this place has found 'em! They serve some light snacks on the side, but I didn't opt for that. There was a small (small) outdoor seating area consisting of two barrels and four chairs set just outside the door so you could sit there and smoke, or not be inside being breathed on by other patrons. The place was clean. Parking must be insane. It's located right of La Rambla, so good luck getting your car in here. read more

Thank you Yelp! I did a beer bar search while in Barcelona and this place came up with raving reviews. My brother and I popped in not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised to see a wide array of beers on tap. There was a few Mikkeller taps (which I took full advantage of) along with a lot of other Europe based beers. Them seemed to have a rotating tap model so I'm sure the experience will be different depending on the time of year. The staff was not overly friendly but they were not rude either. They spoke enough English to make the transactions easy. It's only a a block or so off of the touristy area but it feels more like a locals place. Worth checking out if you're into beer and want to experience some European craft beer. Random fact, they had a bottle of Vieille Artisanal Saison from Crooked Stave on display. Super cool bar serving craft beer in the heart of Barcelona near La Rambla. It's low-key so you might even miss it. They have lots of beer on tap (around 20 or so?) plus bottles/cans, wine and cocktails. Definitely a great place to try European beers that we can't get back in the US. The flight of 5 beers was shockingly cheap and a wonderful way to try as they give you very big servings considering it's a flight. (maybe 4 oz per serving?) They have small menu of snacks and about 15 stools at the bar and back room. Another great thing about this bar is the staff! The bartender was so friendly and comfortable talking to everyone. This place is perfection. I was so so so happy to stumble upon this gem in Barcelona. As an American, from Michigan...we noticed the Founders beer sign in the window so we HAD to pop in. So glad we did! They had FOUNDERS ON TAP! And they had bottles of KBS and Blushing Monk! Come to find out, a few weeks ago they had a Founder's tap takeover there too!
