Pic Nic is a typical Sitges casual seafood restaurant. It's large enough to accommodate many tourists in different sections. Our table was really right on-the-beach, or over it. We watched the swimmers and waders in the surf. Food was typical as well. Nothing fancy, but decent Spanish and Catalan seafood. I opted for Fish & Chips which came with the thinnest shoestring chips ever. The fish was nice and moist. Nine of us enjoyed sharing tapas and snacks. Drinks were ok. Service was good. This place is great for after dinner drinks! Great menu and great wine. Inexpensive and vibrant. This place is right on the beach so you can enjoy good music and hear the waves coming in. This is quite a popular spot in Sitges centrally located on the beach just a few yards away from Bassa Rodona (the closest gay beach) and a block away from our hotel. Jamie W. and I were thinking this might be a regular hangout for us during our stay, but we weren't excited by the breakfast we had and honestly, the service didn't bowl us over either. We managed to get a window seat looking out to the beach. Breakfast choices seemed plentiful but not all that versatile - a lot of toasts and sandwiches. I ordered the 9,00€ Huevos Revuletos, a rather paltry serving of scrambled eggs (described as "scrumbled") accompanied by two slices of grilled bacon and several pieces of bread (photo: https://yelp.to/T2oXjX7PSw). If you don't speak fluent Spanish, forget it. They were out of the special. Ok. Waitress offered us to get eggs & bacon. Ok, sounds good. My egg came out cooked on the outside but all raw white inside. Yuck! I asked for it to be cooked more. Came out hard as a rock. Yuck!!! Asked for hot tea, server almost dropped the hot water on my partner's lap. Had to ask for water multiple times. I get it. It's a pretty place on the beach. Totally crap. Even the coffee was bitter. The location is very nice right in the beach! Service was very fast. Very casual with a beach vibe to the place. We ordered some appetizers and it literally came out in 5 minutes! The food was ok. We got the anchovies, octopus, calamari and chicken nuggets/fries. Anchovies was really strong but my husband liked them, not for me. Octopus needed more flavor or maybe a sauce. It came on like bed of mash potatoes which had no flavor and the octopus had paprika sprinkled on them. I wouldn't recommend them. The calamari was good but needed a dipping sauce. Chicken nuggets were crunchy and was good. The best thing we got was the pitcher of red sangria. I could drink that all day! read more

This was one of the worst experiences we have had possibly ever. We had dinner is this place tonight. We were seated promptly by a lovely hostess and that's were the positive experience ended. The waiter ignored us for a good 20 minutes. After trying to make eye contact he acknowledged us, nodded his head and then took about another 15 minutes to come to our table. Mind you he only came to the table after he seated someone on the table next to us, cleaned their table, chit chatted with them and only after they pointed out to him that I was trying to get his attention did he come over. He acted annoyed and begrudgingly took our drink order. After a long time he then took our food order and messed that up. He forgot the mussels and put in an order of the wrong tuna tapa. I ordered the $16 tuna tapa and he charges us for the $24 tuna . the food was not terrible but we could have not felt more unwelcome by this waiter. Mind you he bent over backwards for the table next to us . They seemed to be a local family. I used to wait tables and I treat waiters with respect and kindness, so this left me feeling like I was being discriminated against. I have never left a bad review for any establishment ever. I'm not generally a great fan of the gay venues in Sitges, which are often eye-wateringly pricey. But the Picnic bar and restaurant, situated above Sitges' main central gay beach, the Playa De la Bassa Rodona, is one of the better joints during the day. It serves reasonably priced tapas and snacks, coffee, beer and soft drinks, and is friendly enough, though the service can be a bit hit-and-miss. There are plenty of shaded outdoor eating areas, and those on the beach side provide a good vantage point from which to view the gay beach itself - packed solid with sun-loungers and their roasting occupants - if that's your thing. Unsurprisingly, the terraces on the promenade side are quieter and have slightly quicker service.. read more

Avoid at all cost! My partner and myself went here for breakfast at a time when there were only 2 or 3 occupied tables. On walking into the restaurant we were ignored by several staff who all seemed to care more about socializing with each other than actually working. In fact once we'd seated ourselves it took more than 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by a server. She came over with menus, and we didn't get approached again for about 12 more minutes. During that time I watched the servers working hard at not working, but instead straightening place mats, walking around chatting, and staring at the register screen. When we finally ordered our food we had to wait 30 minutes for an overcooked, totally bland, slightly rancid tasting scramble of eggs and flecks of bacon surrounded by 1 slice of toast cut into 4 pieces. What a waste of a wonderful, seafront location, and our money! There are too many other, better choices for food nearby, so save your time, money and appetite for a better venue! read more

This bar and restaurant is on the front in Sitges. I picked it due to reviews posted by others & whilst it was fine...it didn't stand out compared to the other amazing food I had in Spain...perhaps I just have high standards. The positives were the friendly atmosphere among diners & staff, fantastic views & decent portion sizes. Sadly the service was lacking ( despite the nice waiters). We ordered a chicken & bacon roasted sandwich to share, some fried calamares & chicken croquettes. The nature of tapas is they arrive separately. The sandwich & croquettes came straight away. Both tasty for what they are but as we finished our food the calamares hadn't arrived. Something I noticed in Spain is that they don't check back. Finally we flagged a waiter after 30 minutes including eating time & eventually the calamares arrived. They were fine but a little stodgy / pancake like batter. I had a half litre of cava sangria with the meal which tasted a lot like orange 20/20 which I drank as a teenager in the 90s. I was put off trying any jugs of this after but perhaps it was due to cheap cava. All in all it was fine, it's was 40 euro which isn't the cheapest for lunch but I suppose you pay for the location. read more

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. For being apart of a somewhat touristy area, this place is amazing. (Most places in tourist areas serve sub par food to tourists not familiar with the local cuisine) but not here. Literally right on the beach, it has a beautiful ocean view to one side and the Main Walking street on the other. VERY attentive service and extremely high quality ingredients, surpassing, in my opinion, some of the "upscale" restaurants in the area. The terrace facing the ocean was closed at 12:00 and the breakfast food was just ok. Nothing special. Considering it's literally on the beach, having to sit without a view of the beach and be swarmed by flies the whole time while trying to eat, I would recommend walking across the street and eating at a real restaurant instead. read more

Just don't. Went here because it was close and we'd been to Kansas the day before - weren't expecting anything other than competent and it failed to get close. We were sat in the Tapas side - not a-la-carte - and the menu seemed to consistent entirely of things that looked and felt frozen or tinned. Between we had - croquettes, chicken fingers (that being on the menu is a give away), squid rings, sardines, gazpacho, feta salad and Spanish omelette. First off, it took the sever about 30 min to even acknowledge us. When he finally acknowledged us and finally brought us food, he got our order wrong. Granted, he seemed to be super busy, and it seems perhaps they were short staffed. But seriously...at least acknowledge us! On top of that, the breakfast was horrible...greasy and cold. The staff here was friendly and attentive, and it was the perfect place for a refreshing lunch without having to get up from your beach chair and walk too far! Followed the Yelp trail here and loved it. Great positioning above and overlooking the beach. Staff friendly and speak English. Everything was great. Anchovies, octopus, couscous, quiche and Spanish omelette that tastes like a potato knish. Best choice for lunch. The kind of restaurant that really captures the thing about the uniqueness of places like Sitges: combination of gay crowd sunbathing, families, tapas, cocktail - on - the beach, great sophisticated food, traditional dishes and catalán folklore. .. yes! all that in just one place! There is a tapas beach bar section and a full service restaurant. This is the one to try. Had each time very good dishes, classic ones (arroz) and more sophisticated like some kind on rosemary raw smoked sardines and always up to the standards. Nothing too fancy but with the right thing at the right place ... and the perfect taste coming. Excellent service both friendly and super efficient, all very relaxed and simple with great views of the beach. Well, this place is really a 3 1/2. Once the servers switched, the service was great. The salad, calamari, and pan Catalan were all special. Tortilla was solid and the beer was cold! Don,t bother with the octopus. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that we couldn't wait to leave. We tried to talk a bit, but got hoarse yelling, so ate in near silence.
