I'm here in Barcelona for a week & I'm hearing a bunch of people recommending this bar so I have to give it a shot. I love the vibe of this place, it's dark and cozy and the service is warm and friendly. I lucked out because a guest bartender is in town and he has an exclusive menu while he's serving. He recommends to me The Serenity, which is the tequila, coconut rum, lemon topped with a fig leaf on the ice cube. It is fantastic! All in all it was a wonderful experience and I'm so glad I went! I was bummed out when the #1 bar on the top 50 best bars in the world was no longer taking in customers for the day. So we ended up at Two Schmucks which is #7 and to be honest.. this was the better choice! Sebastian was our bartender and he was so friendly + patient explaining each of the drinks to us on the menu. We sat at the bar and watched Sebastian along with another bartender make the drinks and man do they put on a show! They played old school Cali rap and we loved the vibes. This place is just so good. It's number seven on the best bars in the world list so I thought it would be cool to try. It's on such a small street and the bar itself is even smaller. It's basically just a doorway. We waited for a little bit because naturally, it's a popular bar but they manage to accommodate us so fast. you can either sit at the bar or communal tables. Now for the main event. The drinks. These drinks were amazing and I understand why it made this list now. To be clear there is no molecular gastronomy. This bar just rests on good quality ingredients and innovative pairings of those ingredients. We got a few rounds - I don't know how often they change their menu, but the melon michelada was insane from a flavor perspective. It tasted exactly like melon in all of the best ways and you don't taste the alcohol at all. It's purely just a leisurely, delicious experience. This is a super fun cocktail bar in El Raval serving classic and original cocktails. Their Beauty Schmucked the Beast is a popcorn topped cognac, rye and vermouth cocktail that tastes like 'going to the movies'. We loved it so much, we can back two nights later for it. Two schmucks went to Two Schmucks. We hit the bar first then walked down the street to the restaurant. Both were delightful. The cocktails at the bar were very cool and original. The vibe was carefully crafted to have a dive bar feel but elevated to the best parts of a dive bar (like it seemed relatively clean). We had planned to get one of their sandwiches but they were not serving at that time. We headed down to the sister restaurant. I had their chicken sandwich and some Kimchi. Both were 10/10. Great vibe with tons of locals. We sat outside and the cigarette smoke was heavy so if you don't like that sit inside. My dining partner is a very picky eater who doesn't like spice. He got enough to eat but things had a lot of flavor for him. I'd go back many times! read more

Hipster bar! These dudes are throwing down some crazy Catalonian drinks with inspired ingredients. I came in for the beers though. They have a lot more local options than the typical bar around here, where they usually just have Estrella Damm. These guys had about a dozen different beer choices! The decor here is right down my alley- dive bar covered in bumper stickers and an occasional neon sign. I'd heard that this bar was on the list of top 100 bars in the world, so of course we stopped in. It took a bit to find, and had already stopped into a series of bars and bodegas on the way here, so it was sort of a pub crawl. They serve bites of food up here- grilled cheese sandwiches and olives, but I skipped those and went straight for the beer list. The whole place sort of has a five star dive bar- it's all about the curse words and being against the mainstream place, in a hipster way. Yay! What a cool place. I love this bar. read more

Our purpose for going was our continued quest to visit as many of the top 100 bars in the world as possible. This one's #87 on the 2018 list. In our opinion, it should be higher. It's way cooler than #40 and the drinks were beyond better than anything you get at #26. According to Eric, they just reopened after an extensive remodel and expansion. We stopped in here to grab a drink and a snack after liking the music we heard playing when we passed by. Dive bar playing some great tunes, 10/10 atmosphere. A good place for meeting friends. Staff were friendly enough. The selection of cocktails was decent, beer menu was small but well picked. Quick note up front that is not a place to go if you have problems with mobility - v steep stairs to the loos, only high stools to sit on etc. Negatives: The bar menu was definitely thought up when they were stoned. Unusual snacks, some of which were really good, and others like the Tropickles were maybe the worst things I've ever eaten. To be fair we didn't really pay much attention to the name, expecting ya standard pickles, instead it was pickled fruit. 0/10, spent five minutes playing is that a pickled mushroom or a pickled banana - tasted like old feet either way. As is obvious from the outside, the bars also got a kinda f***boi attitude. Maybe cool if you're closer to 18, but the styling of the menu and kind of graffiti in the loos, and reading up on how they handle negative requires afterwards, put us off. Conclusion: go here if you're in your early twenties, with a taste for great music, weird food and "your mum" jokes. read more

Amazing bar with great atmosphere awesome music and the staff is just the greatest. They are always keeping you hydrated, pouring water in your cup as they pass by, and the drinks are very well priced! Being that I am a Jersey girl, I was SO happy to see that they had grilled cheese on the menu accompanied by a pickle!! How much more American can you get!? I 100% agree with him in how absolutely amazing this place is, to the point of ruining friendships.
