I loved this place and can not recommend it enough. The price was incredibly affordable for the food and drinks I got. For a pint of beer, salmon tartare, and olive tapenade it was about 19 euros in total. The food was absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly and polite. I had a wonderful experience sitting at the bar by myself. They have very nice patio with umbrellas as well. I would recommend this place to both visitors and locals alike. Easy, good eats and lots of beer options and pairings available at Abirradero. I came by for super late lunches twice on weekend days, including once with a local friend. A portmanteau of birria (beer) and Abrevadero (a historic restaurant in the area, which used to have some breweries. Located right off the Paral-lel in Poble Sec, it is easy to get to and a great option if you are hungry in the area of Mountjuic. They have seating inside, but outside is where the fun is as you watch the slow neighborhood go by. Staff is friendly, and they have menus in several languages, with each dish including a beer pairing suggestion. Both times I had a highly satisfying hummus platter and patatas bravas. Basic but tasty, I liked that there were enough bread sticks and carrots to actually eat all the hummus! Great textures and flavors. The potatoes were well cooked with slightly piquant sauce and aioli that thankfully wasn't glooping up the whole dish like some places do. Very filling meal. My man had a hamburger, which was quite large and filling. He didn't rave about it, but like a good spaniard he ate the whole thing, heh. I had a craving for something not too fancy so I decided to have a burger and a beer. After a research I decided to give this place a try. I went into to the counter and the waiter was kind enough to counsel me on what type of beer to choose as they have 36 different types. We selected no 33 , which I got the opportunity to taste before ordering half a liter. As for the burger I settled for the Abirradero Burger. The beer has a fruity taste in the beginning, which turns a little bitter afterwards. As for the burger it was as tasty as they come. I fully enjoyed the first burger since a long time. With an espresso i payed almost 25€ . I want just to point out that if you are in a hurry you should not consider this place, as it may take time until your order is fulfilled depending on day of the week , customers and staff. Apparently there is a 10% terrace surcharge in Barcelona, with terrace meaning the tables on the street. Anyway I liked the place and would choose it again if I would need a burger and a beer. read more

I wandered past a tap room for ICA (Int'l cerveza artisanal) and had to do a double take. This was an impressive array of taps and a solid variety of brews. Throw in a friendly Spanish bartender who generously provided me with sample pours and I was sold. The IPAs were solid. The Parallel pays homage to the nearby main road where our hotel was. What a great neighborhood. You have la rambla and gothic a few blocks away. But the gems were all away from that tourist district and the other side of parallel was where we found abirradero. This beer is a west coast style IPA with little juice but crisp full body hops. Wonderful taste and at 8% was very easy to drink. The Belgian NEIPA was considered their juiciest IPA. Hence the name. I've been spoiled. The last few beers I had before this trip included trillium, other half and tired hands. It's hard to compare but this was a very good IPA. Juice not the juice bombs I've been accustomed to. Prices are very fair. Service is excellent. Can't wait to try the food. read more

Great selection of beer and friendly staff. Many of the places we ate had a very limited selection of beers, so this was a welcome change.

We stayed in Barcelona for 10 days. This was one of my favorite meals, not to mention the beer, oh the beer! For food, definitely try the patatas bravas, they are a classic anywhere in this city, and this spot had my favorite. If you get a flight, just know it's not for the faint of heart... it's a decent amount of beer. I think one of the American IPAs I tried, along with a dark coffee stout were my favorite beers. ! read more

Wonderful brewery/tap room with very friendly service. A rotating list of about 37 different Spanish beers, about half from Abirradero. Good music too. They were playing the Doors, and we asked them if they'd heard of James Brown. They had not. The next day, we walked in, and James Brown's "Get On Up with it" was playing. Beers range from gose/sours through lagers, IPAs, tripels, and a couple of "dessert beers" (Baltic porter or similar style). read more

Spain has a reputation for good beer like Texas has a reputation for good bagels. Non-existent! Imagine my surprise to walk a block off Parallel and find a tap house with 40 beers, and the majority are Spanish microbrews? The several I tried were all impressive! Offbeat menu of beer-based choices, including Beermisu for dessert. Great local hangout if you want to get away from the more touristy Las Ramblas and experience a local scene. read more

This was a nice place to stop in for a drink in Poble Sec when you need something else other than Spanish wine. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed two IPAs from the Barcelona region. In terms of showcasing the Spanish craft ale scene this place does a good job. They don't serve pints (or even half litres) though - 470ml is the most you'll get but that still makes their prices slightly keener than what you'd pay in a similar UK establishment. Food-wise though the veal burger I had was excellent both in terms of vfm and taste plus it comes in a normal roll and not a brioche affair. read more

Completely solid 4-star, bordering on 5. I spent a cold, rainy night here sampling a half-dozen different beers and a few small things off the menu. Staff was friendly and were kind enough to tolerate my total lack of Spanish language skills. Prices seemed a tiny bit high for Barcelona but the *very* wide range of beers and ability to try a ton of different things more than made up for it. I had dinner and beer in the bar area, there was a live music something going on in the back/table area that wasn't too intrusive. ;-) Beer menu gets a five, food menu gets a solid four. read more
