One of the best bars in Barcelona, if not the low-key best of the best. Their beer selection is unmatched, so if you enjoy craft beer, you must visit. The selections are unique, delicious, and wide-ranging. I prefer darker beers, which can be hard to find in European cities, so I was pleased to find FIVE stouts on the menu. I had to try them all (not on the same visit), and they had a Russian Imperial stout from an Estonian brewery that blew me away. The food is top notch, too. I was shocked by how good the food was. They have the best patatas bravas I had while in Spain, and the sandwich with Wagyu was incredible, too. The people working here are clearly very skilled, no matter what you get. They have a chill, pleasant atmosphere and very nice staff, too. This is a true hidden gem! read more

The recommendations were all amazing. We ordered the tomato toast, potatoe bravas, batwings, alitas al natural (salt and pepper wings), and the wagyū chimichurri. Every bite of each item was flavor packed. Honestly some of the best food we've tasted in Barcelona. The beer listing was also really broad so there was a lot to choose from. Most of the craft beers were from Spain or imported from some parts of Europe so my partner had a great time trying new drinks that we can't normally get in the US. I'm not personally a beer drinker but my partner is. I ended up ordering the burley oak which was a sour strawberry jelly bean flavor and it taste like juice . This is a great place if you are looking for a good variety of beers and some great food. My wife and I were having trouble finding ipa beers while in Barcelona. This place had a great selection of not only ipas, but many other different beers that you do not see at a lot of places in the city. All of the ones we tried were great. On top of the good drink selection they also have some great food. For appetizers we had the patatas bravas and the mozzarella cheese dip. I tried a lot of potatas bravas while we were in Barcelona, but these were my favorite. They both looked and tasted delicious. The sauces they were topped with tasted great and the potatoes themselves were hot and crispy. The mozzarella dip was also really good, as was the fresh bread it came with. For my main meal I went with a burger. It came with cheese, carmelized onions, and their specials sauce. It was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Every bite was juicy and flavorful. read more

So glad we found BierCaB while visiting Barcelona. This place had an amazing selection of beer on tap from all over the world! So be prepare to expand your beer horizons and try some from all over the world. We each ordered a beer and decided to order a few items off the tapas menu so we could get in all the tastes. We ended up going with fried calamari, bravas, taco and grilled octopus. Everything we tried was very good although our favorites were the grilled octopus and calamari. The service was perfect they put up with both our attempts to speak Spanish and when we were in too deep our quick transition back to English. The men in our life were interested in trying something more beer-centric, so Kelly R found this place and it's a treasure. If you are a beer person you will be very happy because their list is comprehensive and has plenty of limited/rare things on it. The tap list plays on the overhead screens and there's a big list of bottles too. Apparently they serve "the best beer in the world" from some Belgian monastery too. I'm not a beer person (and there isn't any wine) so settled for a light weissbeer. The Mister went the opposite with a bourbon barrel aged high ABV stout. Pretty much everyone should be able find a beer they can like here. Food wise - we started with bravas, which are beautifully presented as perfect potato cubes topped with just a bit of aioli and smoky sauce. We also opted for wings (delicious) and a nice plate of Jamon. Plus, fried Camembert which is melty, creamy and topped with just a bit of jam. We also ordered burgers because...Americas like burgers, I guess? Anyway my L'Eixample burger was perfection - nicely cooked, well seasoned, on a good bun and topped with a fried egg. Delicious - one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Great service too - genuinely friendly and welcoming. BierCab is a cool place too - a little hipster, full of locals who love beer. Traveling from Richmond, Va. A welcoming staff in a cozy space with an awesome tap list. There was a string of Cantillon I'd never had the chance to try before my visit. They even had two beers on from Richmond, Va in a Triple Crossing and Veil beer! The food was very delicious, which surprised me. We had the ceviche and octopus tapas and could not have been happier with our choices. This place was a pleasant surprise during our visit in Barcelona. My son isn't a wine drinker so he found this highly-rated beer spot on Yelp. We walked for blocks to get here after shopping near the Cathedral. It was practically empty on a Saturday around lunchtime but the server was really engaging and gave good recommendations for beers to try. We also ordered a few tapas and they were on point. Flight was €18! I know, I know...that's a bit steep. However, they are like...really large samples of each beer in the flight. So much so that I didn't finish my flight. This spot is a lot less brewery and a lot more "gastro pub". They make all their beers, but the look and feel of the place is a lot more like a restaurant than the traditional brewery. I went dark crazy here, which I kind of regret. I'm a sucker for porters and stouts...but with the servings so large, I was stuffed. I could of gone for some lighter stuff in between the heavier beers, but these are decisions I'll have to live with for the rest of my life. Raspberry milk stout - creamy with a strong raspberry flavor up front and a nice toasty flavor on the back end. Cocoa imperial stout - crazy chocolate smell and flavor. Bittersweet, thick and delicious. Smells like a double chocolate cake. Monserrat - another stout but way tamer than the first two...no crazy flavor here. Would of liked a little more carbonation on this one, but it was solid. This is a solid brew for everyday, not like the others that were super sweet. Vanilla Black Velvet - imperial stout! Super creamy - dessert in a glass. This is another one like a delicious, decadent chocolate cake! This was the best one out of the batch. Rising tide - American pale ale (suggestion of our server). One of these things is not like the others - Obviously nothing like the rest of my flight lol . It's a bit hoppy, subtly. Easy drinking and would be nice on a hot day. While the price is super steep, they were solid brews. I could of really gone for smaller samples of each like a more traditional flight, but I was stoked to be able to try a few beers in one sitting regardless. The staff was super nice and walked me through the offerings. They also do food, but we were headed to dinner, so we passed. Overall it was a great pitstop! read more

Husband and I had a great time at BierCaB. We were in Barcelona for the third (and final) leg of our honeymoon. Being beer people, we'd kept a look out for interesting beer and beer establishments while we were traveling, but didn't find many. We found BierCaB on yelp and decided to take a long walk through the city to get there. BierCaB is an unassuming storefront near Universitat plaza. We actually walked by it twice looking for it. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They've got screens listing the beers on tab, which are ever changing, and note the country of origin. We had a great time sampling Spanish (and European in general) beers and chatting with our waiter (whose English was mercifully good). We also ordered a host of tapas #noregrets. I enjoyed my first visit so much that I went back the following week and was equally impressed. Tip: Of their many beers, I highly recommend the stout; from their food selections, I think their Wagyu burger is completely first class; the steak and butifarra pies credo (pork sausage) was also first rate :-) In the unlikely event that you're still hungry after enjoying a meal here, they have a shop next door where you can purchase even more wonderful food; the pastries in particular make stopping into their little shop completely worthwhile. This place is right next to the apt we stayed at during our trip to BCN. The servers were nice, they had English menus that made it easy for us to order. Food is good. I recommend the fried cod fish for sure and the eixample burger. They also have 30 different types of beer!! So if you're a beer person, this is your type of place. I spent a lot of time here just because it was fun watching the people. Food is mostly fusion, nothing too special but I liked my sea bass ceviche very much (note that it is really very spicy but the mix of flavors was just right for me!). I didn't like the very heavy cheesy sauce on my home fries but it looked so cool it was worth it. The fries themselves were fried just right. The place is more on the expensive side, but I have to admit I went for the special pricier beers. Another good craft beer bar in Barcelona. They have a large number of beers on tap which you can see on the large tv screens displaying the selection. Just pick something different and give it a try. We had bumped into a couple people we met at another bar we unknowingly had the same idea. We shifted from the bar to a table to get some food. After being in Spain for two weeks a hamburger sounded like a delicious change from tapas for the night. I ordered the paral lel, which was topped with peppers and provolone cheese. What a fabulous first stop during our trip in Barcelona. The tapas were well-made and delicious! The craft beers were fabulous and we were give samples to make sure we liked it before buying the full glass. The wait staff were super friendly and accommodating and ensured that we had a GREAT experience. As with tapas, these tapas were delicious and fairly priced. This is a great place for Beer people to visit. An unassuming storefront bear to Universidad but when you go in it's very bright and stylish. The beer is excellent with choices on to screens behind and around the bar (so you can sit and decide what the next one will be!).
