This torta isn't even an torta, carne asada is burnt, literal dog food, I don't even think I'd feed my dog this, The Sonoran that's "award winning" isn't award winning it's disgusting I don't even think it's beef dog, the bread has a gapping empty hole of just nothing from the way they stuffed it poorly, the hot dog is skinny and dried like I've never even seen a smaller dog. And why do they serve fries and ketchup with a torta? What happen to rice and beans? Have been going to this location for 4+ years. Have seen a decrease in their customer service. Tonight will be our last time (over a miscommunication $7.00) manager Jesus would not take off a re-order taco. Our Server Roma took our Oder one person in our party ordered a shrimp taco and a salmon taco. She then asked if he would like the shrimp grilled or breaded told her breaded. Well the breaded taco changes the taco to come with a sauce and pico that was not told to us. When we were given the check she said "sorry to tell you this but we had to charge you for the re-order shrimp taco" you can talk with the manager if you would like. Jesus left our table for 5 min came back and said they wouldn't be removing the 7.00. That's fine paid the bill and will not be back. On a side note Jaime that we've known for 10+ years saw us on the way out and was disappointed about how that was handed. I've eaten here a couple times and another location. I do like the food and the employees are decent.

Ordered food around lunch time for a later time through door dash because the restaurant's website doesn't allow you to order ahead. I came at the time frame provided to insure the order would be done (a 30 min window) and found that the order hadn't even been started. The restaurant was maybe a quarter full with a couple staff members just standing around so I feel like it's not much to expect the order would be completed in a 30 minute window. Staff made it sound as if it was my fault for ordering through door dash. If you don't want customers to use door dash then don't partner with them. And once the order was ready they didn't even tell me or call it out they just sat it on a table after which I waited 5 min and walked up to ask if that was my order. I've always loved Moreno's. Starting with their locations in Mesa. The food is consistently good and fast. The agua frescas are great. It's priced well too. The restaurant is always clean and the service is friendly. read more

The wife and kid love this place, but it just doesn't do it for me. The chips and salsa aren't anything to brag about, and overall the food is extremely greasy. The last time I went I tried the Carne Asada burro, and found that the meat had a lot of gristle in it. I've been here more than a few times with the fam hoping for something that would 'do it for me' but I just can't find something I've really enjoyed that I can default to. So when they want to go I usually tell them they should have a 'Girls night out' and leave me at home. read more

I came here on a Sunday with friends for lunch. The restaurant was set up like a family dining restaurant with booths and tables and a glass store front. The place was modestly decorated still lending to a Mexican ambiance. The service was good. The drinks and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a smothered burrito. It was a generous helping of shredded beef, peppers, onions, and cheese wrapped up in a large flour tortilla and smothered with green sauce. It was good but not great. I did eat the entire thing. It was Thursday night, around 7:00 pm. I walked in and placed an order to go. Pretty simple combo platter; two shredded beef tacos w/red sauce, rice and beans. I observed a woman behind the counter packaging an order. She called my name and handed me the bag. They weren't terribly busy and I was feeling pretty lucky that I received my order so quickly. Before leaving, I asked her if there was red sauce in the bag. She said, "Yes." I walked out to my vehicle, unsealed the bag, and located two containers of green sauce. I walked back inside and asked the man at the register to exchange the sauce. The woman who so confidently gave me the wrong sauce looked at me and then, without apology, quickly turned away. I returned to my vehicle and drove home, which is 2 miles away. I was completely disappointed when I got home. Each of the tacos was wrapped in aluminum foil and cold to the touch. Not to be confused with cooling off in the time it takes to drive two miles. Actually cold as if they were premade, stored in a refrigerator, and then served. No wonder the service was so quick. They didn't bother heating up the food. Definitely not worth the $16. read more

I've been driving past this place for the last 2 months and finally decided to give it a shot! I always like to try Sonoran dogs when they're on a menu since I'm from Tucson and loooooooooove Sonoran dogs!! These dogs were DELICIOUS!! The buns were really good and the toppings were fresh and yummy. I ordered them to go and was pleasantly surprised to find chips and salsa thrown in too! BONUS! This is my second review. I just wanted more notes. The red sauce on the enchiladas is better than the green. The "steak" taco meat is terrible, get the chicken or shredded beef. The Chandler location doesn't wait on you or give you the bean dip for the same price. Not worth it to go to that one. read more

Food was delicious, delicious! We got the carne asada breakfast plate and the spinach and mushrooms omelette. Also, a side of pancakes, yummmm yummm. The carne asada breakfast plate is not on the menu, buy ask for it, is delicious, full of flavor. The Omelette was delicious, no just the spinach and mushrooms were delicious but it was full of cheese Pancakes were fluffy and yummy. Our server was Christian. He was patient, helpful and kind. Ordered take out. 5 different street tacos, chicken quesadilla, kids burrito meal. This was done on time and was fantastic. We really appreciated that the gentleman that worked there asked if we had a to-go order as there was a line of customers in front of us who were indecisive about what they were going to order. I've said before that I wish Yelp had a 3.5 stars selection. My family's experience here was mixed. This is a new location, larger than the San Tan Valley restaurant. I've eaten at Moreno's for a long time, but haven't been for over a year. First the negatives: I don't know if Moreno's changed the cheese they use, but my favorite shrimp and mango quesadilla didn't taste the same. I could only eat half of it. My daughter got the seafood enchilada with a spinach-cheese sauce, took two bites, and couldn't eat any more due to the sauce. The positives: Service was excellent. Two grandsons got dishes involving carnitas or steak, and they and my daughter said the meat was seasoned just right and was very tender. Another grandchild's nachos plate was huge. Everyone loved the Mexican rice, more so than at a place we had been to previously. An older grandson loved his horchata drink so much he ordered a refill. The Sonoran hot dog was a hit. Moreno's does have some menu items I haven't seen other places. It's too bad this visit was somewhat disappointing. read more

Two years ago, I wrote a negative review because of the service. We decided to give it another try end of March and again yesterday. Whatever problem they had with service in 2019, seems to be resolved. We had two different servers these two recent visits and they were much better. We've tried them 4 times now with no success. Shredded beef is always dry. Chicken is moist but no spices and they overload whatever you choose with basically plain shredded beef.or chicken. Salsas are bland. No one in my family could finish their meal. Cheese crisp was even dry. We've had frozen Mexican food with more flavor. read more

Their hours say they open at 7 and we have ordered at this time before. Then my husband called a few minutes later thinking it was just my phone and then someone answered saying they aren't open and hung up. Wait, what?! We used to eat here once or twice a week pre-Covid, so I was happy when I learned they were offering take-out. I called in the the order and was told it would be ready in 20 mins. I arrived on time, and was presented with the bill for what would end up being overpriced mediocre food, which I paid and tipped. I THEN watched the employee take the ticket and hand it to the kitchen. That's right...they hadn't even started it. Then she tried to tell me that the cook had it for awhile and she didn't know why it was taking so long. I was made to wait outside for the order to be ready. It's Arizona folks and a toasty 104 today while I waited for the order. Btw, chips are not included with your dinner if you order take-out, only dine-in...which is not possible right now. A bag of chips and salsa will run you a hefty $11. No apology for being late, or thank you for patiently waiting in the heat. Not only have they lost a new take-out customer, but they just lost a long-time dine-in customer as well. I don't like writing negative reviews as you can see by my history, but if this business fails, it will be on their own merit or lack thereof. My first time and my last at the location. The services is absolutely terrible. The beans they brought with the salsa was good but cold. As soon as I placed my order i was completely forgotten bye my server. When she brought the food she just sat in at my table not saying a word and walked away and never came back. I had to flag Down the bus boy to get more salsa. I was only giving one napkin for a whole mean and chips and salsa smh. I would have asked for more but all the servers were just hanging out on the side talking. In the whole 45min I have been here the only interaction with your employees was placing my order and them dropping off my food and not saying a word. I will never come back to back to this location. I normally go the the queen creek location witch has phenomenal customer service I live in Mesa and I pacifically drive there. Sad to see sacia no longer works there etheir. She was my favorite server. She was always so kind and personable and on top of all her tables. I'm willing to give Morenos another try but only the queen creek location sad to i just got a job in the same complex and though this would be my go to spot for lunch. read more
