This is quite a popular spot in Sitges centrally located on the beach just a few yards away from Bassa Rodona (the closest gay beach) and a block away from our hotel. Jamie W. and I were thinking this might be a regular hangout for us during our stay, but we weren't excited by the breakfast we had and honestly, the service didn't bowl us over either. We managed to get a window seat looking out to the beach. Breakfast choices seemed plentiful but not all that versatile - a lot of toasts and sandwiches. I ordered the 9,00€ Huevos Revuletos, a rather paltry serving of scrambled eggs (described as "scrumbled") accompanied by two slices of grilled bacon and several pieces of bread (photo: https://yelp.to/T2oXjX7PSw). It was just OK. Jamie had the 6,50£ Bocadillo Bacon, a simple bacon sandwich with cheddar cheese encased in a rustic roll that overwhelmed the ingredients (photo: https://yelp.to/wtQW1aijES). It was judged just OK as well. One saving grace was the steamy 2,80€ Cappuccino (photo: https://yelp.to/vGV2k1-uRE). We heard later that their paella was exceptional, but we never did return due to our lackluster experience. FOOD - 3 stars...middling breakfast selections AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...the seaside location was nice, kinda crowded and loud SERVICE - 3 stars...not much interaction TOTAL - 3 stars...maybe we'll have the paella one day RELATED - Exploring Barcelona and Sitges? Very inventive cod dish, little edible cones, served in a bowl of stone, such a surprise!!

Waaaaay overcooked egg.

If you don't speak fluent Spanish, forget it. They were out of the special. Ok. Waitress offered us to get eggs & bacon. Ok, sounds good. My egg came out cooked on the outside but all raw white inside. Yuck! I asked for it to be cooked more. Came out hard as a rock. Yuck!!! Asked for hot tea, server almost dropped the hot water on my partner's lap. Had to ask for water multiple times. I get it. It's a pretty place on the beach. Totally crap. Even the coffee was bitter. It's pretty, but don't eat here.

Anchovies, calamari and red sangria

The location is very nice right in the beach! Service was very fast. Very casual with a beach vibe to the place. We ordered some appetizers and it literally came out in 5 minutes! The food was ok. We got the anchovies, octopus, calamari and chicken nuggets/fries. Anchovies was really strong but my husband liked them, not for me. Octopus needed more flavor or maybe a sauce. It came on like bed of mash potatoes which had no flavor and the octopus had paprika sprinkled on them. I wouldn't recommend them. The calamari was good but needed a dipping sauce. Chicken nuggets were crunchy and was good. The best thing we got was the pitcher of red sangria. I could drink that all day!

Once again another awesome restaurant to sit and enjoy lunch with an awesome view. The goat dish was spectacular, the paella was good. You can still survive the experience even if you don't speak Spanish.

Great location right on the water. Food was good enough, and the price was right for a nice lunch with our kiddos.

Rough start with slow service, but once things got rolling tapas and gazpacho arrived and were great. One exception was cold centered croquettes, but I've become somewhat accustomed to this: Maybe this is the proper way to serve croquettes? I had lemon "pie" for dessert. A bit weird in its Spanish form; something more like pudding. A scoop of lemon sorbet on the side made it weirder. .

This is our second time here and OMG amazing! Fresh and delicious. The view was amazing, right in the beach where you can catch that breeze and truly relax. Service is slow but that's Europe for you!

A very nice restaurant next to the beach. A lot of tapas to choose from, but a lot of fish and seafood. Not too expensive and a comfortable athomsphere. Its worth a visit, or two. ;)

Solid beach bar & restaurant. Menu has reasonable variety and staff is prompt. I had the octopus which was delicate and flavorful.

But the Picnic bar and restaurant, situated above Sitges' main central gay beach, the Playa De la Bassa Rodona, is one of the better joints during the day

With reservations a must, six of us finally got to try La Picara. There are a variety of tapas, ponchos and raciones on their menu. We tried a lot of them, and everything was delicious with the possible exception of Sepia a la Plancha, grilled squid which was too tough and chewy. Do NOT neglect to see their "Suggeriments fora de Carta" on a chalkboard. Most every off-the-chart suggestion we tried was exceptional, with my favorite actually being Tomaquets de Temporada amp Burratina í old D'Alfabrega. This was probably the best Burrata and Tomatoes serving I've ever tasted. It must be their spiced basil oil. The other standout special was a delicious Pintxo de Foie a la Plantxa, luxurious grilled foie gras skewer. A couple of drag queens came in promoting their show. They were a hoot at our table. Paola, the owner, was so kind and gracious. Service was fantastic. La Picara is definitely a must try during your time in Sitges!

If you're tired of traditional Spanish tapas and want to explore unique tapas that foodies rave…read moreabout, come to Nem! This popular small restaurant only has a few tables and bar counter seating, so reservations are a must. I've been here over the years and it is amazing every time. The ever-changing menu, that looks typed from an old Royal typewriter, usually lists about 9 tapas and 3 desserts. All are sharable. Seven of us came for dinner and we ordered 2 of every tapa, and re-ordered several of our favorite ones. Tapas were bursting with spices and unique flavor combos, a party in your mouth! My personal favorites: 1. Seabream sashimi with lime, coriander, sweet potato, chili. So delicious, my absolute fav, it was one of our re-orders. 2. Roasted cod, coconut pil-pil, beetroot, harissa, dill. Excellent and another re-order. 3. Anchovies 00, leeks, black olives, manchego. I never had anchovies with shaved cheese before. Yum! 4. Steak Tartar Oriental. Heavenly, I think we re-ordered twice. Seriously, there was not one tapa we would have eliminated out of nine. Even the Patatas Bravas were another level delicious from other Sitges restaurants. We washed it all down with several bottles of wine. Unfortunately, there is a hard-stop 90 minute table limit, and by the time coffee and dessert was offered, we only had 10 minutes, so we skipped. Despite of this food pacing error, service was friendly, personable and excellent.

This restaurant was hidden off the path in sitges. But it was one of the best restaurants we've…read morehad. Delicious food, very artsy, and refined menu. Well priced and exceptional food.
