I would have loved to have given this place three or four stars but the way it's run at the time I visited that's just not happening.
The place has lots going for it, beach side, clean interior (not my taste in design but that's not the point), friendly British proprietor, street side terrace.
Let's start with the important stuff, the food.
I had a Caprese salad on two occasions. First time is was really nice, nice enough to go back for another one. This time not so good.
During my second visit my partner had a hamburger of which I had a taste and it was really nice.
We went back on a different day because we were both in the mood for a hamburger. This time, though nice enough, it wasn't as nice as the first time.
Also we waited for over an hour for a simple order if two hamburgers.
Others had ordered a lasagna, only to be informed, 15 minutes later, lasagna wasn't on today. The alternative English Breakfast took about 45min to appear on their table. It was the size of an airplane meal so why it too that long is a mystery to me.
The sangria was very nice! But after ordering a second round we had to wait quite a bit for a simple drink (just pour it from a jug and bring it over). We were actually rather surprised that it even arrived before we decided it was time to move on.
They have a small menu so you'd expect the food quality to be very consistent and the wait wouldn't be too long. Neither were the case.
There were no abnormalities to account for the long waits, like extremely busy (only four tables occupied).
Good thing we weren't on any kind of schedule as we for sure would not have been able to keep it.
This place has enough positive points to get a higher rating, if only more effort was put into it. read more
