La Cervesera Artesana might be one of the better brewpub in the area. There are always 4 house brew available on tap and if you prefer some imports, there is quite a good choice both in taps or bottles. Bartender here is really friendly, he even went over the different beer style they have on draft and want to help me in selecting what to drink. The house beers were decent but the service and the laid back ambiance made it an excellent experience! Worth visiting if you are in the area! read more

Only tried the Catalan Belgian Strong. It really tasted more like a stout than a belgian strong to me, though the waiter insisted it was not. Place was nice with a good beer selection, but I was disappointed in the one I ordered. Nothing to write home about. read more

(sorry for doing the following review in English but my Spanish is 'nada') I'll start off by saying that I tried finding some Spanish craft brews by asking the hotel staff and no one was really able to readily assist. Since the hotel is a good one, I'm chalking it up to the fact that Spaniards aren't passionate about cervesa. After stumbling upon a little market that stocked a pretty good selection of beers and trying a few local ones, my beliefs about them not being a beer-centric crowd were confirmed. Now with that context... The people running this place know what they're doing. I sampled 4 of their 5 made-on-premises taps (they also have brews on draft and bottle that are NOT theirs) and each brew was very tasty. I think my favorite was the Torrada ('toasted' I believe that translates to). They list it as a Pale Ale, which I'm not sure I would. But nonetheless is was really good - had a smokiness to it and was most definitely unfiltered (almost 'chunky' in color). As mentioned, they also have a lot of other beers - a great international selection including none other than "Duff." I bought a bottle to go / takeaway, just because I had to. That's worth having to check my luggage for the trip home. Oh, and they do have a food menu, too, but I decided to hold off and eat some paella elsewhere. read more

After spending three days in Barcelona I thought it was impossible to find Spanich craft beer, but after visiting La Cervesera Artesana, I was proven wrong. We had some fantastic Iberial IPA here, which was a welcome departure from the gallons of Estrella I had consumed during our trip and a unique take on the style, much different than the typical American IPA. We were lucky to get two seats at the bar around 11 pm on a Saturday night. Very fun and lively environment with bartenders who are passionate about beer. For beer lovers this is a recommended destination to try some local craft beer and maybe layer on a Belgian or two later. A simply fun way to end an evening especially if you've just had dinner at La Pepita, which is located next door. read more

Stopped into this place on a Monday after the Easter holiday. Reading the reviews it was hard to know if we would like it or not. Great place with a very relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable. The tables are not crammed in, interesting artwork and decor. With a good evening crowd of people- a fun vibe and not standing shoulder to shoulder or waiting for tables. . We tasted the Stout and the Pale Ale- both were superb by Spanish beer standards. You get a full imperial pour no skimping. We also shared an assortment of croquettas which were flavorful, plenty for 2 people and very reasonably priced. We would definitely come back to see what is new with this place when in Barcelona. read more

As far as beer bars go, this is right up there with the best of them. Yes, they may only brew about four varieties of their own, but they serve other locally crafted cerveza and have a list of imports as well. It's very conveniently located off Diagonal at Passeig de Gracia and never really seems to get all that busy. The staff and service are very friendly and the decor brings be back to Boston which couldn't make me feel any more comfortable about being there. My only qualm is that the food is just okay. Some items are better than others but most are just okay. I'm guessing after knocking back a few, you'll hardly notice, so enjoy! read more

I had a great experience at La Cervesera Artisanales'. I wanted to taste everything they brewed on place - Jeff, the masterbrewer apprentice, kindly offered to show me their equipment and explained their brewing processes. It's interesting to see how the second craft beer brewery of Spain is working with quite little batches (600 L), keeping it craft and experimental. I then had every beer on the menu; all of them were very good, some of them were exceptionnal, especially their Belgian Strong that they turned into Brettanomyces fermentation, that outcomed as a very good gueuze / rouge des flandres; 12 % abv that tastes like 7 %). They also serve a black IPA brewed with passion fruit, which is rather interesting and offers a good balance between bitterness and acidity/sugar. Anyway, if you are a craft bert enthusiast, you will love it. Have a talk with the masterbrewer with some good pints and you'll enjoy your night a lot! read more

What a great find - full of locals, culture and craft beer. And since I was with my wife, it was perfect! Great atmosphere and the more Spanish the better - figured it would help put her in the mood. Unfortunately, it put her in the mood a little too much and she said she wanted another baby. No mas! So, we ordered another drink (the sour is fantastic by the way) and I started writing this. Great live music, besides that a Complete let down, orders three tapas only to be informed 20 min later that they're out of all 3! The beer which I ordered was suppose to be a DIPA but I'm 99% sure it was a Newcastle and was charged "artisanal" prices. Never again. read more

It's pretty cool spot when searching for craft brews on draft, but their craft ales have a very obvious home-brew element to it. They have good ales, but it's not an excellent example of craft beers. However, I can appreciate this beer-drinking culture sprouting among the avid wine-drinkers of Spain. The décor and easy to find spot made it all the more pleasurable when we checked this place out on a weeknight. read more

Prices were a bit steep but sooo worth it. The ambience is what is so inviting about this place-- I actually was on my way to something but stepped in for a quick beer when I saw the sign outside. Excellent find in Gracia when you want a break from the uber trendy. This is a decent brewery with a good selection of small plates. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and kind to foreigners struggling with Spanish. I enjoyed the Black IPA as well as the sardines on toast. Definitely worthy of a visit. Cheers! read more

Huge beer selection, very knowledgeable bar staff! I asked how many IBU a beer was and I got a real answer instead of a shrug. Very organized with so many beer it was hard to slow it down! They have several local beers, good wifi and the ambiance of a much older place. People pleasant inside, no crazy drunks and not overly busy (just right amount of people to mingle with) Also, it is CHEAP. Beer was cheaper than most places back home in the states. The bartender was pretty cool, he wanted us to try his favorite beer which he provided free of charge! Great place and I'll be back. read more

Idiotically we went here and drank wine instead of beer!! But the wine and cava was great and we had some excellent food. The sardines with orange reduction were brilliant and really enjoyed the beef cheek with truffled potatoes - both were highlights. Also had the croquettes which were very good. I enjoyed the beer and the atmosphere at this brew pub. I tried a honey beer on tap that had a whopping ABV of 12%, and it had a decent taste. For my second round I had a Kwak, which they had on tap and served in the proper glassware. My friend and I tried the assorted croquette appetizer as well as the assorted breaded cheese bites appetizer, and both were fine but not astounding. All in all, I had a good time and would go back again for the nice ambience and to check out their new selections on their rotating beer taps. read more
